The blogs I no longer follow are the ones that are nothing but badly disguised PR. Poppy, on the other hand, comes across as authentic. She sounds like she genuinely loves clothes and, yes, sometimes gets it wrong but I like her for that.

dexter73 · 18/08/2014 18:38

Joanna is Poppy's Style.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/08/2014 18:39

Ah, thanks.

nicelyneurotic · 18/08/2014 19:04

I've just checked out WIT for the first time.

She has a nice figure but her clothes are ordinary and that bag is the ugliest thing I've ever seen! No way will her daughter thank her for it - very funny!

RepeatOffender · 18/08/2014 19:40

Just looked at the WIT blog. I quite like it (except for the bag nonsense) but it's far too aspirational/expensive thin for my life. Do like her haircut but bet that is also very expensive. Always love Poppy for her honesty and humour, not necessarily her clothes choices though.

lurkingaround · 18/08/2014 19:44

I love Poppy's. It's a hoot! It feels genuine. (Not keen on her style tho). As does Susie Soso, belinda's, AWO, Amber et al. That's what's missing from WIT. It doesn't feel genuine at all. I don't look at it anymore, I get really irritated. To quote a PP, she presents an over idealised life, which to me is (to borrow a phrase from 40Bum) beyond irritating (get me, blogger speak) and patronising. I think she should stop calling it a blog and present it for what it is: an advertising platform. At least that's honest.

TillyWilly · 18/08/2014 20:15

May I ask, who is WIT please?

lurkingaround · 18/08/2014 20:23

Wearing It Today

RepeatOffender · 18/08/2014 20:25

Yes, lurking - that's it! WIT is too glossy, too perfect - much prefer the honesty and fun of Poppy.

LadyRubyPenhaligon · 18/08/2014 20:28

I really like Joanna, along with susie she's my favourite blogger although her body shape, style and colouring are all nothing like me. Unlike other blogs I've never bought anything she has shown. Also do like AWO, ambers blog, fashionmumof40 and susie. Used to love bum40 but dull now. For entertainment value like WIT and the Londoner but take them both at face value.

BecauseIsaidS0 · 18/08/2014 20:29

You lot are a scary bunch! Grin

AmberNectarine · 18/08/2014 20:31

I loved WIT when she started out. It felt authentic then with her daily snaps and occasional new look purchases. Now it reads like an advertorial.

nilbyname · 18/08/2014 20:42

I like whatiboughttoday.

Wit is a hot mess to look at and scroll through, but I like her style and love that it's out of my league price wise.

Does my bum....well she's a good writer and engaging, but she posts are a lot like a shopping list. Too many pictures, not enough of an edit.

Subside is the best.

Anymore links please?

TillyWilly · 18/08/2014 20:46

Thanks...off to have a look.

Karbea · 18/08/2014 20:50

I like whatiboughttoday but she sometimes writes like she's been given things too.

Going to look at subside.

Karbea · 18/08/2014 20:51

Can't find it.

nilbyname · 18/08/2014 20:57

Subside...fucking typo!

Susie so so!!

Sorry!

angeltulips · 18/08/2014 20:58

Goodness me

Just looked at wit for the first time

Forget about her style, her spelling and grammar are ATROCIOUS. No bueno. She also seems to wear way too much j crew - I mean, I love j crew but it's not exactly difficult to dress yourself in it, is it?

peasandlove · 18/08/2014 21:10

Poppy seems very genuine I like her.
The rest of them are just paid advertisers really. Their blogs are just there to promote the latest freebie they were given in exchange for a shoutout. I also like the Londoner she has a lovely humour to her writing and it doesn't seem to be all about the paid links or freebies from designers. Peaceloveshea is another who I find rather fake.

TillyWilly · 18/08/2014 21:12

I thought WITs blog was lovely. Seeing her at her family holiday place, the beaches and the relatives. I also liked the post on the styling day for Red magazine, a behind the scenes look.

Susie So So is fab, I love her effortless sense of style.

AtlanticDrift · 18/08/2014 22:24

I admire real life women who blog and put themselves out there. They definitely provide inspiration for a lot of people who need fashion advice. I can never find one that quite appeals to me though. I want a fashion blogger who is a true fashion lover. Someone who mixes it up with vintage, high street and the odd designer piece. Anyone can buy new clothes and look good at times, but god its boring. Where are the interesting pieces in their wardrobes? I quite like that Scottish girls blog but can't remember the name?

manofsponge · 18/08/2014 23:19

Lol at pieces
