Tell me I'm being stupid

I had my hair cut today, pretty drastically. I tend to not wear it down, ever. Mainly because of a long history of bullying and snide comments over my hair. I like the new cut BUT it was meant to be able to be tied up, and it's too short
Now I'm panicking

I have a friend who has a 12 year old daughter with beautiful long red hair. A few months ago she was attacked at school. An older girl told a younger one to ' get the ginger' and my friend's daughter was attacked and kicked. Fortunately the attacker was expelled ( partly because she had also attacked a teacher in the past ). I'm just telling you this because children are often picked on for being a bit different. Doesn't mean there's anything wrong with them. It's now time for you as an adult to hold your head up high and appreciate yourself as the beautiful young woman you are. Don't let the bullies win!

God, people are weird. I have curly hair which people were snide about at school. It's just hair for god's sake. Why on earth would you pick on someone because their hair is different to yours? Totally their problem and not yours.
