Does the new Boden catalogue make anyone else want to kill themselves?

It's my own fault for getting it I know. But I doubt I'll ever be able to afford anything from it, all the lovely skirts and shirts and sweaters and winter coats. And all the lovely buffed facialed skin and styled hair.

all my dd's clothes keep their shape - and they were as cheap as chips. toddlers look good in anything IMO.

monkeytrousers · 06/09/2006 17:05

I know Enid, it's just sometimes, well at specific times of the month actually, I open them up and the feeling of time passing is too unbearable!

The girls' tops are nice this autumn - lots of things that the Inferiorettes could wear with their Sainsbury's jeans.

I'll wait till the sale, though.

expatinscotland · 06/09/2006 22:49

Sainsbury's jeans are brill for the tall, skinny child!

The only kind besides GAP that fit DD1.

notasheep · 06/09/2006 23:00

dd and ds have hand me down Boden so doesnt cost me an arm or a leg

Quadrophenia · 06/09/2006 23:04

threads like this make me pmsl, whoever said just bexause its expenisve its stylish, fashion is about so much more than that, and if anyone thinks they are fashionable just because they get their clothes from gap, boden etc they are seriously deluded. There si fashion and then therwe is style I am piss poor, never looked at a boden catalogue in my life but loads of people compliment me on what i wear, its seriously not what you wear but how you wear it

Quadrophenia · 06/09/2006 23:05

anteater aren't your kids models??

CJinSussex · 06/09/2006 23:12

Love Boden for the DDs because they don't have 'slapper' sequinned across the front in Barbie pink.

Can't fit my huge mummy tits in any of their womens tops without looking like a retired 'hostess'. My DH thinks this is OK... as long as I don't leave the house.

bottomburp · 06/09/2006 23:15

how do you get a boden discount code?!

CJinSussex · 06/09/2006 23:18

you can get 10% via this site by clicking ad banner above this message. But once you've bought a pair of socks for £5, Johnnie Boden will hound you on a weekly basis offering more and more discount codes until you save, oh, at least £20 for every £109,494 that you spend. Good huh?

Gemmasmummy · 11/09/2006 15:56

I've bought a few tops, knitwear and children's clothes but only in the sale - can't afford it otherwise. They seems to be good quality and the girlswear is nice without being too sugary-sweet or tarty. for ladies, there is a recognisable boden "look",which I try to avoid, worn by a particular sort of yummy mummy who drives a 4X4. They keep bringing the same stuff out year after year. Smebody must buy it I suppose! When I see something in the catalogue I actually like, I either 1) Go to e.g. Primark and buy something similar 2)Hover and pounce as soon as the sale starts!

you really meant that GM didnt you?

monkeytrousers · 11/09/2006 17:00

Can I just say that Primark are selling some v 'boden' v neck jumpers for four pounds!!! I just got 3 of them in cherry, rust and black.

And they have some nicely cut wide leg jeans for a tenner. I got two pairs!

OP posts:
monkeytrousers · 12/09/2006 23:28

have you all rushed off to buy some??

OP posts:
peegeeweegeewoo · 13/09/2006 12:11

The problem with primark is that they very rarely have stuff for kids that is not covered in glitter and sequins, and I can't be bothered going there 10 times only to not find anything I like for dd.
(the glittery tarty look just doesn't do it for me)

Also, I read somewhere that the reason Primark is so cheap is that they use child labour and I cannot support that....
Plus, their clothes feel sooo synthetic and shrink after just one wash...

Love the Boden kids wear because it is just that - colourful, child friendly clothes with fun patterns. Easy to avoid glitter and those stuped 'sexy' 'kitten' etc logos.... And they are made of cotton mostly, and feel soft to touch, and wash well, retaining shape, size and colour. (No, I don't work for them, and No, am not rich...)
I buy all by Boden stuff in the sale and sell worn stuff on on eBay to get some money back...

Won't buy Tesco stuff as I find it a bit tacky, ditto with a lot of Next. Also, find Next expensive for what it is...

Don't fit into womens Boden as am too big, and hubby would rather walk around naked than wear mens Boden!!

Tortington · 13/09/2006 12:19

but boden is so boring..

i can't believe thsi thread is really about praising boden but it being out of reach.

if i had the money i still wodn't buy from boden. its so dull. dull dull. dull. its a bit erm dull

Enid · 13/09/2006 12:20

I like their childrenswear usually, but the current boys stuff all seems to be camouflage print and having seen child soldiers in action in my past life, I don't really want the DSs dressed for combat!

Kaloo20 · 13/09/2006 12:41

Mini Boden really pulled the stops out for me yesterday. I rang them at 11.00am and ordered three items which I needed delivered before 5.30pm the same day ..... and they did it. Items with me by 4.00pm (and they paid for the motorcycle courier !)

Horray for Mini Boden

MABS · 13/09/2006 18:07

adult stuff is so boring and my dd hates the kidswear.

youknowyouloveitCOD · 13/09/2006 18:13

THIS is nice tho
