Here we are crepeys - Friday 13th!

OP posts:
Rosebag · 22/06/2014 11:06

Queen DS1 went to Leeds (although it was the Met). Brilliant city to be a student in…I miss my visits!
Herbs loving the idea of a wig based party rather than full fancy dress. I have a green Tina Turner wig I'm particularly fond of.
*Mrs S I had a nannying/cleaning job for a Rabbi Rosen a long time ago…when I was at Uni. I wonder if it was the same…wife was American, called Gila…
Still thinking about your DDil NU Hope all is as well as can be expected. (People who know what I do, will know that pregnancy and babies are very close to my heart)
Cremo some improvement it sounds like, but so sorry for your continued pain.

DD's plane has taken off at last, just over 2 hours late. Daggers to the school for pathetically few updates, and to the airport departures boards for not updating accurately Angry

bigTillyMint · 22/06/2014 12:08

Cremo, so sorry to hear your leg's still sore.
Fingers still crossed for your DS/DIL NU.
And fingers crossed you get your DD back soon Rose!

QQ, one of my bfs from school was at Leeds - great place.

Had a lovely day with our friends yesterday - every man and his dog was out in London, but we had a boat trip up and down the Thames, climb up Greenwich hill and dinner in ChinaTown! They have finally gone off to do some more sights/museums before trekking home. DD is relieved she doesn't have 4 brothersSmile

bigTillyMint · 22/06/2014 12:08

I am supposed to be emptying the kitchen....

Blackduck · 22/06/2014 12:12

Good luck all with various ills, delays etc.

Ds got Buttons in end of school production so happy - but waiting to see who (if anyone) he's paired up with in the big school lottery ....

Should be doing loads of things, but slumped on bed with iPad.

Beachy?! All okay?

bigTillyMint · 22/06/2014 13:43

Well done BD's DS!

Have packed up two boxes...

originalpiratematerial · 22/06/2014 13:43

Greetings crepeys! Crem you poor thing - it sounds really debilitating. NUFC I hope there is good news from DIL soon. Rosebag, hope dd gets home in the not too distant.

I've just been out for my last long (ish) run before 10k race for life next Saturday. It's hot but ok. I stopped a few times to cheer on the Hackney half-marathon runners (my route intersected with the HM route). Really looking forward to race for life now!

beachyhead · 22/06/2014 14:20

I'm alive, only just, as is ddog!

Excellent camp night, much drank and eaten. So strange that, in the four or five years we have done this, it's never the same. We invite the same group roughly, but it's never the same mix if people who come, which is great...

I'm feeling rough though! And I'm having to hand feed the dog, which really isn't helping at all.

Auriga · 22/06/2014 15:43

NUFC, hope your DGC is hanging on tight and can manage a few more days or weeks inside.

Crem, sorry to hear your leg is still bad. Is weeding really a good idea?

Beachy, camp night sounds great and the weather was unbelievably gorgeous for you.

Singing was indeed a triumph, QQ. Top flight orchestra and young professional soloists, choir on cracking form. One of the basses assured me in the interval that 'this is better than drugs', which I can believe.

Many of us met again yesterday to sing at a wedding, all still high as kites from the excitement of the concert and from lack of sleep (always hard to wind down afterwards).

Wedding was perfect; beautiful church, blissed-out couple, sunshine, little girls in pretty dresses, great music. Everyone seemed totally delighted that these two have got together Grin

Big slump today, lazy lunch, papers. Though DH and MI's DP had to work quite hard at packing up bed this morning. What a lovely bloke, MI.

motherinferior · 22/06/2014 15:51

Auriga, he has his moments.Grin Otoh DD2 and I escaped this afternoon (DD1 had scarpered to a party) to do a quick shop. On the way back DD2 remarked she was wondering just how many times Daddy had sworn while assembling it and I said I was thinking just the same thing. GrinGrin

It's going to be faaaabulous, thank you so much!

bigTillyMint · 22/06/2014 17:32

[So glad the bed was a match after my F-up Smile
Glad your camp went well Beachy!
Hope no news is good news, NU.

Am packing up kitchen - have now filled 7 boxes, one of which was so heavy that the stuff fell out of the bottom as DH was carrying it into the sitting room....

NUFC69 · 22/06/2014 17:59

I have eventually heard from DS (he has been at the hospital all day). As long as everything is ok overnight DDil will be allowed home tomorrow - if nothing happens in the meantime she will be induced at 36 weeks. We will probably be having their little girl a lot to enable mum to rest.

Phew!

motherinferior · 22/06/2014 17:59

Bittersweet moment: when clearing mountains of stashed gribble from under DD2's bed found pics of my two some years ago sitting in a garden with my friends' little girl who was later to die of a brain tumour.Hmm

bigTillyMint · 22/06/2014 18:45

Sad MI

[happy]NU

Must finish off the packingHmm

NUFC69 · 22/06/2014 19:12

Oh, MI, that is so sad - it just comes flooding back, doesn't it?

You clear under the bed? Most impressed. Grin

DH has got his appointment for the stress test - minus the pamphlet which was supposed to be sent with it - not until mid July, though.

Glad to hear that everyone has had a good weekend - not sure where the time has gone, tbh. I hope Crem hasn't overdone the weeding and hurt herself even more, and that BTM's kitchen clear out is now over. DH has just removed my washing machine from its place in the utility room - getting unreasonably excited at the thought of a new one.

cremolafoam · 22/06/2014 19:57

I have achieved . Path now clear of buttercups and dandelions( pebble path with weed control underneath that is clearly not doing much if a job)

Lady came with 6 year old son to take the table and chairs and is delighted. Her wee boy was a gorgeous curly haired angel who asked so politely if he could play on the slide while dh put the furniture into the van. Dd and little boy ended up in the summerhouse reading Each Peach Plum by the time we'd finished. Dd is clearing her books and found this seminal book. Both of them mouthing all the words. SadGrin Wibbly moment.

Leg is just the same- and unaffected whether I walk kneel or crawl. It's sitting and lying down which are the worst. I don't know how things are supposed to go with sciatica but I'm not very impressed. ( how much longer??? For Pity's Sake)

Auriga- what an uplifting experience. Better than drugs eh? Wow . Wedding sounds delightful.

Beachy glad you survived! Easy now.!Confused

MI how utterly heartbreaking. Do your girls remember the dc very well?Sad

It'll be underbeds and overbeds tomorrow. Dds room is getting a shakedown . Got my boiler suit and gas mask at the ready. Already found a packed lunch from circa may 2013 in a tesco bag. Could be longer ago than that from before we had a plastic bag tax in NI come to think of it. I have used jute bags for yonks.
< barf>

lalsy · 22/06/2014 20:31

Crem, I'm off to get NBC kit tomorrow, dd's last exam at 9.....she's found it really hard to stay focussed for this long so fingers crossed. How early can I have a drink tomorrow?

NU, I am glad she can come home and I hope you can all relax a teensy bit once she is not in hospital just because they are such unrelaxing strange places..

MI, how sad. Photos bring that sort of thing home so very vividly.

Auriga that sounds wonderful.

I'd really like a holiday right now.

lalsy · 22/06/2014 20:32

And Crem are you sure you should be under beds with your leg? It is rotten it has lasted so long.

motherinferior · 22/06/2014 20:55

We only cleared under the bed because we were replacing it with Auriga's kindly donation of a cabin bed. The room is vastly expanded and DD2 is off to bed specially early. DD1 faintly miffed.Grin

They do remember her.

cremolafoam · 22/06/2014 21:09

Sad MI

Lalsy as soon as dc is dispatched to schoolWineGrin
I won't be going under that bed for love nor money. Dd will have to. Last time we had a proper clearout for new carpeting purposes I found a pair of age 4 knickers. < slattern>

bigTillyMint · 22/06/2014 21:47

OMG Cremo, that makes DD sound positively saintlyGrin

Good Luck to your DD Lalsy - hurrah!

Just been watching the Lorraine Pascale prog on fostering on catch-up and feeling a bit wibbly.

Rosebag · 22/06/2014 23:13

Eleven o'clock and all is well. DD has been fast asleep since about 8.30 having had supper and a damn good bath and hair wash. I can't tell you what the anticipation was like at the airport, waiting for her. The group (80 of them) were pretty much last off the flight but as they came through the cheering and roar from the parental crowd was deafening. What a day.

tilly does this mean a new kitchen? If so wow Envy

BD buttons sounds good!

OPM you put me to shame. Good luck with the 10k. Even though we walked ours and it was only 5k , our just giving page now stands at over 3 grand. Quite chuffed.

MI sad about the little friend Sad
Nite Nite all

SheherazadeSchadenfreude · 22/06/2014 23:52

No lettuce was consumed today in the Schadenfreude Haus. GrinGrin

hattymattie · 23/06/2014 06:30

Hello all - hope NU baby has arrived safely and sorry to hear that your leg is still bad Crem. I do admire your ability to weed through the pain - not that I weed ever!

Have spent the weekend trying to clear out the bedrooms for the painters next week. I think we're going to be camping in the living room. I hate this sort of thing.

DD has Spanish - her last written paper today. After that, only the orals on Thursday and Friday.

Stropps - very I pressed by Fort Knox hen coop on FB, and also Herb's wild wig party.Smile

OP posts:
hattymattie · 23/06/2014 06:30

bah "impressed" Stropps.

Blackduck · 23/06/2014 09:58
