The new loreal advert for hairspray got me thinking about my school days when Insette was the hairspray of choice. Hair never moved for weeks and you could practically snap it off. Vidal Sassoon that smelled like apples. Constant Carol that only did foundation in orange, oranger and orangist. Care to add yours

still can't remember the name of the cream in the pink tub, but did no-one else use 4711 eau de cologne? We used to buy it from Woolworths......

I was incredibly jealous of my friend who could get that "perfect" tight high ponytail - hair rock hard over your head - with the two little scraggy tentacles of hair designed to point down on each side of your face. She used to wet the brush AND use hair spray - what a pro.

My favourite ever hair products were Organics in the green bottles, could still get them in pound shops/cheap chemists now and again until a few years ago?

I've been using a hand wash recently that has been driving me mad trying to figure out what it reminds me of...Quiddity perfume!! It came in either a strange ribbed sort of bottle, or in capsules?!

When Just 17 came in the lovely beige packaging, they did (for a limited time only, I do wonder why...) a red mascara that I absolutely coveted. Bought it with my pocket money and painstakingly applied it only to be greeted with horrified looks from all my family and inquiries as to whether my eyes were actually bleeding or if it was just conjunctivitis.
