Stropperella · 23/06/2014 22:13

Grin @ QQ - you reckon they will start feeling the farmyard lurrrv and stop noticing that they are in a big cage?

cremolafoam · 23/06/2014 22:21

Hi Rudy! Hope you're ok .

Giant cow eh? Industrious childGrin

Blackduck · 24/06/2014 06:03

I loves the giant cow...

Kitchen?! Meh - I'm in for three weeks (minimum) of bathroom disruption assuming we can get a quote that doesn't make us keel over in fright...

Ds off to 'big' school for induction today

I read the fault in our stars - sentimental tosh with one good point in it.....

Not sure I can make Friday - all going a bit mad here. Will try to clear decks today to give it serious thought!

bigTillyMint · 24/06/2014 07:05

OH BD and Rudy, that would be a shame - fingers crossed you can sort out and come.

MrsS I can't open your link, but could find it from your directions!
Your DD1 has finished for the summerEnvyEnvyEnvy I can't believe we still have over 4 weeks. My DC are wilting badly, never mind me!

DD went to see the sob-fest on Friday.

I'm with your DD on the films, Stropps!

lalsy · 24/06/2014 08:16

ds saw the sobfest and said it was really sad.

Crem, hope your dd perks up today [takes slave driver baton - starting bedroom here today].

Mmmm fish curry.

motherinferior · 24/06/2014 08:41

DD2 is very happy with her birthday presents Grin. Also with the clever Lakeland toasted sandwich bag thingy we trialled at breakfast this morning, so for once she went off with a ham and cheese toastie to sustain her (it's another school trip today!).

I have the joys of another perimenopausal deluge-type period. All this and CDiff too. Wot larks.

lalsy · 24/06/2014 09:01

MI, that's lovely. Now sit on a towel and snarl at anyone annoying. Works for me Smile.

Auriga · 24/06/2014 09:28

Tearful start to the day for me. My birthday. Cards: 1 (one, I) a jokey one from DH. Presents 0 (zero, nought).

DH couldn't find anything suitable. Seeing he knew what I asked for last year and the year before, and I still haven't got it, I had imagined it wouldn't be too hard. But I should have remembered this is the man who couldn't find any nice earrings in Bluewater Hmm

I try to make people's birthdays nice for them. Better start doing the same for myself. So have had bubble bath, walk with dog then put on previously unworn silk dress for work and will buy cake on way. Late start today because it will be (very) late finish. Must plan better next year.

DD loved TFIOS. Follows John Green on Tumblr, apparently he's v funny.

Stropperella · 24/06/2014 09:35

Happy birthday, Auriga. Sorry to hear the day didn't start well. Here's hoping it gets better!

motherinferior · 24/06/2014 09:37

Auriga Sad Angry

Happy birthday to YOU
Happy birthday to YOU
Happy BIRTHday dear...
Auriga
DD2
My mum
Grin Grin
Happy birthday to ALL OF YOU.

My first birthday after I got together with DP not only did I get no presents, I also realised he'd got me up the duff Shock. Though I suppose it was the gift that kept on giving...

Rosebag · 24/06/2014 09:54

Auriga Are you me? One year I got so excited when I thought DH had finally realised I wanted a lap top. Opening the large, flat oblong wrapped gift…I revealed a bright new shining deluxe A-Z Atlas. He only gets me something if I have spelled out the make, model, colour and where to get it in minute detail. I celebrate my birthdays with my girlfriends who are lovely and we make a big fuss of one another. I do hope they make a big fuss of you at work. Thanks and Cake from me.xx

Also Happy Birthday to your DD Mother Hope you feel better and CDiff is LessDiff today. Can't say I miss having periods, no.

DD has gone to school still a bit worse for wear. I have to take DS to get a bus to the wilds of Herts. for a Quasar party and then leap on the tube to Hammersmith for a bit of work. My ribs ache today on one side..mixture of old age and indigestion. Living on a diet of codeine and gaviscon.

QueenQueenie · 24/06/2014 10:11

Happy Birthday Auriga! Very good plan to be nice to yourself on your birthday.
And felicitations too to the youngest inferiorette.

bigTillyMint · 24/06/2014 11:05

Auriga, Happy BirthdayCakeFlowersWine My DH doesn't do presents either, but he does do cheques! Glad you are looking after yourself, even if noone else isSad

And Happy Birthday to MI's DD2!

hattymattie · 24/06/2014 11:40

Auriga - happy birthday xxxWine Thanks . I do not know why men are so lazy about present buying - even flowers then taking you shopping shows a small amount of effort.

French MiL makes a virtue of ignoring birthdays and apparently I'm very bourgeois and my children are spoilt rotten because I buy them presents and we have the ceremony with the cake, candles etc. We have several birthdays in the summer and last time we literally got out off the car after a seven hour drive and she gave everybody champagne and said "like that it's done" - ie. sod off and don't bother me with birthdays. Confusing for the children who don't even drink champagne.Confused

Happy Birthday Auriga - am :( and Angry for you. Birthdays are your special day and should be celebrated as such......

I always get breakfast in bed and minimum of 3 (III, three) cards (dp, ds and DDog) and at least something small to unwrap from ds. (this year considering it was a significant one we were both monumental rubbish and got each other nothing - we keep promising to go away... Hmm )

motherinferior · 24/06/2014 12:12

I am going out to get the ingredients for DD2's birthday choc sauce to go with ice cream. Feel I should buy myself a bottle of wine to congratulate self on producing her, dammit. In our front room. Sixteen, (16, XVI) days ahead of schedule.

bigTillyMint · 24/06/2014 13:16

Oh definitely, MI! Mine were a week and ten days late respectivelyHmm

herbaceous · 24/06/2014 13:37

Happy birthday Auriga! That is really shockingly bad behaviour by your DH. There's no excuse for not even making an attempt to buy a present. Unless he has no eyes, no hands, and no means of getting about or browsing the internet, but I think you'd have told us of any of these rather life-limiting problems.

My mind is turning towards DS's birthday presents. He has claimed he Does Not Want a new scooter, which was my main idea, but does want anything musical. He wants one of those infernal keyboards with drums and microphone built in, but not sure I can stand it. Perhaps a nice little guitar.

Some NCT friends bought their son for his fifth birthday a drum kit from eBay. It was advertised as being 'junior' sized, but upon collection, they realised it was in fact standard. So now it's taking up most of their sitting room.

cremolafoam · 24/06/2014 13:51

Just met the Queen
