Funny story from work.........

Doing phonics workshop, focussing on rhyming words.
Me "can anyone think of a word that rhymes with toffee"
Hmm
Me"I'll give you a clue, it's what I drink in the morning"
5yr old "wine!"
Wrong on so many levels! but only on special occasions Wink scary Grin....love kids! I could chat to them all day! shame I have to teach them something!

LinusDKD · 17/03/2014 19:11

Oh dry let me know what the red is like!

I have been looking for red trousers since last summer but didn't have any luck finding the perfect pair.

But I am quite fussy when it comes to red, it has to be just right.

I did buy some lovely Paige skinnies in the HoF sale but the colour looked completely different IRL. It was a lovely raspberry colour which I loved but which wasn't red.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 17/03/2014 19:18

Dry that is so funny! Out of the mouths of babes Grin

I'll keep an eye out for cotton sundresses, they seem to be like hen's teeth. Reminds me though, I got the latest Me+Em catalogue today (lots of lovely things!) and the other day a letter from the founder (not personally addressed obv!) thanking me for ordering from them in the past. Anyone else?

8 trousers is certainly dedicated! Hope you keep the red :)

shopafrolic · 17/03/2014 19:19

Have just realised I'm in London this Saturday am. Anyone about for a late morning coffee?

Ah ok shop I thought it was a nice touch. Not that I need much encouragement to shop there, because their clothes are lovely!

Am in London on Wed (day off for shopping, yay!) but I was hoping someone would organise a proper meet up sometime... this thread is so fun and I would really love to meet you all. Blush ok backing into a quiet corner now.

Drywhiteplease · 17/03/2014 19:49

Will do linus...tbh the red of my Hobbs skirt is a touch too bright but I wear it anyway

MarshaBrady · 17/03/2014 20:02

Blair yes that would be fab! I think July, (can I say that yet?). Not sure of date yet but will let you know.

Bonsoir I think Matches or Liberty. I need to go in and try a few on. The lovely weather makes me stay home rather than go into town, but will do soon.

Santa argh I had a look at NaP and Matches, and couldn't see anything close really. Lots of very odd or difficult dresses around.

Shop boo I have dc parties this weekend. Otherwise I would. Be great to fix a date for everyone though. Lovely dresses. You'll be fine with those. Mine are too dressy for the wedding.

Dry that is cute. Well done on the Boden order, loads!

Which reminds me I was looking at pins today, and ds2 said mummy that's you! on one which made me Smile (mind you it doesn't take much does it, for them to say that).

What was your best. Mummy that's you! from your dc?

BrandyAlexander · 17/03/2014 20:03

Grin Dry!

Blair, I got the letter too. Don't back into a corner Grin, there will probably be a MU in the summer.

Shop, sorry no can do! As you saw from my pm yesterday, I would have a rather peed off husband on my case Grin

Drywhiteplease · 17/03/2014 20:04

When my dcs were really little, one of them pointed to Andrew castle on Breakfast tv and said "Dadddy!!!" Grin

OneLittleLady · 17/03/2014 20:06

Marsha my Ds lovingly tells me I look like a model and I'm the best Mum in the world and I'm also super pretty. He, when very young, pointed to a picture of Yasmin Le Bon and said 'that's you in Grandas paper mum' (he's never called me mummy, only ever mum)

Annianni · 17/03/2014 20:28

There's been a brown haired young girl on the back of the Cheerios box recently, Ds2 says it's me :o

Annianni · 17/03/2014 20:29

Dry :o

Topazandpearl · 17/03/2014 20:47

Me too for the Shamrock! Still bugs me that I miss a Bank Holiday Sad. Happy St Patrick's night to you all.
Hope DH is recovering shop, must have been a shock.
I bet that anyone reading "Light between the oceans" won't be able to put it down.
Love those tales One, Anni and Dry. When DD was young she pointed to a pic of George Clooney, saying "Daddy!" (Not a stealth boast btw, looks nothing like him!) Needless to say, DH was very chuffed Grin.

LinusDKD · 17/03/2014 20:50

Forgot to Shamrock for all the Irish MNVoguettes!

If it wasn't a fast day I would drink a Guinness to your health!

santamarianovella · 17/03/2014 21:02

marsha there seem to be nothing inspiring around ATM,and I guss you would want something you can wear loads again,

dry DSS, tells me I look like an animated character from a game he plays on Xbox, dh also swears that we have the same look Hmm,

AmberNectarine · 17/03/2014 21:05

Marsha when I bought my Violet Lake bikini (the red one) I had tried it on and decided to keep so pinned the bikini model pic from the site. DS leaned over and said 'Mummy!'. Ah, if only.

justasecond · 17/03/2014 21:17

Happy St Paricks day to Decam Liberty and Turquoise!!
Shop hope dh is better now, sounds v painful. I love the Jcrew shoes that Blair linked.
Blair love the sound of your outfit. I dont wear a lot of red but I love red and grey together.
Marsha look forward to seeing what dress you choose! All your purchases seem to be so well considered. I am trying (and failing) to be more like you Grin I am too much of a magpie at heart.
I quite like the idea of a longer unstructured trench coat but not sure how much I would get to wear it as once it warms up a bit more, might look a bit daft
would prefer non black though

maradesbois · 17/03/2014 21:42

Hi everyone,

[Shamrock] Happy Paddy's Day! Shamrock

Just sat down after entertaining 3 x under-5s all day - in bed already!

Haven't seen any news at all and just read on here about L'Wren Scott, how terribly sad. Read an interview with her recently in one of the glossies and thought she came across so well.

Would be so up for a MU in the summer, like blair would love to meet some of you in the flesh.

queenc I've been going coatless the past few days, have a big cashmere poncho type of thing from theory which can fling on over most of my casual wardrobe.

marsha ds has always believed I am the model on the zara website - not a mistake anyone else is likely to make!

amber could I ask which violet lake bikini you have and what you think of it? I have a one-piece (vesper, navy) but if I manage to shed the extra stone am battling with at the moment would like a bikini for this summer.

I am going to go against the grain here and say that I loved SATC back in its day. It started when I was at uni and reminds me of happy nights in with flatmates. At the time Carrie was my favourite character but thought Charlotte had the looks and the lifestyle, never did understand her decision re the art gallery job, that would be my dream. Love SJP too & think she seems like such a nice, genuine person who lives about as normal a life she can in NYC. Saw the other thread about her house, think we have the same colour green walls!

QueenCadbury · 17/03/2014 21:56

shop would love to meet you on Saturday but will be in Marrakech Grin.

Packing is almost done and I'm now getting super excited!!!

I just read on Facebook about l'wren Scott just as I have literally been deciding whether to take my sequin cardi of hers. I definitely will now.

dry fab story. marsha I'm sure the dc have said that's you to a few things but I can't remember what Confused

libertychick · 18/03/2014 07:24

Morning all.

DD has done the 'Mummy it's you' thing with Cindy Crawford Grin. Unfortunately it's only because of the lip mole!

Dry I love that wine for brekkie story!

Blair and Marade would be lovely to see you both at an MU. Shop sorry I can't do this Saturday.

I have been working since 6am - need to go shower and find something to wear. Everything needs ironing (sigh).

shopafrolic · 18/03/2014 08:15

No worries about Saturday. I'm only flying in and out anyway. What was the decision on date and location for July? Did I miss it?
Wearing the new I&I breton today - really good quality

MarshaBrady · 18/03/2014 08:59

Morning. Love these look-a-likes. I can see it.

Mara that would be great if you could join us. Everyone on here is very welcome. It is a little strange at first on the first time, then a glass of fizz and it's fab. Then it's really good for all the other mus. Definitely worth it.

Love these jeans. Love French Voguettes in general.

I'll try and find the pin that made ds exclaim it was me. It's a goodun, he did well Grin

MarshaBrady · 18/03/2014 09:00

Thanks Justa! I wish I didn't have to be quite so considered and could splash more on stuff. But I do want to use this for lots of summer evenings and/or lunches too.

MarshaBrady · 18/03/2014 09:00

Topaz a belated Shamrock to you.
