Surprised there's not a thread on this already...

Thoughts?

I think the back of the dress is beautiful but the front is far too big, makes her look frumpy (and she is anything but). Still, gorgeous woman

Wouldn't be surprised though if a mini Murray is en route!

Don't be mean to Judy. She's a lovely lady.

billywhitechocolate · 12/04/2015 11:11

1st thing I thought - baby bump - or frumpy.

Roussette · 12/04/2015 11:26

I thought she looked fabulous - yes the dress was not structured or fitted but how refreshing to see someone not thin as a stick and style-ised to within an inch of their life. She looked radiant I thought.

Really really didn't like colour of bridesmaid dresses - not sure why I have such an aversion to that colour - if it had a bit more beige in it, it might have been nicer but it's a pink colour that is not one I like!

CharlieSierra · 12/04/2015 11:55

pinkfrocks exactly what I thought, highly unlikely.

Personally I thought the dress was awful, too big a skirt for the high waist, gave her a matronly bust. The back was nice, but the sleeves weren't right either, just below the elbow would have been so much more elegant. I thought Judy's coat was lovely, and her outfit wasn't bridal, but she was bound to get slagged off for wearing white/Ivory so why do it, there are lots of other colours to wear, it's just unnecessary.

pinkfrocks · 12/04/2015 12:00

I think Judy probably chose ivory and beige/ grey because it suits her pale skin and grey hair.

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with those colours. It's not as if she was wearing a style of dress that competed with the wedding dress. she was tailored and glam imo.

I think she would suit purple, lavender, or pale blue equally though.,

Crossfitmyarse · 12/04/2015 12:02

But Roussette she is actually as thin as a stick. You just wouldn't know it in that dress. If you look at the very last photo of her on that link, taken only the day before, you will see just how tiny she is.

noddyholder · 12/04/2015 12:05

I would love to see all the people saying she looked terrible! Grin

pinkfrocks · 12/04/2015 12:07

It's a shame to have a designer dress made just for you and then it not quite work.

I assume she wanted something frothy and flouncy and the designer agreed- without perhaps advising her on what she suited for her figure and age.

OR the designer forced a style on her as a showcase for her work and Kim thought it was ok.

I always think Kim can look a little old in many ways for her age- same age as one of my DDs- because she sometimes dresses in ways more fitting for women in their 30s or 40s, not mid 20s.

FabulousFudge · 12/04/2015 12:09

The bridesmaids dresses were hideous - what a colour!

Judy looked amazing, but a different colour of the same outfit would've been better.

FabulousFudge · 12/04/2015 12:10

I bet it cost mega money too, which makes it all the more of a shame it's not spectacular.

Crossfitmyarse · 12/04/2015 12:12

Bridesmaids are so tricky to get right though, all different heights, shapes, sizes and colourings.

Although who that colour suits god only knows.

NeedABumChange · 12/04/2015 12:16

The dress was awful. Vaguely 80s and gave her massive droopy boobs. Really poor choice. And she is usually so stylish.

First picture I saw I thought it was a joke dress from her hen do!

pinkfrocks · 12/04/2015 12:19

was surprised at her hair colour- much darker than it often is and TBH I don't think she suits it pulled back off her forehead compared to her usual style.

pinkfrocks · 12/04/2015 12:20

Agree need it made her look 3 sizes bigger than she is- ie a 14 instead of an 8.

Andcake · 12/04/2015 12:28

Worst celeb wedding dress I've seen in ages. Do view was 'blousey' just needed to be pulled in a bit! Made her look fat! The back seemed to belong to a different dress one a bout Katie price I my opinion though.
But tbh though doesn't matter they looked so happy

Twinklestein · 12/04/2015 12:38

I'm surprised that the designer, her bridesmaids and her mum didn't do their job, and steer her towards something that suited her better.

Judy looked ace.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 12/04/2015 12:43

It does nothing for her, a nice dress for someone more voluptuous I think. There were pictures of her the day before looking tiny in skinny jeans whereas the wedding dress is swamping her. They look very happy together

santamarianovella · 12/04/2015 12:49

They looked so ,so happy, and Kim is beautiful ,but my god, that dress reminds me of a peignoir set my mum used to wear in early 90s, it looks really long and oversized.

HarrietVane99 · 12/04/2015 12:53

The nicest outfit I saw in the photos linked to was the one worn by the young girl standing next to Judy holding a basket. Very sweet and simple.

I thought Kim's dress looked too big in the bust. I suppose they were going for a drapery effect that maybe didn't quite work. Maybe it looked better in RL.

Adult bridesmaid dresses are so often hideous.

aFirmGrip · 12/04/2015 13:23

I had adult bridesmaids. They wore knee-length cocktail dresses. Looked fab.

Justusemyname · 12/04/2015 13:26

People have been discussing the dress on the other t thread about Andy and Kim. I thought her dress was unusual and I hope they are both very happy together and if and when they have children they're left alone without endless speculation.

eurochick · 12/04/2015 13:30

She looked happy but the dress was wrong for her. It is a dress that would have flattered a big woman. It wasn't right for a flattish chested slim woman.

I liked Judy's outfit. It wasn't white, just pale.

I'm glad Andy mustered a smile.

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 12/04/2015 13:33

I just think it didn't fit well which is a shame. Some of the best money I spent on my wedding was having my dress made to measure and having a lot of fittings with my mum in tow who is a really talented dress maker and checked everything. If it was Jenny Packham, there is an option to have made to measure by then (if I recollect correctly) and I don't think k this is a good advert for them. The front is too gapey and the belt has been stitched too high up and not flat. A lot of money will have been spent on the dress and it's a shame to see it hasn't been fitted well

I also had a hair piece like Kim. I don't think her hairdresser fitted it properly in the day. I had a do like her's and my hairpiece was fitted at an angle so the band was hidden

AngelsWithSilverWings · 12/04/2015 13:38

I think the dress was beautiful and she looked stunning. I've had a good look at the photos and can't see why people are saying it doesn't suit her or fit her.

Lovely, unusual dress and I love the sleeves on it. Very classy.

TheHappinessTrap · 12/04/2015 13:41

I'm not a fan of wedding dresses but I think she looked great. I love that it wasn't a minimalist dress about streamlining the shape of her body.
