Here we are crepeys - Friday 13th!

OP posts:
herbaceous · 27/06/2014 12:51

Mine cries at Great British Bake Off and Masterchef. How's that for metrosexual...

cremolafoam · 27/06/2014 12:58

Stropps we are here to help with clothes

Rosebag · 27/06/2014 13:13

What lovely news Stropps. Have more faith in yourself! You have much to offer and this is being recognised! Thanks

My DH is a soppy beggar but he doesn't cry in films/TV…falls asleep instead. This is source of conflict between us. I have put an embargo on cinema trips as a result. How's that for cutting the nose off to spite the face? Hmm

Have had to contact the GP re DD this morning. She's been trooping stoically on, but the cystitis is back with a vengeance and with all it's horrible symptoms and consequences. We now have antibiotics and a specimen sent for testing. Kept her at home today and we're having a nice Mummy and DD time, actually. Her periods are similarly awful Cremo and the cystitis almost always coincides.

bigTillyMint · 27/06/2014 13:14

As WAF said, White Stuff dress would be good for interview. So pleased for youSmile

CointreauVersial · 27/06/2014 13:16

Well done Strops! When's the big day?

LOL at all the desperate husbands being repelled nightly. Mine too. He also loves an innuendo - I sent him a email yesterday after our new front door furniture arrived; it said "Good news - I have new knockers and you have a new knob!" and that set him off all afternoon. Grin

I will try to arrive at a decent hour this evening, but I have to wait until DH gets back because of previously mentioned mattress deliveries. Mine's a Pina Colada.

bigTillyMint · 27/06/2014 13:22

Re DH's crying at films, not a chance of DH crying. I have never, in 18 years ever seen him cryShock Whereas I cry at the drop of a hat.

Rose, sorry to hear about your poor DD - how horrid

NUFC69 · 27/06/2014 13:23

CV, that reminds me of a Blue Peter faux pas - can't remember who it was, but he said "what a lovely pair of knockers", when they were showing door furniture!

NUFC69 · 27/06/2014 13:25

Sorry to hear about DDs having female trouble - and it never gets any easier, does it?

herbaceous · 27/06/2014 13:25

MI wouldn't have dared to send such an inflammatory email, CV, judging by her melon-announcement caution.

NUFC69 · 27/06/2014 13:32

After reading the last postings I have come to the conclusion that nothing dampens their ardour.

Stropps, DH was part of the first prostate cancer testing which they introduced years ago. I remember that up here MC men were more likely to suffer from it, compared with WC areas and they wondered whether it was stress related. I am just about to start the dreaded bowel cancer test. Sad

Stropperella · 27/06/2014 13:47

Well, now that you mention it, it was an unusual lack of staying power that appeared quite suddenly and then persisted for a number of months made me force dh to go and get tested for prostate cancer. Otherwise he had no symptoms. So there you go. If they stop being frisky, it may be a sign there's something wrong. NU, I don't want to diss your theory Grin, but dh is a working-class Glaswegian by background and has a family history of prostate cancer. He has his annual bowel cancer test pack sitting on his desk and I have just reminded him about it. He looks overjoyed. Grin

Blackduck · 27/06/2014 13:47

Do doesn't cry - only really seen him cry once and that was a loooong time ago. He toughs it out! And you wouldn't get him to sit through a RomCom in a month of Sundays!

Oh late July possible -dp conferencing, ds at grandparents......

motherinferior · 27/06/2014 13:52

Not sure I'd mention mattress deliveries either, CV.

Poor little DD, Rosebag. My DD2 had a few UTIs when tiny and it was horrible. Fortunately it was when she was still little enough to be with her lovely childminder, who got her drinking pints of water and was perfectly stoical when DD2 then peed torrentially all over her floor.

herbaceous · 27/06/2014 14:18

Snurk, MI.

Where's this rain, then? I'd been looking forward to the promised thunderstorms, and was disappointed when they were downgraded to 'heavy showers'. They now seem to have been further downgraded to 'occasional cloud'.

Stropperella · 27/06/2014 14:27

We've had your rain, Herbs Smile

Blackduck · 27/06/2014 14:29

And us Herbs - you can have it if you like....

motherinferior · 27/06/2014 14:29

I am playing the divine Dolly, who is of course Not Crepey In Any Way even though she is about 202. Marvellous woman. All about the literacy initiatives. And the wig, obviously. And the bosoms.

Stropperella · 27/06/2014 14:50

I have always liked what is allegedly Dolly's top weightloss tip: "Git your head outta the slop bucket". Grin

Rosebag · 27/06/2014 15:06

Thanks Tilly and Mother. This is a recent thing…last 2 years. I think it will need investigation soon. DD has wet herself a few times this week and oh the pong… (sorry TMI). She really needs those antibiotics.

DS2 is on way back from friends house in the Prom aftermath, having had a fun time, I believe. He has blocked me from his facebook Sad so I have to go on to his wall to see any photos. There are some nice ones but can't share at the moment. He doesn't seem to like my friends commenting on him….

No rain here…torrential or otherwise...

motherinferior · 27/06/2014 15:10

I'd take her for investigation now, Rosebag.

bigTillyMint · 27/06/2014 15:14

Rain? What rain? None here yet, thankfully!

TFIF - what an afternoon! Culminating the fire alarm going off 5mins before hometime. But they're all gone now!Wine

motherinferior · 27/06/2014 15:26

I'm still waiting to be sent stuff that has to be tied up by the end of today.

I am not paid enough on this gig for this level of hassle.

wordassociationfootball · 27/06/2014 16:06

Sports day took place.

DD2 was gutted green came third and has been grotty to DH for not running in the parents' races where lots of people fall over because the ground is all bumpy.

Lawks no CV, no mention of mattresses.
Have just had a bowl of Greek yog, pumpkin seeds and sultanas to get me through til tonight. DH and I know any of this kind of interim 'cos I can't wait til I go out grub as 'half time toast'. Can't remember why.

Stropperella · 27/06/2014 16:18

Oh your poor dd, Rosebag, sounds like you should definitely press for some further investigations pronto. (BTW, have considered what you said about asking for a referral for the thing on my face and as I need to re-schedule the freezing appointment from next Tues (dues to having interview the following week and not wanting to go to it with a festering hole in my face), I think I will go and speak to the GP again about it. Just to see.)

WAF, commiserations to your dd2... I never do the parents' races on principle - there are far too many competitive loons round here who would think nothing of turning up in their spikes. Grin

QueenQueenie · 27/06/2014 16:37

A belated WELL DONE from me Stropps. Brilliant news!
