I have been out today and am tired of seeing bums cheeks winking at me. Put your arses away.

I love a playsuit. And shorts. But I do insure that my backside is adequately covered. An inch or two can make all the difference.

I had to take a playsuit back recently. Looked great on the hanger - like a flared-out dress. Took it home and showed DH. He nodded approvingly at the front, but when I turned round he said "I hope you'r not going further than the garden in that". As I bent over the whole thing rode up and exposed knickers and backside. No way. It was from Republic.

New Look have some nice ones and I've had no bum-issues with them.

My Banana Republic order came today. I'm keeping these in navy. They are a tadge short (I'm 5'4" but like to cover my wobbly bit at the top of my thighs) but flattering enough to keep at that price. Ideally I'd like an inseam of 6-7"

KarlWrenbury · 26/06/2014 23:04

how flaredy?> I like straight

They are very straight and close fitting in the leg (on me anyway!). Seem to similar cut to Hampton shorts.

SorrelForbes · 26/06/2014 23:21

Aggghh, they've got an extra 25% off now too!

KarlWrenbury · 26/06/2014 23:28

RING them tomorrow or do the live chat and they will take it off

Really, worth a try then! I got a 10 and I'm usually a 10 in Gap jeans if that helps at all?

KarlWrenbury · 26/06/2014 23:37

I looked at my old ones. Are us 6. So a 10. I'm fat atm tho :(

I saw a woman 'Power Walking' with her head phones on.
Totally in her own world and probably oblivious to the fact her skin tight lycra see through white shorts were sweaty and see through, and gave her the worst camel toe mumbling trousers.

A fact not lost on the two men in the van next to me at the traffic lights.

I wouldn't told her but she was away.

i got the elephant ones today

how were yours?

SorrelForbes · 01/07/2014 21:26

I'm really liking my elephant ones now. Just need a tan, some nice weather and a pair of suitable shoes to go with them!

I bought a nice pair of Ralph Lauren shorts at the weekend. Slightly longer inseam (yes!) so probably too long and flared for you Grin

Would love to be able to wear shorts but they just scare me to death ! I think they can really look really nice and chic, providing as said earlier no bum cheeks or worse on display to the world. Have bought many pairs of shorts of all styles, tried them on , been happy in shop. But when it comes to wearing them i just dont feel confident or relaxed. Would love a nice playsuit but dont even have the confidence to buy one or even to try one on. I live in mini skirts and dresses, have done all my life without any confidence or fear issues, but shorts are a completely different issue, wearing them scares me to death and i always feel massively underdressed and self concious of what i am wearing. On a couple of occasions i have decided to try and wear shorts and have ended up going into a shop to buy jeans or a skirt to change into ! Even on holiday i still stick to my trusty mini skirt in preferance to wearing shorts.

I'm kind of the opposite of you, tanya, will write happily wear short shorts and playsuits but always worry that my skirts and dresses are too short. I always worry that I'll flash my knickers in a short dress but am less likely to do so in shorts/playsuits.

tanya1010 · 07/07/2014 11:13

Dont know why i feel like that about shorts shadesofsummer but always been the same. Music festivals are about only time i ever wear shorts. Then i just get lost in the music and atmosphere so forget what i am wearing or just dont care ! Lol
