OK, following on from 'Bag Recommendations for £900 thread', I took the 'bag by the handles' and started a bag lovers thread. This is not a 'OMG why would you spend that amount on a bag' thread, its purely a lust thread.

We look, we lust, we love, we discuss. Grin

My first offering the new Gucci Lady Tassel in mandarin. Love this...

Karbea- who would buy ANYTHING from E-bay!

frogmore6 · 29/08/2014 12:05

Sorry I shouldn't have said that!. It's just that some things on E-bay are rather questionable.

cardamomginger · 29/08/2014 12:07

Oi!!! I'm selling a Mulberry on Ebay!!!

HolgerDanske · 29/08/2014 12:13

Ohhh which bag?

LinusDKD · 29/08/2014 12:15

I also changed my bag and am using my indigo Hobo today. (Which also comes in a gorgeous green for the pp who is looking for a green handbag)

marsha a navy Trio would be so you but maybe you need to branch out a bit? There are other bags than Trios, you know! Wink.

That said, I do love my large burgundy Trio.

Pastperfect · 29/08/2014 12:37

Frogmore if the pic you posted is actually your bag then probably your DH....

cardamomginger · 29/08/2014 12:40

Chocolate pebbles Somerset satchel. In excellent condition Grin!

santamarianovella · 29/08/2014 12:42

frog beautiful bag, gorgeous colour,

I love the colour of the coach bag too,

cardamom, and this is just my personal opinion, the RM just looks like any bag you can find on the high street, so if you want a seasonal bag, that you will use for a short period, I will look for a cheaper one.
, but if you want your bags to last longer I would rather save and splurge on the Prada,

Concerning, buying from US, I don't think it's wise,I'd rather get something from where I am , or a brand that covers international warranty , just incase something happens,

navy trio sounds nice,

Pastperfect · 29/08/2014 12:50

cardamom have you sold a bag on eBay?

I'm considering selling a couple but not sure best place

Pastperfect · 29/08/2014 12:50

Sold a bag on eBay before

NoArmaniNoPunani · 29/08/2014 13:01

Anyone sold on vestaire collective? I feel safer buying there than eBay as they check they are all real.

cardamomginger · 29/08/2014 13:07

Not yet pastperfect. Have sold other stuff - mostly niche perfume decants. Have bought a couple of bags on Ebay (plus other stuff - high end clothing, kids clothes, antique silver). I think you can get a feel for a seller from their feedback and the sorts of things they usually sell. It is not without risk though, especially as Ebay always, and sometimes quite irrationally, takes the side of the buyer (even if the seller gets completely stuffed in the process).

cardamomginger · 29/08/2014 13:39

Anyone sold through naughtipidgins?

MilkThistle187 · 29/08/2014 14:08

I have sold a few Mulberries, Marc Jacobs and Anyas on ebay, I sell them when I get bored and buy new ones. Talk to the seller, look at their feedback and get them to take extra photos. Do your research and study Mulberry's photos and compare with the ebay ones. Get seller to agree to a refund if you're unhappy with it when it arrives (paying through paypal makes it fairly straight forward to get a refund). When it arrives, compare the quality - thickness of the leather, sturdiness of the hard wear, etc -with the real thing if you can.

I haven't bought a dud yet Wink

MrsCampbellBlack · 29/08/2014 14:22

I wouldn't personally buy a bag on ebay or sell one. Once I've had enough of a bag I tend to give them to my mum or sister.

But let's start bitching on this thread - it was meant to be nice!

Pastperfect · 29/08/2014 14:46

Yes sorry madamecholet started a lovely thread Blush
I just think it's a bit off posting a pic of an obviously fake bag.

I'll move along

HolgerDanske · 29/08/2014 14:50

Fake bag? Hmmm intrigue.... I must say there is one photo on the thread in which the proportions don't seem quite right to me. Colour's great though. But hey ho, I'm just here for happy times of lusting after gorgeous bags Smile

MrsCampbellBlack · 29/08/2014 14:58

God, I mean let's NOT start bitching Blush

HolgerDanske · 29/08/2014 15:01

Talking ebay, I am sooo not a quality handbag expert. I wouldn't be able to trust myself to be sure it was authentic. Which is probably a good thing or I'd be stalking ebay constantly and spending every spare penny on all manner of bags Wink

But please let's keep this a lovely friendly happy handbag-lusting thread?

Pastperfect · 29/08/2014 15:09

Sorry I'm being an arse Blush

I love the woven look of BV's but have never seen a shape that I love.

Saw this Tom Ford bag in Selfridges recently and loved it

Pastperfect · 29/08/2014 15:38

I think the woven look wears really badly too - I have some kind of woven sandles and they looked rubbish very quickly

BecauseIsaidS0 · 29/08/2014 15:52

Oh that Tom Ford bag is just beautiful! (like everything he does, sigh. Ok, except maybe sunglasses)

Actually, the authentic vs fake bag thing is something that I often ponder. My mom once bought me a LV bag for not a lot of money from some website, and even though for that money it clearly could not be authentic, as much as I examine it looks either a really good fake, or a back-door-of-factory one. But I don't have the guts to take it to a LV shop and ask them to examine it.

I've been wanting a (basic) Birkin for as long as I can remember, but even if I had the money (which I don't but I'm saving), when you ask in the shops they pretty much laugh in your face, and you have to keep nagging them until one day, or so I hear, they tell you they've got one in stock, and you have to take it whichever colour/leather/hardware it is or wait until the next one. So out of curiosity I've found what appears to be a reputable reseller on Instagram, but I always have the nagging doubt, is this person truly a reseller or are they just really good fakes? Because it would be a very expensive mistake!!!

A friend got a beautiful navy Kelly bag at a Christies auction
