Will anyone get 'the' M&S skirt?

That suede one?

Or is it over-hyped, over-priced and over-exposed?

I can see suede skirts working well in an Ali McGraw in Love Story kind of way. This M&S skirt is utterly unappealing though.

itsveryyou · 14/05/2015 17:34

I love the shape, in fact I'm looking for a denim one in exactly that style. But suede with sticky-fingered kids? No. And in a shade of dysentery beige? Aaaah...no.

ChristianGreyIsAJackass · 14/05/2015 17:38

'What fresh fuckery is this'

ChristianGreyIsAJackass · 14/05/2015 17:38

Fucking terrible skirt by the way...

Marcipex · 14/05/2015 17:40

God that is ugly.

maroonedwithfour · 14/05/2015 17:40

I think I quite like it on a tall, very thin laaaady. Thats me out then.Hmm

tethersend · 14/05/2015 17:53

Itsveryyou, have you seen the denim skirt m&s are doing? As ever, it's nicer IRL

BadgersArse · 14/05/2015 17:59

Lol at DMBL liking it

All she ever wears is jeans

PunkrockerGirl · 14/05/2015 18:01

He'll would freeze over before I'd wear that pile of frump Wink

PunkrockerGirl · 14/05/2015 18:01

Hell

BitOutOfPractice · 14/05/2015 18:04

No. It's brown.

I don't do brown

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 14/05/2015 18:07

Wow, it's vile!

Not a chance. Even if I thought £200 could ever be a reasonable price for a skirt. Which I don't.

squoosh · 14/05/2015 18:10

I'd only enjoy spending £200 in M&S if I was spending it in the food hall.

NCTimeAgain · 14/05/2015 18:16

It's not just shite....It's M&S shite though squoosh

HolgerDanske · 14/05/2015 18:52

I would if I was young, tall and very skinny and able to fully embrace the seventies revival.

As it is, I'm not that young, of average height, fairly slim but with hips and thighs and it would just look all wrong.

LondonRocks · 14/05/2015 18:58

SconessMcFloness · 14/05/2015 19:05

I like it, I'm tall but hourglass and A line skirts look great on me, I'm not too keen on the flared jeans look but I could get into the 70's librarian vibe.

Orangeanddemons · 14/05/2015 19:06

Those plastic dungarees are....just.....well...

To think M&S core market is 55+. I'm just sure they'd snap that little number up.....

RedwingWinter · 14/05/2015 19:08

I love it, apart from the price (but even so, it is suede). I especially like the length that covers the knees, the split at the front, and the fact it has pockets... Maybe not for summer, but imagine it with boots and a jumper (skulks away).

Coastingit · 14/05/2015 19:42

Oh yes squoosh. At Christmas time.

rootypig · 14/05/2015 20:25

squoosh what a funny coincidence, I watched that last night for the first time. So beautiful! I loved the 70s vibe and Ryan O'Neal has given me the horn

FiftyShadesOfSporn · 15/05/2015 06:34

Well, I've had my first 5,000 iu pill (from Amazon).

Will update in a week, if anyone's interested.

Erm ... that should have gone on the Vitamin D thread.

But if I suddenly spend £200 on a skirt, you'll know not to take Vitamin D3 supplements ....

It looks like an owl

SinglePringle · 15/05/2015 06:45

It's a highly fashionable skirt but M&S have got it spectacularly wrong. Again.

If you were the kind of person to buy a one season (max two) skirt for £200 quid, you'd be buying it from &OtherStories, Whistles, Paul & Joe, The Kooples or Cos etc. not Marks and Sparks!

If they'd done that skirt in a really good fake suede, sold it for £69.99, then it would have been a fashionistas dream. It would have been sold out a million times over.
