Rose, the Mezz sounds like some kind of Executive Airport lounge. Wifi and charging points, free speculoos biscuits( bleurgh)

I have tried loafers on and they're too stiff and unyielding on my hooves.i think I'll have to reject that notion and go Straight To Knee Boots.Confused

Dd had last of counselling sesh this morning. < wibble>
Ddad gone to Rotary club to try to see if he can last a lunchtime on his own. Dmum looming nearby in coffee shop in case of disaster.....

lalsy · 02/09/2014 13:21

No lurgies here yet, but a flurry of appointments for eyes, breasts etc and Men C for dd - another thing to tick of the list. [boring printer aside for Crem and Hatty, this is cheap but costs more per page than Canon Pixma range, some of which are reduced in Curry's at the moment (I have something similar and it is fine).

hattymattie · 02/09/2014 14:00

Thank you Lalsy will forward to DD - Uni a seemed much simpler when I just had to pack a pen and some paper.

BD - Mrs S has indeed met Bonsoir - apparently she lived up to expectationsSmile
.

bigTillyMint · 02/09/2014 14:04

Ooh Lalsy, I have bookmarked that printer for us at home, thanks! It is wifi isn't it?

Cremo, is your DD feeling like she can cope? That seems a very quick amount of support...

lalsy · 02/09/2014 14:22

Yes, the HP one is billed as being good at printing from tablets and mobiles. But - even more boringly - we found GCSEs required loads of printing for past papers etc (once they have covered the syllabus), so if that's the stage you are at, might be worth looking at the price per page cost not the printer cost....god I am becoming boring, am being tormented by our car alarm which keeps going off randomly (sorry addle), have had to leave car unlocked.

beachyhead · 02/09/2014 14:37

Lalsy, do you live that close to Addle that she can hear your car alarm???Shock

lalsy · 02/09/2014 14:41

Yes Grin.

QueenQueenie · 02/09/2014 14:43

Howdy Crepesters.

Count me in for the 11th! Probably more able to make evening than afternoon if that's on the cards... Very excited that you can come this time Lalsy and that you probably can Rose. Very sorry you can't make it Auriga and any other regulars who have other commitments...

My boys both back to school today and kitchen creeeeeping towards a conclusion. Might be able to cook Christmas dinner in it yet if they pull their fingers out. Bathroom is next in our sights - will be after some top tips BD.

Ageing parents are a sad sad thing. My Dad is hale and hearty still, my Mum much less so but she's always been like that so somehow less shocking iyswim.

bigTillyMint · 02/09/2014 14:47

Lalsy, that's good advice - I think I will keep the old one for that sort of thing and get a new one for the scanning, etc and DD can wirelessly use it from her laptop.

Talking of alarms, our BFF's house alarm went off on Friday night when they were at our house, 200 miles away. Twice. The neighbour who has a key was away so BIL had to drive over twice to turn it off, but it was a while each time. Neighbours were NOT happy!

hattymattie · 02/09/2014 15:26

[grinB BD - ultra chic - put it like this - she hasn't joined the CrepeysSmile .

hattymattie · 02/09/2014 15:27

You lot are going to need name badges for meet up.

cremolafoam · 02/09/2014 15:30

funny enough Lalsy, that's the printer I was looking at. I am undecided. Better let techie nerd dh decide I think. Wireless definitely, A4 borders , definitely, not too expensive ink hopefully.... ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzz, oops sorry nodded off.

Rudy reindeer hope you can come in October.Smile

Stupidhead · 02/09/2014 15:34

Just curiosity but what's a crepey? I keep seeing this thread and wondering! Fanking you Smile

lalsy · 02/09/2014 16:10

[Lalsy wakes up with another interesting printer thought] - My Canon Pixma has cartridges for individual colours plus black, which saves on ink costs as you only replace them as they run out. The budget ones I have been looking at have black plus tricolour so you have to replace all at once. I think it might be worth the bit extra. I promise not to discuss printer costs at the meet up, very excited.

cremolafoam · 02/09/2014 16:51

STUPIDHEAD, we are ladeez of style and a certain age.
but everyone is welcome on this thread. Apparently we are a quiche. Smile

we should be thinking of a new thread title for the autumn term....

Forever Autumn , Forever Crepey

a wee nod to the Moody Blues

motherinferior · 02/09/2014 17:00

Lalsy, I think you need to get out more. Grin

God I'm knackered. Vaguely writing six features at once. Also nagging book publicists. Why are some book publicists absolutely excellent and some vaguer than a vague thing having a vague day after a large spliff?

bigTillyMint · 02/09/2014 17:15

Yes Rudy, fingers crossed that the bra won't be needed againGrin

hattymattie · 02/09/2014 18:21

Forever Autumn " Through Autumn's golden gown we used to kick our way. You always loved this time of year ....".

Auriga · 02/09/2014 18:25

Rosebag & Montserrat, sorry to hear about your DDads. DMum is showing worrying signs and I'm beginning to wonder about myself Shock

Migrainous day today. Was baffled as to why, then remembered driving till 3am on Sat. I'm increasingly convinced the triggers are up to 72 hrs before onset. Anyone else noticed this?

Dog has almost knocked tablet out of my hand Grin. After some attention, I think

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/09/2014 18:31

Count me in for the 11th. There is a small chance I may be gadding about in Central Europe that week, if BB can make the decision to let me go for work (two days out of the office - for work, but not work that is directly related to what I do, and she said she is referring it up as she feels that it is not her decision to make), but I will try and go on Monday rather than over the weekend.

OP posts:
MrsSchadenfreude · 02/09/2014 18:40

Rose - we live near the Costa Roastery (if that's a word) and often get the scent wafting down wind.

I am beginning to hate this flat. Every day we discover something else wrong with the bloody place. One of the tenants appears to have peeled a large strip of lining paper off the wall in DD2's room (which we saw as a quick win, just needing a new coat of paint and bed), so this will have to be repapered. The plaster is rotten in part of the cupboard in our bedroom and will need to be removed (cupboard is damp). The hall floor is all lumpy and is a mixture of parquet, hardboard and concrete, as is the floor in DD2's room, which appears to have an extra window that has been boarded up. On the plus side, the sitting room floor parquet and that in DD1's bedroom seems to be sound. DH wants to take everything back to basics and do it all "properly". I am tired of living in squalor and am advocating a "make do and mend" policy to get it habitable, not least because we lived like this for three years in our last flat, and I have a strong sense of deja vu...

OP posts:
bigTillyMint · 02/09/2014 18:44

MrsS, could you do one important space properly and then a "make do and mend" job on other spaces that you can manage with, IYSWIM?
