Tell me I'm being stupid

I had my hair cut today, pretty drastically. I tend to not wear it down, ever. Mainly because of a long history of bullying and snide comments over my hair. I like the new cut BUT it was meant to be able to be tied up, and it's too short
Now I'm panicking

I don't think you're being stupid but I do think you are still affected by the bullying. If you've always worn your hair a certain way it can take a while to be comfortable with a new hairstyle. You know your new hair looks good, keep telling yourself that and ready yourself for all the compliments.

Worst comes to worst you just need to wait a few weeks till it grows a bit.

I am, I know that. Just having a moment that people will laugh at me
I'm veering between that and then thinking actually it will break me of my habit of wearing it up

Why? Because of the colour and the curls. Mainly the colour. I've coloured it into oblivion but it's back to natural colour at the moment

That's such a shame you were bullied for your hair. These things can leave a lasting legacy but I hope these comments are helping you. Those bullies were stupid and jealous. Your hair is a real asset to you!

Its when people stare or look that I struggle. Guess I'm thinking they are wanting to take the piss. Part of me knows they are probably just looking straight through me and not noticing but it's such a hard thing to shake off

It's beautiful - the colour, the cut, the curls (proper ones not my frizzy mess). And it suits you and looks lovely with those glasses.
