Kate Down Under...the fashion verdict so far...

Changed my username when I changed my password but am a regular...

Thought we could enjoy a (shallow and lighthearted, yes) analysis of Kate's antipodean wardrobe choices?

I'm finding it all a bit matchy matchy so far, all the colour blocking reminds me of the queen herself.

Would like to see we in more trousers other than the skinny navy jeans + Breton combo which has been done to death.

The designer of the Zoo dress didn't want to be named Shock

ElizabethJennings · 20/04/2014 07:12

The Easter Sunday church outfit is SO dull. And someone stage an intervention with the eyeliner FFS, it's so ageing.

Legologgo · 20/04/2014 07:27

What's with thAt naff belt William always has on? I bloody love baby boys. squidges chub

Legologgo · 20/04/2014 07:28

Lol at bing link. No one uses bing?

susannahmoodie · 20/04/2014 07:38

Today reminds me of what her mum wore at the wedding. V middle aged, which was fine for her middle aged mum. I also think her face looks odd in today's pics- a bit puffy??

I always think she looks a bit dull 'on duty' but she has to look smart, she can't worry about her skirt getting blown up in the wind, needs to be a respectable length if she needs to sit down somewhere, needs to be colourful so she can be seen by well wishers etc...

She looks great when she's off duty, the photos of them when they first got their puppy or skiing etc.

I imagine she treats it like a uniform and wears more normal clothes the rest of time.

MrsCampbellBlack · 20/04/2014 07:50

I think she's looked great the past few days. And George is very very cute.

She looked nice when watching the rugby match in her grey cashmere jumper - I suspect that is how she dresses most of the time.

William has very broad shoulders I've noticed.

Legologgo · 20/04/2014 08:40

She's doing received wisdom sasoon wise still. As Diana did. She looked TERRIBLE initially.

Sure she needs confidence to do own thing. Bet someone's sewn swear absorbers in all those dresses too.

Legologgo · 20/04/2014 08:40

Fashion. Not sasoon

Legologgo · 20/04/2014 08:45

I love the plain ness of the plain grey. But again. Why a hat? No one else in a Hat

Mrswellyboot · 20/04/2014 08:51

I love the grey coat and hat. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I think it's gorgeous

George ... What a dote

TSSDNCOP · 20/04/2014 08:53

I think the DOC could really pull off the VB dresses. the length would work, not sure she could bend down to talk to the littlies in them though. The problem is that if VB dresses her they'll have to give her an honour, Sarah Burton's got an OBE.

I like her church coat today. But agree with others on the wedges. Wedges are what you wear on hols, not on a royal meet and greet.

coffeeinbed · 20/04/2014 09:01

Swear absorbers would be very useful!
Grin

Legologgo · 20/04/2014 09:10

Lol. Sweat !!!

sassytheFIRST · 20/04/2014 09:41

I need swear absorbers sewn in my clothes. For those awkward moments with the mil.

Grey coat is nice. Pleased to see prince G looking a bit more like a normal baby and not a 1920s throwback too.

sassytheFIRST · 20/04/2014 09:42

Bing fact....top search on bing is...Google. Fail!

trixymalixy · 20/04/2014 09:51

I love the grey coat, it's very elegant. Not keen on the hat.

The blue and white dress is better than some of the other outfits, but the black shoes look terrible with it. In fact she shoul stay away from any kind of black in her outfits as even a small bit seems to age her.

She really suits blues and greens. That teal evening dress is totally stunning on her.

lurkingaround · 20/04/2014 09:54

Oh I really thought swear absorbers too! Y'know, to keep her polite. Good idea tho. Useful for many of us I would've thought.

I'm no fashionista but really her clothes are just yawn.

BoffinMum · 20/04/2014 09:55

Air hostess chic.

tak1ngchances · 20/04/2014 09:56

Love the Easter Sunday church outfit. I think the looks elegant and chic. Not so keen on the zoo dress

hollyisalovelyname · 20/04/2014 10:05

Susannahmoodie I agree with you re the outfit today looking like her Mum's wedding outfit ( which I thought was beautiful) and her face looking different (puffy)..
But I do think she has looked great throughout the tour.
It can't be easy despite all the support and she hasn't put a foot wrong- I like her wedges - height and comfort - what's not to like. Smile
She is a credit to her country.
You can't please everybody.
I'm Irish and think you should be very proud of William and Kate as your representatives in Australia.

SquidgyMummy · 20/04/2014 10:06

Grey coat was lovely as was the hat. However for a designer coat, it looks a tiny bit lumpy and 2 inches short in the sleeve...

Not sure about the lemon broderie anglaise dress at the zoo.

George of course looked fabulous! I love his range of expressions!! Bet his grandma carole is missing him!!

HermioneWeasley · 20/04/2014 12:17

If she wasn't pin thin she'd look really frumpy IMO. And for the love of god, lay off the eyeliner!

coffeeinbed · 20/04/2014 12:19

The sleeves on the zoo dress were funny, really wide.
I liked it otherwise.

GiddyUpCowboy · 20/04/2014 12:43

I just checked out Williams belt, it is not my cup of tea either. I wonder where he got his Zoo slipper/shoes?
