I've just put on a full component of war paint and thought, "Wow. I sure am wearing a lot of stuff on my face." Maybe I'm weird, but I thought it could be fun to list - in ascending order from skin up - what I've put on since my morning shower.

Skin Care:

Boots Time Delay Daily Brightening Tonic Water (AHA)
Indeed Hydraluron gel
Olay Regenerist Serum
Clinique City Block SPF 25

Makeup:

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector
Colore Science Sunforgetable Powder Sunscreen SPF 30 (I do the Michael Goss trick of powder under foundation)
Clinique Redness Solutions Foundation
Lancome Effacernes Longue Tenue (concealer)
NYX taupe contour
YSL Touche Eclat (highlighter)
Nars Orgasm blush
Touch of pressed powder buffed in (Michael Goss trick)
Soap and Glory Archery DIY Brow Bar (powder and wax)
Bobbi Brown eyeshadows
Bourjois felt tip liner
Seventeen Falsify mascara
No 7 lip liner
Lancome lipstick

I promise I'm not orange and scary!

Wow!

I've put on a bit of E45 and Piz Brun sunblock as I'm just about to go for a run.

Will top up with these and a touch of Liz Earle powder foundation, eye liner and mascara later.

Tinofroses · 14/04/2015 10:47

mosturiser Clarins, some other Clarins thing that I can't think of the name of but it's supposed to make you look radiant, foundation with spf 15, powder , eyeliner, eyeshadow and lipstick . I thought I was bad but your list is long. Thanks for the reminder though for city block , I have run out but need some badly.

BlueBananas · 14/04/2015 10:48

Hmm do people really have this many things for their face?!
I washed, moisturised, put foundation, concealer, powder, eyebrow stuff & mascara on and a bit of Vaseline on my lips but I don't think that counts does it
How long does it take you to get ready??

Justyouwaitandsee · 14/04/2015 10:49

Wow! That's a lot! I haven't put anything on - not even a splash of water as yet (but should perhaps do that). And while today is a lazy mat leave day, I think you are wearing more than the make up artist used on my wedding day!

Givenotake · 14/04/2015 10:49

Clarins spf20
Laura mercier concealer
benefit Dallas
Lip balm

Normally I'd have some tinted mousturiser but I've got a bit of a tan from the sunny days so my skin is looking better without.

Fabulassie · 14/04/2015 10:51

If I wear makeup, then this is pretty much what I wear, yeah. The skin care part takes maybe five minutes as I let a serum soak in/dry as I boil the kettle, etc.

The makeup takes maybe 10 minutes, tops.

Tinofroses · 14/04/2015 10:54

takes me 5 min tops , have dyed lashes and brows. I'm not great with make up so keep is simple.

SacreBlue · 14/04/2015 10:54

7 M& M's, two slices of toast, a couple of blackberries & a pint of tea.

Oh sorry ON my face not in…..

Nivea after a wash down with pear soap

RL20 · 14/04/2015 10:55

Nothing as yet!

Need to tint my eyebrows though so will be using Apraise products from the wholesalers, before I do put any makeup on.

Have been using Estée Lauder serums and moisturisers which were given to me as samples, but they have been awful! haven't done any good for my skin and actually brought up little dry patches on my cheeks?! Is that even possible! Since I've stopped using them in the past few days, they've cleared up! Anyway...

Clinique Anti Redness Foundation in Alabaster (because I'm non-tanned at the minute!).
No concealer needed as such with this.
Loreal GlamBronze Bronzing Powder (on the lookout for a new one!).
Natural Collection blusher.
Sleek eyebrow kit in Dark.
Miss Sporty mascara (cheap and cheerful for daytime!).
No idea what to put on lips as I haven't got a decent lipstick at the minute!

Gillybobs · 14/04/2015 10:56

Elemis pro collagen marine cream, Clinique Beyond perfecting foundation, Benefit cha cha tint, Bobbi Brown eyeshadow in stone, Rimmel liquid eyeliner and Diorshow mascara. No lippy yet

MrsCampbellBlack · 14/04/2015 10:56

OopTheShard · 14/04/2015 10:57

Splashed with water and dried.

Put on a little blob of Nivea face cream after the shower.

Just put in factor 50 sunscreen and some Bourjois CC cream.

Low maintenance today Grin

ZacharyQuack · 14/04/2015 10:58

Clarins Toner
Trilogy Rosehip Oil
L'Oreal eye cream
Aveeno SPF moisturiser
L'Oreal BB cream
Rimmel concealer
Nars powder
Bobbi Brown bronzer
Clinique Peach Pop blush
Bobbi Brown eyeshadow
Urban Decay eyeliner
L'Oreal brow pencil
Max Factor mascara
Revlon lipstick

Took about 10 minutes.

Fabulassie · 14/04/2015 11:00

On days off, I either wear no makeup or maybe just a bit of BB, mascara, and eyebrow pencil.

My night routine is simpler since I started using RetinA. I just put on RetinA and then a few minutes later put on Nivea - I don't want any moisturiser with "active" ingredients in it (like AHA's, etc) after RetinA. On days off I'm more likely to just put on more Nivea in the morning.

RL20, there are lots and lots of very poor but expensive skin care products out there. If you want to wear serum and moisturiser, then do some research. I like Paula Begoun's website for that stuff, as she's very good at understanding what all the ingredients are, what they do, and can tell if there's sufficient quantities to work correctly or if there is anything irritating in them. After reading her reviews carefully, I ended up going with Olay Regenerist products - most of which she rates very highly. Since starting using RetinA, I use less of it as I don't really want glycolic acid, etc., on my skin every day. I'm also much more diligent about sunscreen as RetinA makes you more vulnerable to sunlight.

At home -
Last of La Roche Posee intensive, hypo allergenic, moisturiser

At work:
Estee Lauder perfectionist serum ....stuff in a purple bottle (sample)
Boot No 7 Eye Serum
ROC moisturizer...pretty intensive stuff

Estee Lauder double wear
Estee lauder DW concealer
EL pressed powder
EL blush
Boots No 7 olive eyeshadow
Mac eyeliner in olive
Boots no 7 mascara in black/brown
Lipstick (I think Rimmel)

My work makeup bag is mostly Estee Lauder as I got all that together.

I have another full set of makeup at home, which has a MAC foundation/concealer/powder basis and various other bits. That is what I mostly take travelling.

I just bought a 2nd EL DW foundation though, and will buy concealer and powder to go with that - to re-do my travelling makeup kit (between work and travel to family etc, I do a fair bit so it's easiest to keep another full set for that). As I want to chuck the M&S foundation that I got and is officially my "home" set - I much prefer the MAC, and DW is handy packaging for travel.

I am also getting better at remembering my EL Advanced Night Protect and Repair serum at night before bed. And some more eye serum (either the Boots one or EL advanced global....something or other).

I also use Sanctuary body butter after showering on my body, and either Neutrogena, sanctuary or l'occitane hand cream as often as I can remember it (various ones on my desk, in the car, on the dressing table and side of kitchen worktop).

Just gone 40 and trying to keep the body beautiful (it's looking better in the past year than it had for a few years there, now that I am giving it some attention again).

Greengardenpixie · 14/04/2015 11:05

Nothing as of yet and probably nothing as im not planning on going anywhere.

Normally i would wear:

Nivea creme on my neck.
Olay total effects with a touch of foundation on my face
Benefit blusher on a stick
Pixie eyeliner
Benefit mascara
Max factor powder puff to blot out any shine!
Then i am good to go.....

SpecificOcean · 14/04/2015 11:05

Face wipe
Piz Buin all day long
Boots No7 eye shadow base, highlighter and blusher.
MUA eye shadow pink and silver grey and nude lip gloss.
L'Oreal Mascara.

Nabootique · 14/04/2015 11:08

Skincare:

Soap and Glory Ultimelt cleanser
Pixiglow
Tata Harper Hydrating Floral Essence
Tata Harper Rejuvenating Serum
Hyaluronic acid serum
Tata Harper Repairative Moisturiser

Make up:

Pixi Flawless and Poreless primer
Rimmel Nude foundation with SPF
Highbeam on cheek and browbones
Boots 17 eyebrow pencil
Max Factor Creme Puff blush (can't remember which shade)
Max Factor Masterpiece Glamour Extensions 3-in-1 mascara
Benefit Boing concealer
Little dust of a Natural Collection powder just on nose and chin

Sometimes I'll do an eyeshadow and/or lip colour as well, but not today.

mowglik · 14/04/2015 11:10

Fabulassie OT but I'm interested in your powder sunscreen! I use normal loose powder under my foundation too - does this work in the same way? Do you reapply the sunscreen like a normal powder during the day - I hate oily sunscreens and use LRP anthelios but still find it a bit much

Momagain1 · 14/04/2015 11:15

Nothing yet. I am a slattern, still in my pajamas and robe, desperate for the school holidays to be over.

When I bother, I will wash my face and use oil of olay moisturizer, apparently the traditional without sunblock will be adequate today. Woe is me, it is raining again.

My mom and aunt have used it since their teens, and have amazing skin for women in their 70s, so I do too.

SirVixofVixHall · 14/04/2015 11:16

Rinsed my face in water, then pressed in Suti organic face oil.
Avene sunblock, as I'm going to be in the garden and i burn very easily.
Laura Mercier concealer under eyes and on any redness.
Charlotte Tilbury eye pencil.
Estee lauder mascara.
Charlotte Tilbury stick blusher.
Will put on lipstick later probably.

TheSpottedZebra · 14/04/2015 11:18

I'm not up to much today, and not wearing makeup so I just have:
Simple eye roll on thing
REN vita mineral day cream
The dregs of a nivea moisturiser on my neck and decolletage as I am using stuff up, and hated that one on my face
Am going out to my allotment soon, so I shall add facial sun cream - I'm using La Roche Posay but I hate it as it makes me look really pale. A new one - Japanese or Korean, I forget which. An MN Sheepy buy - arrives tomorrow I think.
Also some Boots soltan for my neck, hands and arms.

Bonsoir · 14/04/2015 11:19

I washed it in the bath with a Clarisonic and Clarisonic cleansing gel. Put on Resultime Vitamin C cream, Resultime eye cream, a sweep of Guerlain Terracotta and Benefit eyebrow colour and gel.

Will add more colour later before I go out.

SirVixofVixHall · 14/04/2015 11:19

I've stopped using powder sunscreens because of the concerns about inhaling particles of titanium dioxide. But also on reading up about regular physical sunscreens there is mention of particles crossing the blood brain barrier, (particularly in the micronised ones, but to some degree in all) and also ageing skin. So I have sunscreen confusion at the moment. I can't use chemical screens as I react to them. OP you sound very clued up, what do you feel re sunscreens?
