Wore one last night. Heavy Hot. Clanky. Irritating.

Plus you can't wear earrings with them IMO.
It's like a bloody neck iron.

I'm banning them. swishes wand

I agree. I have a fantastic looking statement necklace that is made of polystyrene (I think). It is silver and everyone says 'wow, where did you get that from'. It's light as a feather but looks like metal - win, win!

JennyOnTheBlocks · 13/07/2014 07:58

And they turn your skin green

And that's why I bought myself an expensive one a few months ago

I never change my earrings though, can't be faffed with those things

GretchenWiener · 13/07/2014 08:01

I just felt all heavy and branded in it. Ew

I always think they look a bit magicians assistant when I see them.

I like fine fairly plain Current fave tiny gold wishbone.

noddyholder · 13/07/2014 08:50

That's lovely

BriarRainbowshimmer · 13/07/2014 09:11

A few years ago I thought delicate necklaces looked frumpy. Now it's the opposite! Those big statement necklaces are on their way out aren't they?

GretchenWiener · 13/07/2014 09:20

I fear. I never quite got into them
pop of colour shit

I always think anything I am too aware of while wearing it is out. This has led to the demise of most pattern apart from spots/stripes jazzy jewellery and scarves

noddyholder · 13/07/2014 09:23

Also out for me

MuttonCadet · 13/07/2014 09:27

I've got a long neck and they always looked ridiculous on me. Glad they're going out because I was almost tempted to get one (luckily my reflection talks me out of it).

dexter73 · 13/07/2014 09:28

I have one I never wear. It is clanky, heavy and has a really strong metally smell. I am wearing pendants too.

I can't wear metal in the heat. While I love chunky jewellery I tend to wear wooden or plastic beads when it's hot or I come up in a lovely rash. Envy

I think earrings might be having a moment soon.

lurkingaround · 13/07/2014 09:44

Not my thing either, I live by noddy's rule, if I can't forget about it while I'm wearing it, (i.e. V comfortable) it's not for me. I do have a recent Zara one, and I really love it, but that's my only one. Am not a great jewelry person. Love the etsy one.

Sicaq · 13/07/2014 09:46

They always look like conference wear to me. They have permeated the workplace (usually with shift dress) so much that that's what I think. They don't say "party!" to me. More like "11am Skype meeting with the Aberdeen branch".

GretchenWiener · 13/07/2014 09:49

lol at Aberdeen.
OR you can hear the person consciously thinking " look at me - i am so novel! I wear a statement necklace"

mine from zara. it honks

That bag looks annoying too

BriarRainbowshimmer · 13/07/2014 10:10

Clutches are such a joke. Imagine fashion designers trying to sell clutches to men. No give me some proper bags and pockets please.

quirkychick · 13/07/2014 10:50

Aagh clutches. Give me a cross body bag, anyday. I don't have to think about it.

I think my closest to a statement necklace is a very plain, beaten silver collar. Not one of those glittery ones with ribbons. Why attach with ribbons? They will only fall off...
