Let's talk workwear. Maybe a little bit of non workwear fashion chat, too.

My blog is at theworkwearedit.com but our chat goes above and beyond that.

I thought they'd caught on to that though and stopped it?

DH laughing at my rage at UKIP last night - after all the crap they're proposing and I'm incandescent that they blocked up our tumble dryer outlet. "It's the last straw!"

Stokey · 14/05/2014 09:46

OOh I am wearing sheer tights today with my navy pleated J-crew skirt and a blue & white t-shirt tucked in, and snakeskin shoes. Dh said I look like a French tennis player, I think he meant it as a compliment Hmm

I don't often see J-Crew codes, but they had a stealth sale recently - in that they didn't advertise it much, I heard about it on Belinda's blog. I'm on their mailing list but just seem to get endless mails about their new expensive things.

BR have constant offers and sales - if you hold your nerve everything there gets reduced eventually.

Brillenbar · 14/05/2014 12:54

Stokey I've been thinking about a navy pleated skirt. Do you mind me asking how hippy or otherwise are you? I have a feeling that with pleats I will be deluding myself that I don't look mumsy. There is a lovely navy pleat skirt outfit on the Classy Cubicle blog today here www.theclassycubicle.com/

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 14/05/2014 13:22

Oooh, a rare (I think) set of discount codes from TopShop. Can you see the image with the codes OK?

Am wearing my new necklace today with a cobalt merino crew neck jumper (old from Gap) and v happy w it.

I am quite hippy Belinda - definitely an hourglass with big boobs & hips.
But think it works OK - it's just goes with everything. Will try & post a photo on here tomorrow when I'm dossing around working from home.

I saw this midi one in Anthropologie in the window which looked nice, but is making even the model look hippy in rhe picture

BillStickersIsInnocent · 14/05/2014 15:26

Mango order arrived.

This jacket is ok but looks cheap I think. Perhaps better in navy.

This quilted jacket is really lovely. Lovely colours with a contrasting lining, which can be reversible if you took the brand label out. It looks great with jeans and tan ankle boots so not for work but isn't brilliantly flattering on me, something about the shoulders doesn't sit right think it needs a smaller frame. And this mum and daughter pic has put me off

Littlepinkpear · 14/05/2014 16:29

Gosh you lot move quick Grin currently nursing 3 week old DD, so not seen the thread in a couple of days.

I have a few things in my basket at Cos, I'm about 200 miles from the nearest store. Delivery is £6!!!

Do they ever do free delivery/returns or discounts? I can't recall ever seeing any.

lurkingaround · 14/05/2014 17:23

I think Cos rarely do discounts/free delivery outside of sales. I find ordering from them very difficult because their clothes are so random (you never know what will suit and what size will work for you), delivery and returns can take ages, and shipping is expensive as are returns. Given that they have a minimalist look, I expect a similar efficiency in their service. But nah. Same old H&M service.

M&S cage sandals are great aren't they? No purchases to share, a v busy time for me here. I did but DH shorts and tees in the Gap discount thing (for hols/good weather). They're all good. I never thought I would be the type to buy my husband's clothes. Occasionally it irritates me. But then when he's wearing the same ole tat from 10 years ago that is now threadbare and not fashionably so, like he thinks, I get even more irritated. So I do buy. Saves an amount of irritation on balance.

I didn't order the J. Crew pleated skirt. I thought it might splay out on my hips and give me that awful hippy swingy effect.. It does look lovely tho. Nothing I've bought online lately has worked. Except DH stuff.

lurkingaround · 14/05/2014 17:25

Yes Belinda, can see the codes. Thanks. Will browse later, hopefully.

Littlepinkpear · 14/05/2014 17:39

Yeah I'm ordering multiple sizes, so I don't want to have a massive returns bill.
Might just wait until the next time I'm down in Glasgow Hmm
The cage sandals look great, might give them a bash tooSmile

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/05/2014 18:04

Love that printed Mango jacket. Padding prob no good on norks though, although I am small framed and narrow shouldered.

lurkingaround · 14/05/2014 18:05

Oh I did try that Chanel Les Beiges make up. Thought it was really lovely. Didn't buy, but I might for summer.

EduardoBarcelona · 14/05/2014 18:44

EduardoBarcelona · 14/05/2014 18:46

Stokey · 14/05/2014 18:49

Well now that I have photographed myself in the skirt, I think I do look quite hippy. But here it is

BillStickersIsInnocent · 14/05/2014 18:50

Yep Cos and H & M are part of the same group.

Sorry you couldn't open the links - it's only the cloth kit alike jacket Belinda ordered and returned yonks ago and a boring black blazer.

What's in your order?

cafecito · 14/05/2014 19:00

ooh well this is good ,sorry I didn't see the other thread, have exiled self for a bit -

but ooh yeay I LIVE in workwear, well, I have to - and am not having the best time as have gained weight this year stresseatinghotcrossbuns and latte addiction so all my previously lovely things are teeeeny tiny on me or wholly unsuitable. every day starts with 'gah what can I wear! oh noo, that's terrible.. ah where are my keys.. aah we're late.. run'

EduardoBarcelona · 14/05/2014 19:01

EduardoBarcelona · 14/05/2014 19:05

look Blinners, JL do it in yella in qualidee poly

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/05/2014 19:19

Like that t-shirt - is it nice irl? I have a couple of Ted Baker ones with silk panels at the front and they are amongst my most worn tops. Good for work, tucked into a pencil skirt or left untucked over cigarette trew, nic with skinnies etc.

Stokey - I think the skirt is fine but maybe needs a neater, more fitted top?

EduardoBarcelona · 14/05/2014 19:46

sometimes Reemy, I think i will never know

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/05/2014 19:53

Never know what? Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh - are you still waiting for it?!!!
