I have been out today and am tired of seeing bums cheeks winking at me. Put your arses away.

I saw a woman in asda in a playsuit. I felt like I was in a American ironic hipster movie about early 80's housewives

KarlWrenbury · 23/06/2014 08:44

its the name I cant stand. And just.. oh i dunno

Stokey · 23/06/2014 09:03

Noddy I agree about & other Stories

I tried this "playsuit" on the other day and it was really quite lovely (and am a shortarse)

But yes - the name needs work. Rompers sound even more childish.

KarlWrenbury · 23/06/2014 09:05

oh yes these are pretty but the leg opening again looks too flaredy - ends up looking like a skirt

plus ' ready to wear' my arse

Agree on 'ready to wear'.
Maybe I should branch out and try shorts after my bikini revelation of last year.

Stokey · 23/06/2014 09:10

Karl that is the same one I tried - just in a different pattern. It is very flattering.
My only concern was when I would wear it. Possibly too smart for casual (and dc grubby paws over silk!) and a bit too casual for smart - very short for an evening out.

KarlWrenbury · 23/06/2014 09:17

and expensive for a two season wonder.
My BR shorts I get on sale every year are invaluable. They have a deisgner every summer who puts some poncy patterned linking inside the shorts - then reduce them in July.

this style
basically whatever style suits you in trousers - get in shorts

Full length trews suit me

Cereal0ffender · 23/06/2014 09:41

Right Karl, what is be sizing like. I am a 12 with no waist to speak of

KarlWrenbury · 23/06/2014 09:42

i would get a 10 if you are a small 12. the short sizing is not as nuts as the trousers,
Mind you I always buy enough to get free delivery then return it - so order two, iykwim

Cereal0ffender · 23/06/2014 09:44

Super! I love how you guide me through my sartorial life

KarlWrenbury · 23/06/2014 09:58

The order too much tip saves you a fortune too. ( and means you arent gutted if the sizing IS nuts)

SorrelForbes · 23/06/2014 10:24

I seem to have ordered the entire shorts range from Banana Republic.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 23/06/2014 11:16

J Crew's chino shorts look worth a punt - only plain colours, but they do them in different lengths. I'm a bit bored of plain old - prob try the BR ones.

DD got a floaty pair from Oasis - lovely and the perfect shape and length for me but at 51 I don't think anyone needs to see me wafting around trying to be a young Katherine Hepburn.

Haven't come across that Stories place before - looks like a more wearable version of Mint Velvet.

KarlWrenbury · 23/06/2014 11:27

snort at Sorrel - at least you get free delivery.
I have just been to Spin and while sweating for Britain I remembered i have a neon pink pair from last year I will wear with my pineapple Hush t shirt bloody Amber made me buy

J crew is the preppy love child of landsend and gap.

Sleepwhenidie · 23/06/2014 12:49

I have a couple of pairs of the JCrew ones, love them. Great quality and perfect length and rise.

noddyholder · 23/06/2014 15:11

The landscape shorts not like a skirt def shorts. The jumpsuit is like my full length one but it's black My most worn thing the last few weeks Zara.

Deathraystare · 24/06/2014 12:05

It's always women/girls with fat shapeless legs who wear those short shorts, then a hoodie jacket on top and ugly boots that emphasise the bulk of their calves. They stamp along and their cellulite mass wobbles. Lovely.

AmberNectarine · 24/06/2014 18:12

I never did buy that pineapple t-shirt! Off to look now!

KarlWrenbury · 24/06/2014 18:47
