Tell me I'm being stupid

I had my hair cut today, pretty drastically. I tend to not wear it down, ever. Mainly because of a long history of bullying and snide comments over my hair. I like the new cut BUT it was meant to be able to be tied up, and it's too short
Now I'm panicking Blush
Ridiculous I know

I was bullied for my hair too.., now it's my crowning glory!! Embrace your beautiful hair... It is stunning. Sometimes we are our worst critics out of fear. Be strong, it is a lovely cut. I was the same, ways wearing my hair up, with a similar colour and texture to yours, then oneday after a fab cut just thought what the hell and never ever wore it up again.,, ever. Be brave, be strong, enjoy your new hair!

murphys · 18/11/2014 08:12

Good, you were probably bullied as the bully was jealous of you. I would absolutely love to have hair like yours. And I really mean it, I am not just saying that you make you feel better (although I hope it does Wink )

I think that cutting your hair is a MAJOR step forward in your counselling. Well done on this step.

You are really gorgeous btw.

Turquoiseblue · 18/11/2014 08:13

One word - stunning! Embrace it.

Eliza22 · 18/11/2014 08:45

You have beautiful hair. The co,our is amazing and those ringlets! People spend a fortune trying to make their hair do that! (Mines poker straight....I know).

I like it. People on here like it. Try to like yourself Flowers(easier said than done when you've been bullied, I know).

waitingforgodot · 18/11/2014 09:59

beautiful hair, beautiful lady!

hellsbellsmelons · 18/11/2014 10:41

I was bullied for my hair too.., now it's my crowning glory!!
This is exactly the same for my sister.
She has amazing curls and is ginger. Can you imagine the stick she got at school.
Everyone loves it now.
My hair is similar to yours (not as curly) and is a little bit shorter.
People always compliment me when I haven't straightened it!
Embrace, embrace, embrace!
It's fab hair!!

Littlemoocow · 18/11/2014 10:51

OP your hair is individual, its funky, it's a feature, it's interesting rather than boring straight brown hair (which I have by the way). Of course when you're a teenager, all you want is hair the same as everyone else's, and you don't want to stand out. This has been exhasibated (sp?) by the bullying which is awful. However, you are now a grown woman with a pretty face and striking hair. This is what a lot of women want, I think most women would be over the moon with a pretty face and striking hair. Embrace your hair, it is a feature and in a GOOD way!

Eliza22 · 19/11/2014 07:37

Seriously, we're not just saying it too cheer you up....you've great hair! Leave it alone and enjoy! Smile

ARGHtoAHHH · 19/11/2014 08:46

OP, I love your hair! I was pointed in the direction of this thread (I started a thread called short hair, double chin, big boobs )

I want short hair. I have curly hair too (well sometimes wavy, sometimes more straight - it has a mind of its own). But my hair isn't as luxurious as yours! You don't have a bit of frizz in sight. I love it! You have given me more food for thought about going for the chop.

How are you feeling this morning about it? Do you have to do much styling? I would not want to put any effort into doing my hair, I'm very lazy when it comes to that. I literally wash and go. No products.

Are you finding it weird not being able to tie it up?

goodasitgets · 19/11/2014 12:17

I have to use products or my hair looks awful but that's the same no matter what length it is
Finding it weird... I think it's going to take me a while!!!

goodasitgets · 19/11/2014 12:18

Oh and I'm 34K with a double chin Grin

OP posts:
ARGHtoAHHH · 19/11/2014 13:06

you don't look as though you have a double chin!

and loving that you have a big bust. Maybe I CAN do this after all :)

goodasitgets · 19/11/2014 13:09

This is how short I was a while ago (a lot longer than it is now!!)

linky no worky!

ARGHtoAHHH · 19/11/2014 13:15

Just copied and pasted into my browser

Wow what a shot! You look fabulous! That hairstyle is EXACTLY what I want. But my hair isn't as thick and luxurious as yours and would likely look limp and scraggly in comparison.

Love the dress - right up my street. Where did you get it?

Can I follow you on instagram? Am thinking I might get some style tips! :)

goodasitgets · 19/11/2014 13:16

Dress is by collectif and called dolores doll, and yes follow away Smile

following!

KidsAreDrivingMeNuts · 19/11/2014 13:24

Beautiful hair, I love the colour wish it came in a bottle Smile

sunflower49 · 19/11/2014 13:28

I would kill to have hair like that! I LOVE red hair, love curly hair, would do anything to swap my straggly fine blonde locks for yours.

I agree It's hard to shake off what feelings we develop over a long time. Listen to us though!

Lost31 · 19/11/2014 13:29

omg it looks nice :) dont worry

hoppus · 19/11/2014 13:38

It's beautiful as everyone else has said! Just to point out how ridiculous bullies are, I have poker straight fair hair which was always called ugly. You can't win, straight/curly fair/red/dark as it's not your problem it's theirs.

You look great.

TinkerbellaPan · 19/11/2014 20:47

Your hair is gorgeous, and the cut really suits you.

People probably aren't staring at you in the street, everyone is far too self absorbed, but I would definitely be checking out your hair if I saw you Wink I'm a curly girl so curly hair always catches my eye.

Just take it day by day and you'll get used to it and start to feel more confident Flowers

hellodave · 20/11/2014 11:17

Just wanted to say to op i have hair similar to yours (but has gone more strawberry blonde as ive got older).
I havent had it cut for roughly 5 yrs and wear it scraped back everyday.... lots of ppl used to take the piss out of it... my dad/ppl at school /boyfriends. I have a bit of a complex about wearing it down.
However after seeing your cut and tthe comments Ive decided to go for it and gwt a bob that i can wear down.
Thank you OP and i hope youre starting to get used to it/love it

goodasitgets · 26/11/2014 02:06

Oh hellodave I've only just seen your message :)
So pleased, you know how I feel about wearing t down then! I'm getting more used to it,had a go at straightening it and it turned out like this. Post when you've had it done!

Seriously? It looks fantastic! Such gorgeous curls, and spots?! Hello! You have lovely skin. It will take time to get used to if it's a drastic change but it's lovely and if I saw you out somewhere I would be envious of your gorgeous hair Thanks
