hattymattie · 11/12/2014 19:59

OoopsConfused - Beachy how is your finger?

Rose your dinner sounds lovely I'll come tooSmile.

lalsy · 11/12/2014 20:27

Extremely high addle Grin.vNot really - we were unlucky as we switched the day after the area developed a slow-to-fix fault. It seems fine now but it does cut out or slow down sometimes - this is known as balancing or something can can last 10 days.

Rose, me too, sound cracking.

Drywhiteplease · 11/12/2014 20:36

Sorry for butting in, but, molly, the prancersise YouTube clip was hysterical! Have been laughing so much I'm crying. The title to this thread is fantastic. You are v funny ladies Xmas Smile

Blackduck · 11/12/2014 20:42

"BTM didn't you have a finger too?"
Couldn't that be read in a number of ways ;)

Rose you are fab - stop stressing!!!

bigTillyMint · 11/12/2014 21:17

AddleShock And you have a teen boyGrin
But, my purple finger is sort-of back to normal, though if it gets really cold, it goes a bit purple around the jointConfused

Hello DryWhite!

Evening All,
It's my birthday today! Had a rather nice time (from very low expectations) and some lovely presents (after much successful heavy hinting to dh) so all good.
Came home to find a very 'interestingly' shaped SS parcel. Most intriguing. Am saving it for Christmas Day. Thank you whichever lovely Crepey friend sent it.
Ds1 has Cambridge i/v tomorrow and wants me to go with him so I am. I think my role is to be his sherpa and to soak up all the anxiety on his behalf. Am v worried about saying the wrong thing at the wrong moment. Wish him luck and me strength please...

Much strength from me to all those with bolshy teenagers, grumpy dhs, unappreciative theatre directors, painful teeth etc etc.

A belated but loud WHOOP! from me to Stopps and Herbs for their teaching prowess. Brilliant.

bigTillyMint · 11/12/2014 21:21

Happy Birthday QQFlowersWineCake

I can't imagine you saying the wrong thing at the wrong moment, but good luck, strength and anything else you need!

Rosebag · 11/12/2014 21:30

Happy Birthday QQ!!!!!!!!!!!

Auriga · 11/12/2014 21:33

Struggling to catch up again. Stropps, well done :) you have nailed your assignment with one finger whilst taming lions, wrangling ferrets and keeping many other balls in the air with your other digits, not to mention your nose and elbows. So to speak. Hope this helps you to look forward to next term with some confidence.

Rose, I think after the week you've had, you need a cold. Give in gracefully, go to bed with hot drinks and demand chocolate. Dinner party sounds good, tell someone else to cook it. Rest. Watch videos of cute kittens.

NU I'm looking forward to your entries in Lalsy's Crepey Cookbook. How is your littlest grandson?

MrsS I would love to meet some of your colleagues. I would say yes, of course I know MrsS, famous for her discretion, never a word out of place, you're so lucky to work with her, it must be good to know all your secrets are safe with her :) and then smile opaquely like this :)

Lots of good teen wisdom here

Auriga · 11/12/2014 21:37

Cross-post

Happy Birthday QQ. Touching that DS wants you with him. My guess is you don't need to say much, just drive and buy hearty food.

And hello & welcome, DryWhite.

And btw Herbs I like the thought of you coming over all Herod on babies who cry while your DS is performing. Dare I ask how it went?

NUFC69 · 11/12/2014 21:39

Happy birthday to QQ. Wine Thanks Your day sounds lovely.

So it's all round to Rose's for a well balanced meal. I am also a marzipan fiend and can eat it until I feel sick. MrsS's almond and poppy seed cake really hits the spot, too.

NUFC69 · 11/12/2014 21:47

Thanks for asking about DGS2, Auriga he is improving, but consultant reckons that it will take a month for him to get over it. Shock

The 3.10 yo DGS1 pointed out that he hadn't yet seen Santa and was told that DM would take him soon. He then wanted to know if a lot of people died would it mean he would see Santa sooner. Grin

bigTillyMint · 11/12/2014 22:02

Talking of Herod, my little darlings were enjoying the Nativity story and especially the bit about Herod last week. However, they were most disappointed to find that I did not have a Herod model in my DC's old (ELC) nativity set

bigTillyMint · 11/12/2014 22:03

Oh NU, that must be worrying. Hope he gets better soon.

I love marzipan too!

motherinferior · 11/12/2014 22:16

Happy birthday QQ!

Hello Drywhite.

Survived skool concert. Saw WAF. We discussed pants.Grin

herbaceous · 11/12/2014 22:40

Hb QQ!

Nativity, and thus Herod-style baby-killing, isn't happening until Monday, so watch this space. If the police ask, you don't know nuffink, right? In the meantime, he was Man in the Moon in his Perform end of term performance today, at which I was under strict instructions not to look at him, clap, laugh, or smile. He did really well, though, delivering his long line with aplomb.

In academic news, as part of our next assignment we had to present a 20hour course design of our devising today, and frankly ours was like totally the best.

cremolafoam · 11/12/2014 22:50

Ach QQ happy birthday! Thanks

lalsy · 11/12/2014 22:53

QQ, many happies! What a lovely day. And good luck to your ds for tomorrow. Sherpa and lunch buyer is a very important role I reckon. I've been thinking about what you said about daughters/university, very interesting thank you.

NU, poor little poppet, really hope he bounces back a bit faster.

Hello DryWhite, we like anyone who thinks we are funny Grin.

Have started to hunt down recipes from previous threads (what a joy), I will post in due course with a list of what I have found and we can fill in the gaps.

So there has actually been an outbreak of mystery purple swollen fingers amongst crepeys?

cremolafoam · 11/12/2014 23:26

I have a Xmas tree related eye injury.
It had better not be purple by morning, Lalsy.Grin
QQ hope you and ds have a smooth trip tomorrow, and good luck to him with the I-view. Fingers crossed.

Proper snow here. Falalalalah!

MollyAir · 11/12/2014 23:35

Happy Birthday, QQ! Good luck for tomorrow, 'provide cake' would be my advice. Eat cake yourself while he is being tortured. And don't ask questions, but listen in a nice motherly way, possibly with Auriga's opaque smile. Smile

CointreauVersial · 11/12/2014 23:48

Happy Birthday, QQ (still... just!)

No finger injuries here, but I do have bruises on my legs from the ladder rungs, acquired while decorating.

Snow, Crem, how exciting! Just blowing a gale here (thus distributing the contents of our bulging skip across the drive) . We missed the fabled "weather bomb".

TGI (nearly) F, though. It has been another killer week. Tomorrow evening DH and I are coming into London for his work Christmas Party, somewhere near Paddington. I worked for the same company, long ago (left nearly 18 years ago, to be precise), and there are still one or two old timers I catch up with. But mostly, we only go along for the food.... Blush

hattymattie · 12/12/2014 06:46

QQ - belated happy birthday for yesterday and very best of luck to DS - we were doing that this time last year but all the stress has proved very much worth it. Fingers crossed for him. I did go up with my DD and spent a very happy day wandering round the shops and spotting other anxious parents.

Today I am going to attempt gym but avoid doing any thing with my right shoulder which is still a bit dodgy.

MontserratCaballe · 12/12/2014 06:59

Belated happy birthday QQ and huge amounts of luck to DS. I hope everything goes well for him and that you find the right balance between offering support and ingestion of cake.

I had to cancel my night out last night as I am shattered. This weekend is shaping up to be a full one too. I need the sofa and egg on toast really.
