Here we are crepeys - Friday 13th!

My mum's filter is also bust. Or else she just doesn't give a toss any more. DP's mum, since DP's dad died, has become a lot less tolerant and forgiving of other people too. I think my filter is prematurely beginning to fail too!

Really sorry I won't be seeing you all tonight. But we're already spending £40 on a babysitter tomorrow, £45 on one last Saturday, and it's just a bit much.

I'm wearing my stripey maxi skirt.

ToT klaxon - I appear to have put on two pounds since last week, which seems a trifle unfair as I did a fast day yesterday (well, until it was scuppered by a glass of wine in the pub), and have been no-wheating like crazy.

And yes, crem. I have to keep a cattle prod handy to repel DP more regularly than I would expect with my drooping flesh, despite his youth. Mildly gratifying.

motherinferior · 27/06/2014 10:54

That song is particularly great for those of the country-music persuasion. Though Mr Inferior is also in the try-it-on-frequently brigade. (He's got used to a spectacular failure rate.)

wordassociationfootball · 27/06/2014 11:04

Chuckling at cattle prod and failure rate. Whole days go by when I daren't even catch his eye. When I say I don't fancy it, he says 'You wouldn't have to do anything.' OTOH, if I am in the mood, I only have to catch his eye.

Rosebag · 27/06/2014 11:05

Isn't it a man's job to try it on...to lust salaciously after us in spite of the crepeyness and wobbly bits...or even because of them Grin ?

Stropperella · 27/06/2014 11:05

I got an interview! I got an interview! The first proper job interview in 18 years.

wordassociationfootball · 27/06/2014 11:05

motherinferior · 27/06/2014 11:15

GO STROPPSSSS!!!!!

I once, get this, avoided telling DP we had melons in the fruit bowl for about four days, in order to avoid the salacious remarks that would inevitably follow.

wordassociationfootball · 27/06/2014 11:31

Arf at melons.

Stropps, when you said this:

'Another thing that is probably not going to happen is me getting an interview for the job I've applied for. We are supposed to hear by tomorrow, but I've realised (duh!) that there are probably plenty of people applying who have proper experience in the relevant area - which I haven't.'

I said 'Ach, of course you're going to get an interview.' And I have actually met you, so I wasn't talking out of my hat.

Also I (and I expect everyone on this thread) get to be Completely Right because they all knew it too.

NUFC69 · 27/06/2014 12:12

And I don't even know you in RL, Stropps, but I said it, too. How could you not get an interview? Well done!

Be warned, fellow Crepeys, DH is still like that and he's mid 60s; there's obviously no hope for any of us.

Off to see micro Nu late afternoon. DS says that they have told him that he may not be discharged until his due date in August. Sad Lots of looking after DGD1 while mum is at the hospital so DS can keep his leave until baby is home.

wordassociationfootball · 27/06/2014 12:23

Oh that is a long haul NU. Still, he's here and safe. Thought of him and you with your micro baby fruit weighing when MI was talking about melons in the fruit bowl. Grin. I had a melon of 9lb 6oz then the second at 7lb 2oz because I was running round after the first I expect.

White Stuff dress for interview Stropps?

Just heard that dd2's sports day is ON (although still weather permitting). She's been vaguely pretending along with her sports loathing besties that she hopes it's rained off but as she's been doing Park Run since sept with DH and now does a 5k in 24 mins (at 9yo) I rather think she is hoping for dry weather and victory in the distance race.

Oh and in the spirit of our DH's all being the same, do yours get wet in the eyes at emotional things and deny that it's crying, like mine does?

originalpiratematerial · 27/06/2014 12:33

Yay Stropps! Fantastic Smile.

cremolafoam · 27/06/2014 12:35

Strooooopppppppppps!
You little star!
I'm so happy for you! I also was if the course you'll get an interview persuasion .

Am in car laughing hysterically at melons MI Grin

Blackduck · 27/06/2014 12:42

Stropps Grin Grin

So sorry I can't be there tonight...

At the moment the only thing stoping dp is he's knackered - but, yes, he does have this ability to find me attractive when I am possibly at my worst - I find it Confused

motherinferior · 27/06/2014 12:46

DP weeps at romcoms. He refuses to acknowledge this though.

I just interviewed Herbs. Grin

Stropperella · 27/06/2014 12:47

Thanks for all the cheers, crepeys - and do have several Wine Wine for me tonight. Please can we have a late July meetup??

Sorry to hear micro NU will have to stay in hospital for so long, that will be a bit of a slog for everyone.
NU, my dh is probably about the same age as yours and has had treatment for prostate cancer, but that doesn't seem to have dampened his ardour much, bless him. Grin

beachyhead · 27/06/2014 12:48

Hooray for you, Stropps. What a great start to the weekend. Grin
