I've just put on a full component of war paint and thought, "Wow. I sure am wearing a lot of stuff on my face." Maybe I'm weird, but I thought it could be fun to list - in ascending order from skin up - what I've put on since my morning shower.

Skin Care:

Boots Time Delay Daily Brightening Tonic Water (AHA)
Indeed Hydraluron gel
Olay Regenerist Serum
Clinique City Block SPF 25

Makeup:

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector
Colore Science Sunforgetable Powder Sunscreen SPF 30 (I do the Michael Goss trick of powder under foundation)
Clinique Redness Solutions Foundation
Lancome Effacernes Longue Tenue (concealer)
NYX taupe contour
YSL Touche Eclat (highlighter)
Nars Orgasm blush
Touch of pressed powder buffed in (Michael Goss trick)
Soap and Glory Archery DIY Brow Bar (powder and wax)
Bobbi Brown eyeshadows
Bourjois felt tip liner
Seventeen Falsify mascara
No 7 lip liner
Lancome lipstick

I promise I'm not orange and scary!

Wow. My face feels naked. E45 cream only, other than water to wash with.

jjwhite · 14/04/2015 11:20

No make-up today but skincare-wise:

MVOrganics Rose moisturiser around eyes and on my neck.
Kate Somerville Goat Milk cream on dry patches on face.
Kiehls Mango lip balm on lips

About to put on some SPF before having lunch in the sunshine so:
Eucerin SPF15 day moisturiser on face, and Alpha H SPF50 around eyes (no one wants a tan on their eye lids right, and it will combat the wrinkles!)

mowglik · 14/04/2015 11:22

I'll list mine too:

Elemis pro radiance cleanser
Nuxe floral water toner
Bare minerals firming eye cream
Hyaluronic acid serum
Nuxe anti fatigue face cream

Not wearing makeup yet but when I do:
Laura mercier primer
Collection 2000 loose powder
Maybelline everfresh foundation
Mac blot powder
Mac PowerPoint pencil
Mac fluid line gel liner
No 17 falsify HD
Mac sushi flower (eyeshadow as blusher)
Dior glow maximiser

Sounds a lot but all worn with a very light hand

TelephoneIgnoringMachine · 14/04/2015 11:24

Malki Dead sea minerals soap
Micellar water (forget the brand)
Una Brennan vitamin C serum
Clarins moisturiser

That's it

ReginaldBlinker · 14/04/2015 11:32

Out of the shower:

Radical Skincare Advanced Antioxidant Peptide Serum
Strivectin Advanced Retinol Eye Cream (even though the woman in the shop told me I shouldn't use it during the day due to sun sensitivity!)

Makeup:
Hourglass Primer
Clinique All-in-one concealer and foundation
Nars Radiantly Creamy Concealer
Laura Mercier Concealer
Chanel Bronzer
Laura Mercier Eyebrow Gel
Urban decay eyebrow powder
dior mascara
Revlon Lipstick
Laura Mercier gel bronzer

gininteacupsandleavesonthelawn · 14/04/2015 11:50

Coconut Oil (wiped off with hot muslin)
Clarins Orchid Oil
Creme de la mer face cream
Creme de la mer eye balm
Lancome miracle air de teint foundation
Chanel universal bronzer
nars orgasm multiple
rose vaseline

seems a bit excessive for the nursery run now i've typed it out

velourvoyageur · 14/04/2015 12:08

I've taken to scrubbing face face with Klorane oat conditioner and dermaflannel, then lots of cold water....face feels lovely afterwards. Bit of cicalfate on random dry patch.
Then loads of Ultrasun factor 50. Gorgeously sunny here. Avene sunblock lipbalm.
Bit of eyeliner, from Yves Rocher I think.

OP am jealous of your stash of lovely products, I'd be in heaven in your bathroom!

FrugalFashionista · 14/04/2015 12:09

Sunscreen
Dr Jart Premium BB cream
Nars blush
Nars eyeshadow, also worn as liner
Concealer for the undereye area
Rimmel mascara
MUFE HD powder
Revlon eye shadow on brows
Nars lipstick
A dab of Chanel sheer lipstick

If I streamline this routine it's just BB cream, eyeliner, brows, blusher and lipstick

Judydreamsofhorses · 14/04/2015 13:12

Skin:

Cleanse with Clarins Pure Melt removed with flannel
Estée Lauder serum
Clarins Hydraquench moisturiser

Makeup:

Dior Glow Maximiser
YSL foundation
Mac blusher
Guerlain Meteorites
Bobbi Brown mascara after curling eyelashes
Benefit Browzings
Nars lipstick

Pretty standard for me - I rarely wear eyeshadow but usually have bold lipstick.

Caboodle · 14/04/2015 13:17

Soap.Water.

OnlyLovers · 14/04/2015 13:21

Body Shop aloe cleanser
Clarins face scrub
(twice a week, Dermalogica face mask)
Dermalogica moisturiser

Dermalogica primer
Cheapo foundation (Revlon I think) on eyelids as base for eyeshadow
Mac neutral eyeshadows x 2 (in slightly different shades)
No 7 dark eyeshadow used as an eyeliner
Bobbi Brown under-eye concealer that doesn't work, my eye bags are that bad
Mac powder
Maybelline mascara

That's a normal day when I'm at work/out in public. On out-only-to-the-corner-shop days the skincare is the same but I don't use any make-up.

Occasionally for an out-to-the-caff day I'll use concealer, powder and mascara only.

I do not understand contouring or the use of coloured eyeshadows and I can't use eyeliner. Would quite like to learn.

VirginiaTonic · 14/04/2015 13:34

I cleansed with e'sp pro-cleanser and then applied E'spa Pro-serum. I followed this Paulas Choice SPF30 moisture boost moisturiser. Then I applied a Lancome foundation, and a little Bourjois highlighter pen under my eyes. I then used a Clinique loose powder to set. Followed with a little neutral eyeshadow to my lids and a darker shade at the lash lines. Then Lancome mascara and a touch of bronzer on my cheeks and an Estee Lauder neutral lipstick.

Fabulassie · 14/04/2015 13:44

I did not know that inhaling the titanium Dioxide particles could be bad for you. :(

It's just that I worry my City Block will somehow get diluted by other products put on top and since I use powder, anyway, I figured I'd use this stuff. And then I like to be able to touch up my sunscreen during the day, which you can't do with a lotion over makeup.

OP posts:
Carpaccio · 14/04/2015 13:52

Skin:
Cetaphil cleanser (in shower with Clarisonic)

As I have been tinting my lashes and brows I used Clinique Anti-blemish solutions clarifying lotion to make sure the lashes and brows were completely free of oils. I don't use this on a daily basis.
Then tinted lashes with two different products - a black instant one for my lashes and a brown one that takes time to develop (so I can take it off before it gets too dark).

RoC Hydra+ moisturiser

Makeup:
Estee Lauder Double Wear Light foundation
Guerlain Meteorites Perles d'Etoiles
Guerlain Terracotta Joli Teint in 02 naturel blondes bronzer
Chanel Illusion d'Ombre cream eyeshadow in Emerveille
Laura Mercier Caviar Stick cream eyeshadow in Copper
Diorshow Iconic Overcurl mascara
Dior Rouge Baume balm/lipstick in a bright pink but sheer colour
Chanel blusher in ultra rose (bright pink colour)

I'm not using SPF today as I'm not planning on being outside much. I usually use SPF 25 or SPF 40.

lurkingaround · 14/04/2015 14:59

Washed with Avene wash
LRP Anthelios SPF50
Chanel Vita aqua lumiere
Collection under eye concealer
Laura mercier powder (tiny bit)
Tiny bit of Bobbi Brown soft pink blusher
Dior Rosy glow
Eyeliner top lid
Max Factor Masterpiece mascara which I absolutely LOATHE but i have had to buy a hundred mascaras of late because of recurrent conjuctivitis and it was on offer

SevenEleven · 14/04/2015 15:07

Bio oil (thin layer) after shower
Avon tinted moisuriser with SPF
Clinique concealer
Light dusting of translucent powder
Blusher
Mascara
Lip balm

lurkingaround · 14/04/2015 15:33

Fabulassie, I'm not aware of any definitive evidence that titanium particles are bad for you, AFAIK they are considered safe up to a certain concentration, tho I think nanoparticles of it in powder form are best avoided (because of possiblity of inhaling).

The whole what type of sunscreen is best is very difficult. There are pros and cons to all of them.

SirVixofVixHall · 14/04/2015 16:21

The issue is that the particles in mineral foundations and sunscreens are so fine that they pose a lung cancer risk when inhaled. I had been wondering about this anyway, and then read several mentions of concerns and so binned my powders. However a recent google for mineral sunscreens (not the powder type), came up with the concerns that especially in the "invisible" type of physical blocks, the particles are fine enough to enter the bloodstream, and that this is a concern even with standard zinc/titanium blocks as with milling particles of various sizes are produced, and so some of them will be extremely minute. I am white as a bottle of milk and have always used a zinc oxide type block, as I have nasty reactions to several chemical sunscreen agents. So I'm a bit Confused at all of this...

A four-pack of baked beans! In bed with killer cold. Sent dp shopping. He was triumphantly holding up the beans which were on special offer when they slipped out of his hand and landed on my left cheekbone.

HelpMeGetOutOfHere · 14/04/2015 18:56
