QQ Grin

In S and B news, I have bought and worn my first nude bra, inspired by you lot. I understand them now.

cremolafoam · 27/08/2014 00:33

I am going to stalk ED and jump out from behind volvos.Grin { wooo}

QQ brilliant! Go your DS. I'm delighted for him! Holiday sounds perfect ( I'd be adding R4 into that mix obv)Smile

NU , that's a lot to consider. Not sure what I'd do tbh. Hope it all falls into place for you.

Lalsy , twice to Ikea? You loon. Hope you're on the midweek cocktails Grin what dd is going to do with said clothes drier is questionable tbf.

Hatty , sounds like you need a lie down. It's not easy this transition lark is it? Be good to yourself.

I am up with leg pain, waiting for the pks to kick in. Yawn.Shock

Rosebag · 27/08/2014 00:48

Oh no cremo. Pain killers needed indeed. I am up cos it's only 4.30pm here...Smile
We have arrived on the island and are so pleased with our hotel and the views. The bathrooms have a huge sized bath instead of the Classic American ones that look like a shower tray. I intend to have a lovely soak later. I'm one of those who believe woman needs a bath Grin
QQ that is brilliant news re Ds and glad you enjoyed your hols. We are not intrepid. tilly and her lot are so much braver than we are. We just like the occasional trip to far away places with amazing views. Like I say, if I really want to feel relaxed, I go to Sussex.
lals twice to ikea and bra shopping? You must be wrecked!!
Talking of far away places....ED? Would I need a passport? Grin Does any one ever meet north of the river? Regards from the one who lives at the butt end of the Piccadilly Line....

Blackduck · 27/08/2014 05:40

Hi all Envy at meet up.
Back to work this AM and staying at a mates tonight so I can get a shower. Bathroom sitch getting me down now, I know it will be fab when done, but...
Also having a wibble because on top of this we are buying a new car and will thus be very broke. (Has dreams of impending unemployment)

I too have more uniform to buy including football boots that I suspect will see very little wear

Blackduck · 27/08/2014 05:43

Not that impending unemployment is on the cards but I always have these thoughts when we commit to a big purchase...

NUFC69 · 27/08/2014 07:29

I hope you are feeling better this morning, Crem?

Welcome home, QQ. I hope your home gets sorted soon.

All these exotic places being mentioned in the far south ... destinations I can only dream about. Well, actually if I am truthful they might just as well be exotic destinations as I think I am more likely to go to Australia than London in the not too far away future (and I am not going to the southern hemisphere as far as I know).

On the subject of sibling equality, we do try, but of course children all have different needs. I suppose I am more concerned about this possible invasion because it is my DiL rather than DD who would be coming. We get on very well and I want that to continue. On the plus side it would mean that we would be able to build up a stronger relationship with the GC (we see them about once a fortnight atm). Ah well no doubt it will all be sorted out.

lalsy · 27/08/2014 07:30

We have arrived on the island Don't those words have a lovely ring?

BD, it will so be worth it. I get wibbles about big purchases too.

Crem, loon indeed. Both times in torrential rain and by obscure combinations of buses, trains and trams.

Hatty, hope today is better. Flowers

bigTillyMint · 27/08/2014 08:22

Errr, excuse me, MrsS (and QQ!), we are zone 2 I'll have you knowGrin

QQ commiserations on building site (but well done to the brainiac!). I feel your pain. And yours, BD - how's it going?

Lalsy, I can't believe you have only just bought your first nudie bra! And gone to IKEA twice in a week!!!

NU, you sound like such a great grandmaSmile My DC only see the PIL about once every 2 or 3 months, but they do truly love them and have a great relationship with them. That is mainly because they show that they love the DC too, which you obviously do.

BD, I have now passed on all the small boots we had, or you could have had one of our very many pairs. I fear a trip to Sports Direct for new season boots at £££ is looming (fair enough given the amount we forked out on DD's gym over the years!)

lalsy · 27/08/2014 08:41

Tilly, I didn't understand them - I thought you had to wear white bras under white shirts Blush.

Last night at IKEA, I taught the (young, cool) home delivery guy some of my grandmother's sayings, on such good terms were we all by then. He wrote them down on his mobile phone to post on FB Grin.

hattymattie · 27/08/2014 08:52

Lalsy - we come to the IKEA club - that's twice for me since Saturday - we had to take a faulty item back and I discovered they have special room for this at the far end of the car park, well away from the normal transactions, full of miserable IKEA customers. It reminded me of a detention centreWink.

Crem - so sorry about your leg, hope things calm down a bit.

Today is DD1's 18th - she hasn't got up yet as she spent until midnight Skyping to her boyfriend in the Netherlands. He has already started lessons at his Dutch uni, we still have a month of tailchasing to do. Have bought biscuit barrel at IKEA thoughSmile .

Rosebag your hols look fab.

bigTillyMint · 27/08/2014 09:23

Hatty, congrats to your DDFlowers

Cremo, hope the painkillers worked. Could it be stress-related?

motherinferior · 27/08/2014 09:27

Today I am mostly feeling small and pathetic. Must change this. Possibly through medicinal use of alcohol (later today, not now!)

bigTillyMint · 27/08/2014 09:29

We will cheer you up MISmile

I have a busy day in town ahead hopefully getting DD some work experience wear - will need alcohol to relax after no doubt!

lalsy · 27/08/2014 09:32

HM, yes, that's exactly it (IKEA). Happy birthday to your dd. You have a biscuit barrel, we have a teapot, Crem and her dd have a clothes drier. Sorted.

Crem, hope your leg is better today.

MI, can you ladyjog today if that would help?

bigTillyMint · 27/08/2014 09:35

Grin if they all move in together it'll be perfect!

motherinferior · 27/08/2014 09:47

I think I'm a bit wound up with (a) my mum's health (btw where is Rudy??) (b) back to work, which is a familiar gloom to many of us and I do have to start tangling with CDiff (c) my book project, which I'm rewriting and is frustrating (d) DD2 starting secondary which I know is really minor but I do worry about her and would like the next month over with.

I will walk from my house to the FH later, which will be a much-needed form of exercise!

NUFC69 · 27/08/2014 11:14

Sorry, QQ, congratulations to your DS on his exams - and very well done on getting to medical school.

Happy birthday to DD, Hatty. Anything special planned for later?

I hate Ikea, although I do have a few handy bits from there - I particularly like my scarf hanger.

Blackduck · 27/08/2014 11:47

I am at work and catching up with email and the last month with my administrator.....

I too am stressing re start of Secondary (and lack of a bathroom for ds to shower in!)

Have a lovely meet up crepeys....

motherinferior · 27/08/2014 12:45

It will be fine, BD, it really will (secondary, that is!). It's just so....big. Unlike DD2. (And scruffy, which is like DD2.)

Stropperella · 27/08/2014 13:06

I had a teensy argument on FB with an old friend of yours, MI. He asked me to give you his best - don't know if you saw..
BD, I bet ds will be fine - but it's normal to have some wibbles at this stage, isn't it? I'm certainly feeling wibbly both about ds going to middle school and dd going to 6th form. Probably more about dd, even though she's not changing schools..

cremolafoam · 27/08/2014 13:07

I have a biscuit tin
A duvet(new)
A small clothes drier
A b@q bucket
A triple pack of face wipes
A hairdresser sized bottle of shampoo
A bumper pack of dettol wipes
A zip up mattress cover ( blee to halls mattresses)
A slotted spoon

Leg improved.

MI not a bit of wonder u are stressed about dmum. Relaxation via alcohol probably recommended.

And breathe.

Happy birthday hatty's dd!

Stropperella · 27/08/2014 13:26

Oh my, Crem, that list makes me feel inadequate - I'd never even have thought of half of that.

motherinferior · 27/08/2014 13:32
motherinferior · 27/08/2014 13:35

Can't find it! Clue?
