Does the new Boden catalogue make anyone else want to kill themselves?

It's my own fault for getting it I know. But I doubt I'll ever be able to afford anything from it, all the lovely skirts and shirts and sweaters and winter coats. And all the lovely buffed facialed skin and styled hair.

I've ordered that.

anteater · 13/09/2006 18:15

Anybody got the new Brora catalogue? A real class publication! (Little Anteaters featured!)

cupcakes · 13/09/2006 18:16

I got Brora today.

Crotchety · 13/09/2006 18:18

For the first time ever I fancied something in the Boden catalogue (which I only got a few days ago). It was a blue velvet coat but already there's a 14 week wait on it. What's the point in that?

anteater · 13/09/2006 18:19
Grin
youknowyouloveitCOD · 13/09/2006 18:20

the second tiem i have heard that coat mentioned in one day
i think minees hte nicest

gegs73 · 13/09/2006 18:49

DH laughs manically when he sees the Boden menswear section. He is especially interested in the 'berry' cords LMAO

Quadrophenia · 13/09/2006 18:56

very gorgeous coat in cath Kidston at the moment but for £350 I think I'll pass

smoggie · 13/09/2006 19:07

Ok, bit reticent to admit this given some of the comments so far, but I've ordered 2 things from the womens clothes - they were for my birthday from dh, so special treat !
thiscoat and this jumper
[duck and runs for cover].
Thought the coat would look good with skinny leg jeans and flat pumps..jumper looks nice with jeans too. Although, coat hasn't arrived yet (4 weeks later!) but is apparently winging its way as I type.

gegs73 · 13/09/2006 19:17

There both really nice smoggie. Especially like the coat.

superwomanStitch · 13/09/2006 19:20

sorry smogs, but i dont like the jumper at all
the coat otoh is lovely. and of course, it s not 75, but 68, including free postage, so no car parking costs et c.

i think boden is good value. will mini boden yes, not sure about al ot of te h adult things though

smoggie · 13/09/2006 19:35

SWS no offence taken!
Can't wait to see the coat, although given my recent attempts to update my wardrobe I'm sure it'll turn out to look like a bag of s**e on me when I actually try it on.
Am seriously re-vamping my wardrobe after 4 years of being in one of 3 states

  1. pregnant
  2. postnatally 2 sizes too big and wobbly
  3. back to normal size but still wobbly Consequently didn't see the point in buying much. Also seemed to make quite a few poor purchases of cheap stuff 'just for now'. So, today I bought the dark blue skinny leg jeans form next, a black polo jumper with mock scooped neck detail and rouched sleeves (sounds vile, but is gorgeous - not on website) and a t-shirt. I also like the look of this with jeans what do you think . Bit reticent as I think its one of those things you'll see hundreds of people wearing.

WHat other 'staples' should I be looking for? ....I thought a few shirt dress things, some flat pumps, and decent pair of jeans

superwomanStitch · 13/09/2006 19:40

i think its gorgeous.
but i am funny about next. i prefer getting stuff in their sales.
even if loads of people are wearing something, it doesnt mean you can t wear it as well, as long as it looks good on you.
personally i cant be arsed with fashion. just because some magazine, or celebrity says something is in or out, ddoesnt mean i have to spent loads on their sayso.

cazzybabs · 13/09/2006 19:47

I like boden - I like the bright colous and stripes and spots etc! And I like Toast (but not all of it and TBH it is over-priced!) So this winter most of wardrobe will be boden, white stuff and fatface!

CJinSussex · 21/09/2006 00:02

Fatface catalogue arrived this weekend. Much too young for me. 'Wrap' was also delivered - didn't like it at all. I haven't had either catalogue before and learn from various threads that some of you have got them this week too. I hope my MN details haven't been sold on after ticking the 'no junk please' box...

Colliewollydoodle · 19/07/2011 15:00

Boden Catalogue Just makes me feel such a failure in all aspects of my life!!! Even when I wear the clothes!

Gillybobs · 19/07/2011 15:20

Goodness me, how did you manage to resurrect a 5 ear old thread? : )

Colliewollydoodle · 19/07/2011 18:29

Oh my goodness ! 2006! Ha ha, It's taken me that long to come to terms with my faliure.

HoneyDuke · 19/07/2011 19:56

There's a really big white stuff in Norwich.fact.

strictlovingmum · 20/07/2011 09:52

Why would you drool over Boden???????
Shapeless, frumpy, hideous prints, not on trend and I could go on.
Does not offer itself for the polished look, spend you money elsewhere you will end up looking way more stylish, I am sure.Smile

JemimaMuddledUp · 20/07/2011 10:00

This is the second "ghost" Boden catalogue thread this week. Although the other one wasn't quite this old!

Please stop it, every time I see them in active convos I think that there is a new catalogue that I have missed. Which is frankly ridiculous as once there is a new catalogue I am in no doubt that I will be sent six of them. Besides Boden are far too busy at the moment chasing up the sale order that has been lost by the courier and preparing my autumn preview order Grin

Colliewollydoodle · 20/07/2011 18:15

Sorry Muddledup Your right about the number of catalogues! I have asked Boden a couple of times to stop sending me Mini Boden as sons aren't Mini anymore, they're 20 and 15 and wouldn't be seen dead in the teenage range! We have a Boden store in town, so Boden is everywhere in this particular part of Surrey. I have stopped wearing Boden it's just so, oh.... Nice!!, but still feel very evious of the perfect wonderful Happy happy holidays on the beach, the models are all such wonderful multi taskers, bet the baby was never sick all over their flippy skirt! I'm sounding bitter now.

JemimaMuddledUp · 20/07/2011 18:19

No Boden stores around here and hardly anyone I know wears it, which is probably why I like it. I have been wearing it for about 10 years though and haven't managed to look anywhere near as happy or relaxed as the models in the catalogues.
