I love this Raoul shirt. But it's not right for me. Mig I thought it would be good for you.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 18/03/2014 09:48

Morning all

Saw these and thought of Dry - still too edgy?

MU in July sounds fab, as long as it's in the second half of the month, as 5 family birthdays take up the first 2 weekends for me! Wink

Great pin Marsha, love that jacket.

LinusDKD · 18/03/2014 10:40

Just opened the letterbox and found a package from mig full of lovely magazines and newspaper supplements.

Thanks Wine

The DC managed to get their hands on some of them when I opened the package but they're all safely put away now so they don't end up full of pen and/or ripped to shreds.

I think a long bath is in order tonight!

LinusDKD · 18/03/2014 10:56

Had to think of one when I saw these

QueenCadbury · 18/03/2014 11:04

Morning voguettes.

Meet up date is provisionally 5 July but not sure whether it's London or Birmingham....?

Popped to the shops quickly to return the skinny jeans that I bought last week in return for the high rise skinny jeans Confused. I decided that they gave me a muffin top and the length was all wrong. I was going to go into river island and try their jeans but couldn't be bothered as too much to get done at home. I did nip into fatface though as I was waiting for gap to open and bought this tee. Perfect for me and I love it. Will be going straight into the suitcase!

QueenCadbury · 18/03/2014 11:08

this tee. I think the last link took you to the whole website.

QueenCadbury · 18/03/2014 11:09

Grrr!! Now it links it in a peach colour. I got phantom which is basically dark grey.

Stokey · 18/03/2014 11:10

Morning all

what do you think of these macs?

A bit Boden/like what DD wears or could work as a spring coat?

Not sure I could go for patterned but quite like the green one.

shopafrolic · 18/03/2014 11:33

QueenC love that tee for you. I'm not usually a fan of fatface.
With regards MU what did the majority go for location wise?
Stokey the macs aren't to my taste at all I'm afraid, I prefer more structure so can't help sorry.

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 18/03/2014 12:49

QueenC great top, really you.

Stokey not keen I'm afraid. Too bright for me. But if you really like it then ignore me!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 18/03/2014 13:23

Royal Mail have lost my Aldo shoes I bought last week - saying they were delivered on Friday at 8.58, when in fact no one was in the office (ha - makes us all sound like slackers!). I need to ring back the delivery office tomorrow to speak to the manager Hmm

Lovely top QueenC, I am not a fat face person either but I can see how that is perfect for your style, imo fat face is a very "natural" style personality shop. And of course the lace for ingenue :)

So question of the day - is there a particular shop/designer that you feel is very "you" in terms of their general design aesthetic? For me it's Reiss for workwear, don't own a lot from there but I love the structured/plain/sometimes bright feel of it all. No idea what it would be for casual wear.

If the MU is on the 5th July I don't think I'll be able to come, but that's just tough for me if everyone else is free :(

shopafrolic · 18/03/2014 13:55

Oh boo Blair rubbish Royal Mail - hope they track them down.
MUs are always tough as it's so tricky to co-ordinate everyone - there'll be other dates for sure.
In terms of a shop that's very me - Whistles I guess (just wish they used more natural fibres), and 'designer' I love the stuff Dagmar do. My favourite things are my simple Dagmar knits.

OP posts:
QueenCadbury · 18/03/2014 13:55

blair I don't think that date is yet set in stone bu I figured that anything later runs into school hols which may be tricky.

stokey honestly? I'm not keen I'm afraid. It just looks a little too shapeless to me. But then I've never met you and you may completely rock it Smile.

Does anyone else ever think they look an idiot in sunglasses. I've just wasted 10 mins of my life photographing myself in all 3 pairs and hate them all (and no,I'm not putting them out for the Mnv jury!). Because I have a really high bridge of my nose all glasses seem to sit up too high. Wondering whether I can find any at the airport .

I don't think there's any one shop that's totally me. If I could only shop anywhere for the rest of my life it would be gap as their stuff tends to fit really well but I'm totally uninspired by this seasons offerings. Whitestuff/fatface are good for me as I like their tops/blouses although they're not great for winter colours and tend to be a bit dowdy. Monsoon can be me but can be far too bohemian shit sometimes. I wish I had an esprit near me as a lot of their stuff seems to be very me when I look online.

QueenCadbury · 18/03/2014 13:58

Ooh, there's a sunglasses hut and mulberry. May try and buy new sunnies.

Stokey · 18/03/2014 13:59

How annoying about your shoes Blair

Think I like the colour more than the cut of those coats, agree about the lack of structure Shop

Just ventured into J Crew for the first time and fell in love with this jumper. Didn't buy as it is £££ but now I see it's sold out am starting to regret it.

And the metallic sandals that Blair linked earlier are lovely, there are two different styles, both great.

Also saw the most expensive socks in the world in there, had to hoist my jaw shut.

Blair I like Reiss too for work stuff although it is a bit hit & miss, have a couple of great dresses by them. But am trying to mix up my work wardrobe to make it more fun & fashionable. Everyone is so grey/black at work, one of my favourite items this winter has been a bright yellow skirt.

santamarianovella · 18/03/2014 14:04

queen beautiful tee,it is very you,

stokey sorry, too child like I think.

blair I hate when that happens,it ruins your dayand you can't stop think about the package,or is it just me?

To answer your question, for me its Vanessa Bruno,I love love her designs, very understated, and not too structured, or showy, and she uses beautiful fabrics, not a lot of synthetic ones, most of my wardrobe comes from VB,and now a few bits from marant,it seems at the moment I only shop at these too, must branch out!

Speaking of marant I made the huge mistake of trying this kimono cardi thing, and now I'm obsessed! It looks amazing with plaid shirt and jeans,or just a simple tee and skirt, I keep telling myself its perfect for the next couple of months but then it will be too hot to wear, not to mention I'm trying to save for other things ,but ohh its so pretty,Sad, marsha I totally see you rocking it Wink

Stokey · 18/03/2014 14:04

QueenC don't think I can rock it at all, am short (5ft3) & petite so would probably be swamped.

Good luck with sunglasses hunt, I tend to go enormous or aviators.

I can't do July 5th as am abandoning leaving children for quality time with grandma to go to Ibiza for a 40th.

But don't know if I would make it anyway, a bit scared by how trendy you all are.

shopafrolic · 18/03/2014 14:07

Stokey I am so Envy Envy Envy about Ibiza. How exciting. I can't wait to get back there (next time with DS and DH rather than the hedonistic old days).
And don't be scared, definitely come to a MU - we're a real varied bunch, all shapes and sizes, all fashions and budgets, it's great fun promise.

shopafrolic · 18/03/2014 14:08

QueenC Sunglasses Hut definitely the way to go. Not sure which airport you're flying from but they usually have a massive range.

I had a fun morning on rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré and avenue Montaigne with a girlfriend - we were looking for bag as a 50th birthday present for a common friend. Lots of us are clubbing together for this.

Our current first choice is this Lanvin Happy, but in the gold colourway. Friend is blond and fair skinned and wears a lot of white and beige. Any opinions or better ideas?

Drywhiteplease · 18/03/2014 14:14

5th July good for me...either location. Just need definite plans so can book ticket in early enough Smile
Blair those sandals are lovely but bit more dressy than I'd like, have going out sandals.....thanks for thinking of me though .
Stokey depends on your frame and wardrobe I guess. They're a bit different.

Bonsoir · 18/03/2014 14:17

santamarianovella - I saw that Isabel Marant kimono cardigan when I was buying my IM pink boyfriend trousers in Printemps last week. It is gorgeous and very timeless... you will wear it to death!

shopafrolic · 18/03/2014 14:21

Bonsoir beautiful bag and what a generous gift :) I am no help at all regarding designer bags but just wanted to say that I'm sure your friend will be thrilled.

Thank you shop Smile. Our friend's husband is giving a very glamorous party for her in the private room of Monsieur Bleu at the Palais de Tokyo so we want a present that is suitably glamorous and frivolous!

shopafrolic · 18/03/2014 14:34

Gorgeous
