Does the new Boden catalogue make anyone else want to kill themselves?

It's my own fault for getting it I know. But I doubt I'll ever be able to afford anything from it, all the lovely skirts and shirts and sweaters and winter coats. And all the lovely buffed facialed skin and styled hair.

sorry. it's not even that interesting!

monkeytrousers · 06/09/2006 13:11

I'd go for the brown Cup. Sweet polka dots

Cupcakes my dd has the brown cord with multi coloured polka dots from last year - still looking good after at least four washes...

Fimbo · 06/09/2006 13:15

Cupcakes - I think it is the quilted lining that is putting me off the duffle coat tbh. My dd used to have a duffle coat and the wool stank when it got wet (although I am sure Johnny's wouldn't - lol ). I quite like the fleece lined anorak, which for Boden is quite reasonably priced. Will find link..............

LieselVonTrapp · 06/09/2006 13:17

Its not that pricey actually, and I thought it would be. No different to Next and not nearly half as expensive as Gymboree.

Fimbo · 06/09/2006 13:18

here

cupcakes · 06/09/2006 13:18

I think it may well be the brown

I wear loads of Gap and also Boden

also
White Stuff
Fat Face
sometimes Monsoon and Topshop

hermykne · 06/09/2006 13:18

hey expat - i bet you'd find those cord trouser or jeans on boden with a normal waistband

Gobbledigook · 06/09/2006 13:19

OHyes, forgot Monsoon!

I'd say it's much more expensive than NExt!! You're looking at at least £20 for boys jeans in Boden whereas they are a lot less in Next

cupcakes · 06/09/2006 13:19

the anorak is very nice - dd has one she has been wearing for two years and it is gorgeous.

ShowOfHands · 06/09/2006 13:19

Cupcakes the brown one is def. aimed at labrador owners, so I'd go for that one! I do prefer it.

RE Boden Catalogue

I would be a model for them but there are not enough hours in the day for me to frollick on the deserted beach with my model husband and adorable children(!) It makes me larf that the Boden fraternity are always languishing next to a campfire or playfully chasing a pedigree dog along a beautiful cove. Those people have clearly never camped or been on a beach in this country. No dribbles of icecream, burnt shoulders or assortment of mismatched buckets and spades for a start.

Fimbo · 06/09/2006 13:20

Cupcakes - I wish they would get White Stuff in Norwich - nearest is Cambridge.

Fimbo · 06/09/2006 13:21

I don't think you can compare Next with Boden - sorry.

Gobbledigook · 06/09/2006 13:21

is that to me or leisel fimbo?

cupcakes · 06/09/2006 13:22

Fimbo - they have a very small concession in Jarrolds (I bought my WS jeans there) and they do menswear too downstairs. I mail order too.

oliveoil · 06/09/2006 13:22

these cords are FAB

Fimbo · 06/09/2006 13:23

DD has a coat overload, but I want to get the navy anorak for school.

cupcakes · 06/09/2006 13:23

showofhands - fancy you recalling that I have a black lab! (we only got him so we could look more Boden and fit in at Holkham )

ShowOfHands · 06/09/2006 13:28

Cupcakes, now come on admit it you've been hanging round Holkham because it's a known nudist beach haven't you? (better than Wells though with its proliferation of holiday makers and arcades).

Of course I remember you have a black lab, called Pan is it not?

Fimbo · 06/09/2006 13:29

Sorry my comment re Next was to Liesel. Next has gone downhill rapidly imo. But it is only my opinion and I do know other people who think Next is fab.

cupcakes · 06/09/2006 13:30

He is

Fimbo · 06/09/2006 13:31

You can get into Holkham Hall free this weekend.

Gobbledigook · 06/09/2006 13:32

I thought so Fimbo - I agree with you

cupcakes · 06/09/2006 13:49

lol - I'd be grinning inanely at every other Bodenite!

Piffle · 06/09/2006 13:51

Have broken ranks this year and bought winter PJs from grobag people. Always buy dd's coats/jackets from Boden but not always new.
I rarely buy things for me, plus being preggers this year means nothing
DD is in line for a few bits and bobs though am liking a lot of the girls stuff but am waiting for the better discount codes...
