Not sure if I should be starting the new thread as I'm the last poster on the old one - is this how it works?

MrsSchadenfreude · 10/06/2015 23:00

Another crepey love-in! Have What and Where disappeared off into the sunset?

Biff her on the nose, BD. In your mind, not in person, obv.

QueenQueenie · 10/06/2015 23:01

OOOH, I'm not so sure she doesn't merit a small biff in rl Mrs S...

QueenQueenie · 10/06/2015 23:03

What and Where have gone to find Who?, When?, Why? and How? and are going to come back to drive us all insane with their names...

cremolafoam · 10/06/2015 23:15

Hi Crepeys, just another wretched week in Cremolaville, not least my failing to keep postingBlush
Dd situation grim( has signed lease with boyfriend) I am practising deep breathing and zen-like patience.
Dfriend's father killed in car accidentSad- so appallingly sad and sudden. SadSad
I have broken my foot ( random gardening accident which was quite funny and involved a cat and an orange bucket)
oh oh And (drum roll):

I have finally been made redundant. It has been a long time coming but it is still like running into a brick wall.

I am trying to keep up with this thread ( probably will be easier now I am back on crutches and about to be unemployed. ) ha.
I miss you lot and value this thread enormously. Please let me apologise for dumping and running again. I just wanted to let you know that I'm helicoptering,

MontserratCaballe · 10/06/2015 23:17

Crem, only seen your post and not read anything else today. How terrible for you. I am so sorry. Sending you strength and love FlowersFlowers

cremolafoam · 10/06/2015 23:22

Thanks Monty

I can only say, thank heavens I have actually met most of you or I might come across as the most attention-seeking disastrous f-up you could possibly hope to come across on the Internet, like evah.GrinConfused

whattodoforthebest2 · 10/06/2015 23:23

Hi MrsS and QQ - I'm here I've been doing piles of laundry and chores and trying to remember everything we need for a week in Dorset... and trying to keep up with the thread.

Oh dear, Crem. All sorts of bad news, I'm sorry - the job, dd, your foot - all happening at once - and a car accident too - how awful. Flowers

OP posts:
Stropperella · 10/06/2015 23:25

Nah, Crem, I wear that crown, surely Grin

Really sorry to hear about all the horridness. That is very much Not Fair for it all to happen at all, let alone all at once.

CointreauVersial · 10/06/2015 23:27

Oh Crem, it never rains but it pours.... Sad You poor love. How long do you still have at work? Hope you're not in too much discomfort foot-wise. Dare I ask how the cat is? Wink

cremolafoam · 10/06/2015 23:33

I been given my 90 days today CV.Shock
Yes the cat is fine. The 99p bucket, not so much.

lalsy · 10/06/2015 23:42

Crem Shock, so sorry, please post as much or as little as you like. Redundancy on top of everything else is just pants. Look after yourself as much as you can.

NUFC69 · 11/06/2015 04:55

Sitting at the gate in Edmonton, couldn't read and run. Crem, what a time you are having. I would suggest Wine but you might have too much and fall and break something else. So awful for you. Thanks

Having a bad day, final straw was missing our last connection so will not get to our Airbnb pad until midnight. Confused

Blackduck · 11/06/2015 06:23

Oh God Cremo so very very sorry :(.

Big {{ }}

hattymattie · 11/06/2015 06:33

NU - hope you are safely installed and and sleeping..

Crem - too much worry and bad luck all at once. I don't know how you manage. You need to bury yourself in a good boxed set of DVD's and forget about RL for a while. I fear your DD is going to learn the hard way.Sad Sad. I don't think you're a f-up by the way - you seem greatSmile.

BD Angry - Likewise - binge watch something good (works for me). So frustrating - there was a quote by Will Smith of all people on FB which I actually thought was quite good - something like - don't let people who don't count control so much of your energy and emotions. Thought it was quite good for Will SmithConfused.

Today - joyful trip to the gynae who is going to look at my blood tests (and other stuff) and tell me if I'm officially an old lady.

bigTillyMint · 11/06/2015 06:45

Oh Cremo, you poor thingFlowers You are really getting the shitty end of the stick at the moment, aren't you? And poor old Brian! Will you get sick time off for your foot? Make the most of it if they are chucking you out anywayWink And sorry to hear about your DD and the car accident. What a lot of horrid things.

NU, glad to hear you have arrived - hope to hear about your trip as you go.

BD I saw that Will Smith quote too!

bigTillyMint · 11/06/2015 06:57

And in other news, Stropps is coming up to stay with me on Friday 26th June, so if anyone fancies a mini-MU potentially in my neck of the woods, let's do it!

wherewouldibe · 11/06/2015 07:31

queen You can't turn your back on this thread for a minute as it moves so quick. Not been poking my beak into Mumsnet as much this week so just trying to have a little catch up now.

crem I really feel for you I echo what everyone else has said. What nice things do you have coming up this year that you can tell us about? (Just trying to get your mind off things!)

what hello [waves madly] I love Dorset!!! Where are you going? Lyme Regis is an absolute gem of a place you must go and visit!!

bigtilly where are you again? I'm sorry I'm loosing my marbles track of where you all are...

Rosebag · 11/06/2015 08:33

Crem oh no, that really is pants. I do hope that the redundancy eventually turns in to an opportunity for something new and better. I guess with DD calm patience is all that one can practise....assuming she continues with her studies in spite of the BF? And I wish your poor foot better Flowers xx

BD that is also pants but maybe this has taken the lack of clarity out of things...now you know this so called friend....isn't. I'm appalled at her juvenile behaviour. So sorry for this extra blow. And involving the DSs as well Flowers ps I can't remember if it's you that used to live where I grew up and your DParents are still there? Do let me know when you visit and I'll come and see you....it's not a long drive and DS goes to school in the area xx

NU do hope you have reached your destination....and it's lovely, to make up for the crap journey.

Today I have physio for my ankles, followed by a singing lesson. I have not practised for the latter very much. Not good but struggling with no time alone in the house....I'm not good at practising with an unappreciative audience of sour teens. Grin I am working currently on Porgi Amor (marriage of figaro) and No Good Deed from Wicked. Have any of the singing Crepeys done either of those? Tra la la

motherinferior · 11/06/2015 08:45

Oh Cremo. What utter pants.

Ditto BD.

Am up for 26th as will need bracing snifter before DM's 80th.

I have attempted a Ladyjog and am cautiously pleased with the results - Magi, I also love the fact it gets me out. Although have a posh lunch at the Ivy today Shock(a rare freebie).

My own minor blow for the week was also a conversation with a historian who told me my entire novel wouldn't work. Friendly novelist friends have pointed out solutions but at the time I was not at my jolliest Grin.

MrsSchadenfreude · 11/06/2015 08:49

I am trying to shift myself out of bed to go to work with little enthusiasm.

Crem - that is shit, so much all at once. Sad I was going to ask if the bucket was called Brian, but I see BTM beat me to it. Grin

Need to book a holiday...

magimedi · 11/06/2015 09:28

So sorry to hear of all the troubles at once, Crem.

MI - after this chat re swim v run I thought I should do some other exercise as well & went for a 'power' (!!) walk yesterday up & down hills. Only a couple of miles & whilst the aerobic bit was fine, my legs ached quite a bit. So I have decided to do that a couple of times a week as well as swimming as swimming obv doesn't exercise everything!

Enjoy your lunch.

lalsy · 11/06/2015 09:39

I can probably make a little MU on 26th Smile.

Hills. Urgh.

hattymattie · 11/06/2015 10:46

Well - I am sure everybody will happy to know that apparently I am not yet on menopauseHmm . My hormone levels and lack of sufficient night sweats indicate I have all those delights to come. Not everybody has night sweats do they or is this absolutely a rite of passage?

I was going to celebrate this by hitting the running machine but the temperature has shot up to 30 so need to be up and out early tomorrow if I'm to achieve any sort of useful exercise.

herbaceous · 11/06/2015 11:44

Bloody hell crem. What an avalanche of ordure. AS others have said, you need to take it as easy as you can, and not worry about everything all at once!

Re DD, if she's anything like I was at her age, this could well be a rather misguided attempt of her psyche to show she 'can do stuff on her own, I don't need you, etc'. It will inevitably go tits up, but she will then have realised she can't in fact do it all on her own, and as she's worked that out herself, will be more amenable to listening to you in the future. Does that make any sense?

I am getting my summer clothes out. This is less depressing than normal, as there are quite a few that I can now get into that last year I couldn't.

CointreauVersial · 11/06/2015 13:22

26th - not sure, will have to consult.

Hatty - well, that's good news. I never had night sweats, but as I'm the sort of person who wears bedsocks and takes a hottie to bed in midsummer, I think I would have welcomed them.

Lucky you, MI - posh lunch, eh? I'm at my desk, as usual.

BTM - yay for newly-fitting summer clothes! I've gone the other way, alas.

Anyway, busy weekend ahead....DS has his last GCSE tomorrow, and will be hot-footing to GF's house, as he hasn't seen her all week. Then DD1 is 14 on Saturday; she's having a birthday dinner and sleepover for seven friends on Friday night, heaven help me. She originally wanted to borrow a tent and sleep in the garden, but forecasted thunderstorms and the (not unexpected) refusal of the tent-owner to lend a large, expensive hi-tech tent to a group of dizzy popcorn-spreading, sweet-munching, screeching teenage girls has put paid to that one. They'll be raising hell in our living room instead. Hmm

Into London on Saturday afternoon for a family dinner (we have booked here....then on Sunday DS has a football tournament, and DH and I are on BBQ duty. Traditionally, it always rains for this particular tournament which just adds to the joy....
