blair ooh, juicy article! Although not a big blog reader I enjoy dipping into the glossy ones like wit and the blonde salad for a bit of escapism but never followed the Londoner as always seemed to be trying too hard to be glossy so the stuff about the fakes makes sense. Btw cutoffs and tod's linus?

secret gorgeous zara dress, really hope its a keeper for you. Think it could also work with a heeled strappy sandal.

maradesbois · 10/06/2014 22:33

secret shopbop v fast, the gigis I ordered late afternoon today have already been shipped!

libertychick · 10/06/2014 23:52

And sigh with relief - have just finished and submitted my first assignment.

considers if TB dress should be my reward

libertychick · 11/06/2014 00:14

Can't catch up properly on today but had to say Grin at Decam buying R&B ballet flats for driving - I thought the link was going to be something cheap and cheerful from H&M!!! They are gorgeous.

Love the CdC cardi and jacket - all lovely.

Sleep that dress is really lovely for you and yes will look equally good dressed up or down. Great buy.

maradesbois · 11/06/2014 08:02

Haha, liberty I thought the same re decam's driving shoes! Well done for getting first assignment in, such a feeling of relief. Have just finished my dissertation & waiting for results, eek!

Drywhiteplease · 11/06/2014 08:08

Keeping it short. Dd is really unhappy at school (unlike her, she's a gregarious chatter box normally) .friends seem to be excluding her. It's horrendous. Had bit hugs and chat with her last night sobbing. Breaks my heart. Have spoken to head of year so she's aware. Just sent her off into the lions den with a big hug and a "chin up, just get through this term". It shouldn't be like that. Sad
Parenting doesn't seem to get any easier.
Sorry, not fashion related......although I'm looking fabulous in butterscotch 7/8, leopard slippers and cream lace shell.....feel sad Sad

Annianni · 11/06/2014 08:17

I've had some sleep... Hurrah! thanks nitol
I feel slightly more human this morning.

Well done Liberty, I think a small treat would be a good idea.

Glad the move went ok Decam.
I also love your idea of a pair of driving shoes :o
I think I'll order those h&m shorts today.
All the ones I like in Gap are 100% cotton and I need a slight stretch.

I'm loving all the JP purchases.
It's a bit depressing though, when I look at the size guide on the outnet and realise they won't fit me Sad
Back on the bike for me today.

Who's been watching MiC?
I've gone off Binky, why is she being such a daft cow?!

Belated welcome to Cow, Betty, and whoever else I've missed.

Annianni · 11/06/2014 08:20

Aw poor dd Dry.
Teenage girls can be vile things.

My dh used to be a bit Shock at satc. But now he'll watch it occasionally without moaning and laugh.

Drywhiteplease · 11/06/2014 08:22

Meant to put a Wink after "fabulous"....was being ironic obv

maradesbois · 11/06/2014 08:29

Thanks to dry. Girls can be so mean. Can see the beginnings of it in ds nursery class already, nothing serious just 'you're not my friend anymore' etc whereas the boys are completely oblivious. At least dd is comfortable talking to you and you've addressed it with the school. Think it's really important for schools to have zero tolerance of bullying behaviours and for parents to reinforce the message at home.

Turquoiseblue · 11/06/2014 08:32

Oh dry, that sounds horrible. Thankfully she s confiding in you. Teen girls can be horrible. (Actually some of em never grow out of it, too) hugs xx

Blair - I had a smile thinking of you hanging the collar on it s own! Lol. Link the RI. Skirt? was it leather?

Santa - love that dress. Shame about the A and O dress though I like the colours in it. The grey one is lovely. You re right will do day/ eve easily.

Queen yeay you got the belt. Is it s special occasion Saturday?

Father s day ? we ll we will be on holidays! So posting parcels to both grandad today. Will bring dh out to a dinner Sunday, kids have cards made. Dd had made the funniest felt tie with sparkly bobbles on it in monti I can see her making dh wear it for the day! Too funny.

lib, good job on the assignment, thought working FT and doing extra study. Mind yourself. Defo need little rewards. Glad you got the skirt.

Turquoiseblue · 11/06/2014 08:34

Oh and Thanks welcome Betty and cows I m a relative newbie too

MarshaBrady · 11/06/2014 08:37

Dry I bet you are looking fabulous, but Sad for your dd. It must be harder as in primary school teachers are very good at social engineering. In ds' school there were, so children were kind to each other. I hope it starts to change for your dd too. I'd feel sad as well.

Mara good luck with your dissertation.

Liberty well done on your assignment. Yes to TB dress! I've just a new brief I'm in the wake early with thoughts zone. I do enjoy it, like solving a puzzle. Also wake thinking about my outnet order for which I've stuffed up the delivery timing.

Anni I am, Binky is rather spoilt. Everyone support me wail, Alex gets off scot free and any friend who dissents is out. I've gone off her too.
Although on a rather shallow note she still looks good. Wink

shopafrolic · 11/06/2014 08:38

Oh Dry that's rubbish. I was excluded from my 'friends' group for about a term back in the day. I still remember how horrid it felt, them all bitching about me and arranging a trip to the cinema together without inviting me (Back to the Future - yikes I'm old!). Hope she has a better day today.
Anni I still love Binx but yes, she is being an idiot bless her

Dry your poor dd. I still remember a horrible period of being excluded from the 'cool' group at school. It was actually a real lightbulb moment for me, as I decided to stop trying to be cool and start being myself and find a group of friends who actually liked me for me. I was lucky in that I did and had a very secure rest of secondary school.

WTF is MiC?

MarshaBrady · 11/06/2014 09:18

Hopefully Made in Chelsea, E4 Monday night. You're missing out Wink not really but it's funny to watch. Good clothes too.

I had my off moment in year 1, I got it over early. Thankfully school got better and better as I got older. 16 to end of university was when I really enjoyed it.

Decameron · 11/06/2014 09:35

That's upsetting for you and your DD, Dry. My niece had the same trouble, her group of friends dropped her, my SIL was so upset for her. She has a new group of friends now and is very happy. I've seen it with DD1 (now 6) too since nursery.

Well done Liberty, you definitely deserve a treat!

Well, I intended to get those shoes anyway, really. Driving home was my excuse! Wink

The Gap jean shorts didn't look good at all on me, Anni, I prefer the H&M shorts.

Lovely belt, Queen. I really like Hobbs for belts.

LinusDKD · 11/06/2014 09:51

Well done liberty and mara!

dry your poor DD! I vividly remember being picked upon by other girls when I was a teen Sad

But it is positive she can talk to you about it and that you are supportive.

I do have to say that DS has also picked up 'you're not my friend' in nursery and it drives me loopy. I am probably a bad mother but he once said that to me so I said it back. Shock

Lots of crying as a result but I apologised and then asked him how he felt when somebody said it to him. He said he didn't like it so I told him that other people don't like it either.

decam I drive in my Gigis without a problem. But any excuse to buy another pair of shoes, right? Wink

I tried on dozens of denim shorts at H&M today but none of them were right. Either the wash was too light or they were too short or they just looked weird.

I might have found some on Asos but it's a bit of a gamble as I can't try them on.

BrandyAlexander · 11/06/2014 09:52

Dry, Hugs for both you and minDry. I really sympathise from bitter experience. You always sound like such a great mum so I know you will be there for her. Flowers

libertychick · 11/06/2014 10:54

Hugs for you and your DD Dry. It seems to happen to every girl at some stage. I had a terrible time in my first couple of years at secondary school and couldn't talk to my Mum. You being there for her will make all the difference. I dread this stuff with my DD.

DH says the Acne skirt is my assignment treat but IMO that's a work skirt so it's almost like a business expense Grin shame HMRC don't see it like that a treat should be frivolous and pretty! I'll work on it.

Well done on getting your dissertation done Mara. When will you have results?

I agree Hobbs is excellent for belts. My hardest wearing, nice work ones are from Hobbs.

MarshaBrady · 11/06/2014 11:10

Liberty I know! Clothes as an expense, I'd like that.

MarshaBrady · 11/06/2014 11:11

Oh and yes, go for something pretty. The TB is perfect.

bettykt · 11/06/2014 11:54

Dry sorry to hear about your daughter but glad she has confided in you and you are there to boost her confidence, does she have long left in school? Glad you look fabulous on the outside even if don't feel it on the inside Thanks

Liberty well done on submitting your first assignment, bet you feel relieved and Mara well done to you to on finishing your dissertation, hope you get the result you want. I have an assignment to complete and can't seem to get get started on it Grin

LinusDKD · 11/06/2014 12:44

Just ordered this dress

I just love the colour and want to give a 'one shoulder' dress a try. I hope it's perfect to just throw on in the evening on holiday to go for dinner so minimal effort and maximum effect.

MarshaBrady · 11/06/2014 13:16

That is fabulous Linus.

C&P skirt has arrived. And surprisingly I love it and great length and price so will keep.

Isabel Marant jumper is very fine. Practically see-through. Am I asking for trouble? Does anyone have fine cashmere silk, does it last ok?
