I liked ( and bought) this in black www.marksandspencer.com/v-neck-jumper/p/p22379655 - obv usual website disclaimer. Pity not in a better fabric but will look ace with a vest under and my leatherette trousers.

also this coat was LOVELY in grey www.marksandspencer.com/buttonsafe-wool-blend-double-breasted-coat-with-cashmere/p/p22312160

and would have liked this if not so long www.marksandspencer.com/cotton-rich-striped-pencil-skirt/p/p22357825 here

Like those awful Boden bloggers?

I can see M and S doing it and getting it hilariously wrong.

Quangle · 28/01/2015 10:12

I have these and they look good and are v cheap

And to reiterate everyone's point about the website, I love the stripy shoes in this picture but on the website they are not styled so look less inspiring

BillStickersIsInnocent · 28/01/2015 10:51

Armpitt would do a brilliant job!

BillStickersIsInnocent · 28/01/2015 10:51

Quangle I love those stripey shoes, especially with the midi skirt. I wonder if I could pull it off.

Lambzig · 28/01/2015 12:37

The navy wrapped blouse Frankie linked to above arrived today. It is lovely and I think I will get a lot of wear and a bargain price. I will have to change the cuff buttons, but that's my peculiarity.

I wish they would reduce the amount of styles and up the fabric quality a little. There are a few things I would buy if the fabric wasn't so nasty.

Their jumpers this winter all seemed to be either cashmere (lovely but not an everyday fabric for me) or acrylic. Where is the merino and lambs wool they used to do?

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 28/01/2015 13:00

I went to M&S today, and what I saw that was nice in real life included:

This bag: perfect for A4 papers and/or laptop. Lovely soft pebbled leather, minimal hardware: www.marksandspencer.com/leather-organiser-tote-bag/p/p22337321#bvHeader

This coat: cotton rich, monochrome and sleek: www.marksandspencer.com/cotton-rich-graphic-print-coat/p/p22357874

Brillenbar - your dress looks lovely in RL, and the white bit off the print, is definitely white, not blue. I can't wear polyester [fans overheated self], but if I could, I would like it.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 28/01/2015 13:02

BillStickers - this shoes you linked to (www.marksandspencer.com/leather-pointed-toe-stiletto-high-heel-court-shoes-with-insolia/p/p22365915?source=affwindow&extid=af_a_Uncategorised_78888&comgp=78888&awc=1402_1422450064_4e2043aa83b1baaad2a0be0879349c47) come in a beautiful light blue, but.... the pointed toe is just a bit too long for me. Would make my feet look even bigger than they are.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 28/01/2015 13:02

those not this

noddyholder · 28/01/2015 13:04

Love the bag

noddyholder · 28/01/2015 13:06

I saw the OP coat too lovely quality and colours but I am too busty for it to sit right

OnIlkleyMoorBahTwat · 28/01/2015 14:08

I haven't RTFT but I had a good look in M&S a couple of days ago and was very disappointed.

I normally managed to find cheap dark skinny jeans, jumpers and tops and I just found a sea of '1980s bank counter staff' blouses and dresses.

I normally spend a couple of hundred pounds twice a year there but all I bought was a multipack of pants. And they annoyed me because I wanted all black and they only had packs that were half black and half white. I never wear white pants as we have hardly any white stuff and I CBA doing a white wash for about a quarter of a wash.

Bearleigh · 28/01/2015 14:15

IlkleyMoor we could trade - I only like white pants so have stopped buuying Marks' ones because of the mixed pack thing. Read this thread M&S!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/01/2015 14:31

I always buy their 3 for 2 knickers, usually in plain black with a bit of lace on the legs. They are comfortable and quite pretty, and good value on the 3 for 2 offer (work out at £4 a pair). And the Rosie silk ones are lovely too, but I can only afford a few pairs of those!

Armpit - I looked at the grey jacket you mentioned on Twitter but decided not to try it on. The fabric was so thin that it was see-through in places, and it looked a bit too droopy and Toast-esque overall.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/01/2015 14:32

Noddy - I saw this and thought of you. It's the sort of thing I really wish suited me, as it would be great with denim shorts in the summer.

noddyholder · 28/01/2015 14:35

That is so me! I will be taking a look this weekend Thanks

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/01/2015 14:46

frankietwospots · 28/01/2015 21:38

@Lambzig - glad you like the blouse! It's lovely isn't it! V glam. Wish they still had the rust colour in stock as I'd have bought that too.

Armpitt · 28/01/2015 21:42

agree jacket not so nice in rl remus

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/01/2015 21:44

A shame - I liked the price and the idea, just not the reality.

Lucked · 28/01/2015 21:56

I will get my order tomorrow I bought the navy wrap blouse too (right up my street) as well as the bomber which may not work with my current body shape.

Also these boots but not sure about blue leather

And jeans in grey. Already have these in another colour.

Lambzig · 29/01/2015 12:07

Frankie me too, would love the rust colour.

Now just need to go somewhere nicer than the school run to wear it.

noddyholder · 29/01/2015 14:19

Really nice 'work' type trousers in benetton in sale for £12 ankle length black lovely material

GeorginaWorsley · 29/01/2015 15:23

Have been in the Chester store today and was disappointed.
I saw a nice leather edged biker cardigan jacket thing in Autograph but that's about it. Plus a slate blue handbag.
Oh and bought a Rosie for Autograph bra in cafe a lait colour in sale.
Some of colours I can only describe as hideous.
The Autograph palette was nice, navy, blush, grey and cream plus black.
Why can't they extend that sort of stuff across the store?

VictorineMeurent · 29/01/2015 15:49

Most of the new stock is horrid - far too much polyester an acrylic. Things look nice on the hangers and then you touch them and realise the are thin and cheap. I have, however, bought these shoes in both colours. They will be fine for work in the summer and are a nice compromise between flast ( which I hate) and the sort of heels I'm struggling to wear these days.

ZenNudist · 29/01/2015 16:04

I have been losing patience with m&s for some time now. The fabrics are awful, the fit frumpy, the durability non-existent.

I used to shop there a lot (to my shame) but no longer.

Recently they've hit an all time low and I genuinely don't think they're needed in the high street any more. The colours in store right now are nauseating. Totally unwearable. I'd been planning on hitting autograph for a few workwear items but ew, so awful!

Lurid pinks greens and yellows.

I still buy dc clothes there but prefer next. I food shop there for convenience from time to time but clothes. No way!
