Ashamed of my beauty product hoard!

I have spent some time this morning trying to sort and tidy my beauty and toiletries cupboard and I am actually feeling veryShock andBlush at the sheer volume of stuff that I have, much of it lovely and expensive and unopened!

I reckon it could take me a couple of years to get through it all!

Buying make up as well as lovely bath and shower stuff seems to have become my go to/default pick me up when I want to impulse buy...... but seeing the hoard has brought me down.

anyone else like this and are there any threads that would encourage me to stop buying stuff and use all the lovely products that I have?

please tell me I am not the only person like this?

Anyone linked to these yet? Very handy for getting the last bits out of tubes.

myfavorite they are so good. We have them at home. One for toothpaste. One for tomato purée.

Those look like nifty wee key things, might have to invest!

The Drunken-QVC-TSV purchase arrived yesterday. I haven't tried Tarte before but it all looks lovely. Really should just send it back but having a rubbish old time of it at the minute so think I might just treat myself....

On the non-acquisition side of things, I have FINALLY finished up a Loreal Miracle Skin 15 Seconds Cleansing Oil [think that is what it is called!] It was fine, did the business but wont repurchase as I have a shedload of cleansers awaiting use, and I wasn't too keen on the way the oil left a sort of film on my eyes after use. Always tried to keep eyes shut and rinse well [generally used it in the shower] but nearly always had that oily blurriness after using it.

I finished my Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel Pads last night, although I do have a back up as I can't be without them Blush

Oh, so exciting, I have just finished a Clarins Face Moisturiser - I was so tempted to rub the last dregs on my arms yesterday to use it up! I probably would buy again, if I did not have others in the queue to be used up.

Ememem84 · 11/10/2015 10:04

Clarins peach toner/cleanser finished yesterday. I have another stashed away so that's prepped for opening today.

Body Shop aloe vera face wash finished. It seemed to do the job and didn't dry out or irritate my skin. I'd repurchase, but I already have another one in the cupboard.

Badgers are we having a second thread?

And we need to get a shift on using stuff up...we're probably gonna get a load more stuff for Christmas!!

IPokeBadgers · 11/10/2015 15:08

My goodness, we have nearly filled this thread! Do we want another one? I for one have enjoyed it and definitely think it has has a positive effect on my habits....even if there were a couple of little blips I know that I definitely haven't spent quite so much this year on unnecessary beauty buys as I might have done otherwise!

i definitely think a new thread is needed. I've really enjoyed it and it has really helped me knowing I'm not the only hoarder out there!

apart from a recent boots online/topcashback blip (i was testing it...so needed to buy something) i have hardly spent any money this year on cosmetics/beauty.

i have started really thinking about what i buy. the things i use regularly, i have taken pictures of, so i can remember what i use, and buy what i like instead of buying something new, using it, disliking it and then leaving it in the cupboard/spares box.

im also where possible buying online. so it means less wandering around boots and magpie-ing beautiful looking products.

Paperblank · 11/10/2015 15:43

Oh we definitely need a new thread!! Grin

FiveShelties · 11/10/2015 20:19

Thank you everyone for contributing to this thread: has been lovely being in amongst like-minded people! Hopefully we can continue on the new thread to enjoy our "stuff" and be a bit more mindful about the acquisition of "new stuff"

Says she who was drunkenly buying make-up on QVC recently! Blush
