Let's talk workwear. Maybe a little bit of non workwear fashion chat, too.

My blog is at theworkwearedit.com but our chat goes above and beyond that.

might try yours. am a 12 - only a 10 if super stretchy or over generous ( Gap style)

what size am i?

Bearleigh · 12/06/2014 19:00

Ooh I like the chiffon spot. (I Do Not Need Any More Clothes. )

After the commuter shoe discussions today I have been looking at women's footwear around London. It seems to be mostly ballet pumps often apparently held on with difficulty/clenched toes, or Birkis, which look very difficult to walk in if they only have one slim strap. That may be due to lack of any heel as Stokey said upthread.

My main requirement for commuting shoes is that I can run across the station to catch the train without teetering.

TroyMcClure · 12/06/2014 19:05

i walk MILES in havaianas

all of DLP and a good few miles around here. Although lunnon no.

would do bouncy sports type ballets www.clarks.co.uk/p/20353277 if I had to

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/06/2014 19:10

I bought a 12, Troy. Am a 10 in M&S jeans, if that's any use?

TroyMcClure · 12/06/2014 19:31

right , thinking they might be skimpy i got a 12 and 14

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/06/2014 19:33

Hope they will be long enough for you - they are pretty much full length, rather than cropped, on me.

And if you hate them, don't tell me - they are a bit of a departure for me and I felt good in them today, so I don't want my bubble bursting! Grin

TroyMcClure · 12/06/2014 19:56

7/8 on me maybe? Boss at work wore the most AWFUL trousers the other day, think she thought they were dropped, were like 80s pedal pushers - cropped trs have def got longer

TroyMcClure · 12/06/2014 19:58

cropped

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/06/2014 19:59

Yuck to pedal pushers. I don't like cropped but do like 7/8ths.

Littlepinkpear · 12/06/2014 21:05

Remus - white cotton top - this any good?

www.stories.com/gb/Sale/Ready-to-wear/Open-work_cotton_top/590747-4079809.1

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/06/2014 21:13

Thanks but no - button down and severe and white = recipe for disaster on me.

I like this but might be a bit high

Littlepinkpear · 12/06/2014 21:27

That's lovely, I have one very like that from monsoon last years though...

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 12/06/2014 21:29

Remus, have you seen the Oasis version of that Whistles one?

Re commuter shoes: slippers give better foot coverage than ballets, so no toe clenching required. My Sam Edelman Adena spiky slippers are comfort itself. Ditto my Russell & Bromley leopard slippers. Birkies are not for me, though. Neither those Clark's shoes. Although Havaianas? I'm Australian, so my love for such shoes runs deep.

TroyMcClure · 12/06/2014 22:01

noddyholder · 12/06/2014 22:38

I was thinking of sending you the smelling salts ;)

TroyMcClure · 12/06/2014 22:43

I think I'd just go fugly trainers. Working girl style

RonaldMcDonald · 13/06/2014 01:51

Fugly trainers are all day wear now Troy as well you know

I have just bought this for a bit of crisp shirt action

Saw it AT A SUPERMARKET I adore and if I hate end of season meh

Bearleigh · 13/06/2014 07:54

Your supermarket skirt is very nice Ronald. It looks like it cost quite a bit more than it did. Definite candidate for a crisp shirt.

TroyMcClure · 13/06/2014 09:54

Ooh it's just like my new look pollen skirt I've got on today.

noddyholder · 13/06/2014 10:29

What do they feel like on? I had a swimsuit like that in teh 80s and was boiling!

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 13/06/2014 11:31

How's the new Look pollen skirt, Troy? Outfit sounds v nice.
