OK, following on from 'Bag Recommendations for £900 thread', I took the 'bag by the handles' and started a bag lovers thread. This is not a 'OMG why would you spend that amount on a bag' thread, its purely a lust thread.

We look, we lust, we love, we discuss.

My first offering the new Gucci Lady Tassel in mandarin. Love this...

It is a lovely mix of grey and blue, the SA is on the right track. Calling it "Valentino grey" is a bit much, but presumably that sort of sales pitch works for some. Obv not for your DH and it wouldn't for mine! Heathens

No he didnt buy the valentino grey speech, and just believes that it just filled a gap in the market,
He actually had the nerve to tell the SA, that Valentino had an amazing turnover last year,and it looks like the this year will be a great success too, I wanted to crawl under the display table and hide, ,

I want to emulate that colour,I bought a chest of drawer form an antique salvage dealer here, its missing a drawer,and one of the handles on the existing drawer is missing, its not very pretty ,looks very worn out, but i love it,dont want to eliminate that worn out look I think this colour would be perfect for it, very somber and muted. think I need to mix atleast two farrow and ball colours to get it, its almost like a faded Parma grey shade,but if I try to lighten it up,it would lose that greyish hue.

DIY paint projects are the best! I recently built and painted a Georgian style wooden dolls house for the DDs and it took a few tries to get the pain shades right, but it's so worth it. I'm sure the Playmobil unicorns and figures they play with in it are all the happier for the authentic, tasteful colour scheme

Love both those Valentino colours, maybe the antique rose best but it's hard to choose.

santa DH wouldn't just comment on the company's turnover, he would start negociating a discount as well.

I get so embarassed (he does it everywhere from luxury stores to the flowershop on the corner) that I have to wander off when he starts doing it.

DD also has a wooden Victorian (?) dolls' house but I haven't painted it yet. Haven't thought yet what colour to go for but she's only little and doesn't play with it yet so I still have time.

In the interests of this thread, today I was sporting my prada saffiano double zip in caramel ;)

Those of you who like the celine box, what is your ideal colour? Mine would be tan,, it just looks so elegant and understated,and even if the box goes out of style, this colour would still look right, I feel I must do color more, but I can't, i feel bright colored bags look wrong on me, wish i could carry colored bags like linus and marsha, those two know how to rock bright colored bags,

It's funny I love the bright solid trio but with the box bag I'd choose tan.

This is the poor quality pic I took when I got my birthday present. My camera is so scratched. But anyway in the line up is the tan box, I love it.

And of course I said this is really important I have to line them up to take pics for my friends who will tell me online what to get.

I got really cross in a store recently when they would let me photograph two bags so I could get the opinion of a friend, honestly I don't know what they though was going to happen if there were blurry pics of me holding two different bags in existence!

Ha Pastperfect I know! It's a good way to do it, I'm sure many do, they'll get the jist eventually. Although the phone drops battery power like a stone.

The SA was a good egg about it all, helped me line them up, then pic without hands in shot.

Karbea sure thing. Might be a while until the next choosing, I like to do my bit but dh might look askance at me if I spend the kitchen money on bags for linking. .

Not letting you take a photo is daft. I suppose they are trying to protect against fakes. But if you were going to fake a bag, you'd look on their own website for a professionally taken photo. You wouldn't rely on a half-arsed photo taken with a mobile phone.

Exactly. It's not like people are flying to London to take dodgy, blurry pics in store for fakes. When there's a whole internet to look at.

That is a gorgeous red indeed. I personally like my reds a bit orangey when I'm fake blonde like now, and bluish like that one when I'm fake because in reality I'm grey brunette. It's hard work this changing hair colour business
