I plod on...

And I have found this Somerset by Alice Temperley black and cream tops reduced from £89 to £26, one left in size 12. www.johnlewis.com/somerset-by-alice-temperley-monochrome-blouse-cream/p827462

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 23/07/2014 21:52

This is well priced silk for £26, too www.johnlewis.com/collection-by-john-lewis-juliet-metal-trim-silk-blouse-ivory/p1093481

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 23/07/2014 21:52

£24, sorry

Will look at Whistles, too, thanks, Remus!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/07/2014 21:56

None on the Whistles site but Selfridges in Brum had a fair few today.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 23/07/2014 22:12

Kind of retro, retiree style but I like it. And it's £17 www.johnlewis.com/collection-by-john-lewis-holly-short-sleeved-fashioning-top/p820014?colour=Vanilla

Ah, my dedication doesn't extend to interstate shopping, but for the Brummers, it's good news!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/07/2014 22:21

A few navy ones left on John Lewis site here

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 23/07/2014 22:31

Ah, yes, thanks!

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 24/07/2014 20:09

I've just done the post. Finally. As part of my research, I've rediscovered Pure Collection, and been v impressed with some of Boden's new range. Their shoes are looking particularly good.

wiltingfast · 25/07/2014 09:03

Been rumaging around your blog belinda and I see you have the mint velevet pixie flats. I spotted those the other week, they are gorgeous on but, the are really badly made! The edging at the top of the shoe isn't integrated or stitched in fully and so is flapping, scratching at your ankle. Was so disappointed, you'd think for e105 they'd put it together better :(

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 25/07/2014 12:54

wilting - ha re rummaging around on the blog a la a dusty old attic! Not laughing re poor quality shoes. I will delete them from my Pinterest boards. Do feel free to comment on the blog if you see something that you think others should avoid. Those shoes sound pretty disappointing

wiltingfast · 25/07/2014 14:11

Ah, it was such a shame, they looked great, but yeah, 'fraid the quality was shocking especially at that price point.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 25/07/2014 14:51

Yes, they are far too expensive to be anything other than top quality.

am planning on a trip to & Other Stories and Banana Republic soon, and possibly Zara - will report back if I see anything special.

Bearleigh · 25/07/2014 15:29

I've just popped into a Pure (cashmere) shop. The jewel neck short sleeved cashmere jumper in the sale is amazingly chic in navy. It is actually more a winter garment than summer in my eyes. Would be good with grey or navy trousers. It's a good dark navy, and will last and look good for years.

It's £81 in the sale. In the shops there's an extra 10% off all cashmere: online it's only some colours, and I can't tell if it applies to the navy.

Brillenbar · 26/07/2014 08:20

Pure stuff can be such good value. Their silk is really good quality and washes v well.

Spotted these dorsay flats in BR they will be mine as soon as they do a code bananarepublic.gap.co.uk/browse/product.do?cid=95156&vid=1&pid=000970196U014-17545

Annoyingly they are also showing these beautiful navy dorsay heels on the lookbook pictures. But not available in the uk, oh no. bananarepublic.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=35159&vid=1&pid=970241022 I find that soooo frustrating.

Belinda did your other stories order turn up? I got a dispatch email yesterday over a week after I placed the order, and they've cancelled half of it, in particular the black bag which is what I really wanted!

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 26/07/2014 10:11

Another fan of the quality of Pure.

Brillenbar - it's worth popping into the BR regent St store as they have shoes there that aren't online. Really annoying for people who don't have easy access to central London shops when the retailers do this.

Hmm, funny that you say that about & Other Stories - same thing happened to me! So, I rang and bitterly complained and was offered free shipping and 15% off my next order! which I used to order the fringe blouse in cream which had suddenly come back in stock. I've had confirmation that it's been shipped so hopefully I get it soon! Might be worth calling and complaining and checking if there is anything else you like or if your previously ordered things have come back into stock. It's all been far more hassle and taken far more time than it should, to be honest.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 28/07/2014 21:05

Oh yoohoo Brillenbar, look what's at BR Regent St

Ooh thank you they do look luverly. Will have to take a trip to an actual shop!

margaritasbythesea · 30/07/2014 20:26

I wonder if you ladies can help me solve a handbag dilemma? It's a bit odd, but I can't find anything that suite my criteria. This is quite possibly because nothing could.

I need a new non-black handbag. I often go from work to get the kids from school / childcare and then straight to the beach (we just live in the sort of place you can do all that walking) for a sandwich supper.

I want a new brown or nude, possibly grey bag. Possibly slouchy, possibly leather, under £100 and big enough to fit in two kids' beach suppers, as well as purse, phone tissues etc suitable for work but not so lovely I mind it sitting on the sand.

Is there a bag that will suit doing all these things? At the moment I end up taking my lovely black leather work or a jute shopper - neither of which are great for all three.

Now there's a challenge!

wiltingfast · 30/07/2014 20:57

How about one of those longchamp fold up bags? I see people at work with them all the time. V practical, they look sturdy and roomy. They come in lots of colours...

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 30/07/2014 20:58

Like this? Although nubuck in nude could get grotty quickly. It's sold out online, but if you are near a Cos, might be worth a look www.cosstores.com/gb/Archive/Nubuck_leather_tote/19852857-15051077.1#16507560

Topazandpearl · 30/07/2014 20:59

Would a Longchamp Le Pliage do? It's not leather but comes in lots of colours and is waterproof. It only has one small phone sized inner pocket so everything would get in a jumble though, but it holds a lot and folds up small when not in use.

I love that it's tumbleweeds. Until someone mentions handbags... Grin
