I wonder if anyone knows if the selling scheme for these products is above board. My DD has an American FB friend who sent her some 'revolutionary' mascara with which she was very pleased. This friend has now anounced that DD has joined the Younique sales team.I've read all the stuff on line about this and it does sound genuinine but as I'm a cynical old bag I wonder if any Mumsnetter's know more than the power of Google.TIA.

Is it all calm blue waters for as far as the eye can see (with no mascara)?

lurkingaround · 27/10/2014 11:30

Oops forgot

Sent from my bed

So this is what's been filling up my fb feed. My friend has obv exhausted her stella & dot mlm opportunities & this is the new one. Bound to finally make her fortune then...

JillJ72 · 01/11/2014 14:11

Ah, interesting read.

Pageatch did you get the Maldives into chicken keepers in the end? You could have been laying back on your sofa and thinking of your hens whilst watching black-tipped sharks splash playfully on the horizon....

Anyway, I logged onto FB to find out I'd been added to a closed group. I came to the fount of all MN knowledge (Advanced Search function) to see if the nest of vipers was on the case. Yay! I have left the FB group. I'm v happy buying my mascara from M&S or Boots, thank you very much. And I don't like the idea of sticking fibers (!) to my eyelashes, thank you very much.

JillJ72 · 01/11/2014 14:11

Pagwatch that should be.

Wanna hear a cool 'fact' ... 71% of the richest women are in the network marketing industry ;) #just saying

Lifeloveandlaundry · 27/01/2015 20:47

Hi @clairesbeautyboxx, it's going really well! I'm having fun and learning a lot about the business. Are you in network marketing too?

no chemicals- LOLZ

Please familiarise yourself with the definition of chemical.

chemistry.about.com/od/chemistryfaqs/f/whatchemical.htm

MmeMorrible · 17/03/2015 19:44

No chemicals? None? What is it that you think the products are made from then?

TheIronGnome · 17/03/2015 23:11

I've got the mascara, it is totally different to any other mascara I've seen and works well but it is quite a faff- I save it for special occasions only!

I don't sell the products, and don't intend to. The girl I bought mine off has some interesting selling methods but she's never hassled me to buy anything else, or to sell for her so I'm happy!

CeeceeBloomingdale · 18/03/2015 07:24

Pmsl at the term 'presenter'. I had this type of mascara product years ago, just something cheap from boots. It was too much hassle then, so I won't be buying into it now. No company worth its salt would make you buy its products as samples. They make their money from the starter kits by the look of it.

codandchipstwice · 18/03/2015 07:51

I've found talc or face powder on eyelashes and then normal mascara is perfect as fibre mascara

Dawndonnaagain · 18/03/2015 15:27

sswift08 Do you know what H20 is, it's a chemical, you need to be careful of those chemicals, love.

OttiliaVonBCup · 18/03/2015 18:40

Whoever started using that horrible word 'empower' ought to be made to wear the bloody spider mascara all the bloody time.

lurkingaround · 18/03/2015 19:08

Totally with you Ottilia. The term makes my teeth itch.

I hear empower, I smell somewhat underhand business, fragranced with someone making a packet, and an acrid after-smell of many women left in the same smelly shit they were always in.

sswift08 · 18/03/2015 19:41

It's actually a high end make up comparable to Mac and Bare Minerals, I really don't understand how you can make a judgement based on NOT trying something, the only difference is it's only available to buy through a presenter like myself, it's only been available to buy in the UK since November, so can understand people being skeptical, but you should try it, it really is lovely make up, and I don't understand what the problem is, how it is sold, what's the difference buying from someone who is knowledgeable about the product and wears it themselves and buying a lipstick from someone who knows nothing about the product and they are only in the shop for their daily pay packet and don't care about your skin. Also like I said before some of the profit goes to a good cause and there's nothing better than EMPOWERING WOMEN AND CHILDREN, it feels great.....!!!!!

KittensOnAPlane · 18/03/2015 19:51

i got switched off at 'presenter', and 'empower' can fuck right off
