stokey I'm not trendy at all. I shop in fatface after all Grin. But whatever our shape/size/budget/ style the one thing that unites us all is our love of clothes/fashion.

shop I'm flying from stanstead.

bonsoir gorgeous bag

santa gorgeous. Just gorgeous.

maradesbois · 18/03/2014 14:57

Hi,

Wasn't going to check the thread until this evening but having a grrrr moment (builders/neighbours/listed building consent/stupid reasons for holding up simple decorating work...) and needed some cheering up with happy chat.

queenc I can do 5 July if its in London, Birmingham would be tricky.

marsha anything that involves fizz is fine by me!

shop forgot to say yday sorry about your dh and hope he's feeling a bit better. x

bonsoir you make me want to be in Paris shopping this afternoon! I would meander down rue du faubourg picking up some bangles at Hermes, maybe a bag from Chloe and a glass of fizz at Bristol or Sofitel bar

santamarianovella · 18/03/2014 15:40

bonsoir you are making me want to rush back to matches and buy it! I must think about it for a coupe of days though,

And concerning your friend,it's a lovely thing to do,and there are lots of beautiful bags at the moment but its best to try asking your friend indirectly about which bag she likes/don't like,

If it was me I would love to receive a celine cabas phantom as a birthday present Wink,

mara I would add afternoon tea at le Meurice to your paris Itinerary too!

LinusDKD · 18/03/2014 15:50

Quickly popping in to say that the Céline shop called!

My heart missed a beat but then the SA told me they hadn't received a blue Hobo but a green one. Sad

Oh well, maybe for the best!

Will try a catch-up this evening when the DC are in bed.

AmberNectarine · 18/03/2014 16:00

mara I have the Volpe top and whatever the matching bottoms are called. I like it a lot, had it for c 2 years but the top only just fits as I am tailing off bf now!

Ordered this crazy playsuit. Hope it works, I've not felt so excited by a garment for a while!

OneLittleLady · 18/03/2014 16:09

the playsuit is lovely Amber I'd love to be able to wear one but they just don't suit me

maradesbois · 18/03/2014 17:09

santa why not while I'm at it! Gorgeous Marant btw.

linus the cobalt celine hobo is gorgeous, saw it 'in the flesh' earlier this year but not sure if that store would have any left. Can pm you about it if you want. The trio bag was gorgeous in that colour too as were the pouches and, well, everything! If you like minimal bags I was also admiring Mansur Gavriel on NaP. Hadn't heard of them before but love the simplicity.

blair in answer to your question earlier i would say stella mc cartney or zara, both just 'work' for me and could pretty much always go in and (mentally) choose a whole new wardrobe.

amber thanks. Am still toying with bikini or another one piece but like the brand. Fab playsuit!

Bonsoir · 18/03/2014 17:14

santa - our friend has lots of bags already (she is quite a Céline and Goyard tote girl)... so we are trying to get something she definitely doesn't have, and is a bit "fun" IYSWIM - something really self-indulgent. We also saw a really pretty clutch in Bottega Veneta...

AmberNectarine · 18/03/2014 18:15

I like the idea of something fun and frivolous she wouldn't chose for herself bonsoir. In those circs I'd love the receive something nuts from Charlotte Olympia.

Bonsoir · 18/03/2014 18:22

AmberNectarine - yes... she's a conservative New Yorker in Paris designer-clad disguise, though...

MarshaBrady · 18/03/2014 18:25

I'd go for the Lanvin. Pretty and frivolous. Gorgeous and not what you'd buy otherwise.

MarshaBrady · 18/03/2014 18:26

Santa oh no now I love it too Grin. Will check it out when I go in and swoon a bit.

Mara I'd going for the intersection been Céline and Isabel Marant. So a bit casual and a bit neat. When it's on sale, or I can do. Otherwise I do really like getting cheaper things from the outnet.

maradesbois · 18/03/2014 18:28

bonsoir completely get your point re fun/frivolous as opposed to everyday bag but just wondering if these options may be a bit extreme for a celine/goyard tote kind of girl? Only saying as I am also that girl minus the celine and although beautiful the others are just not me (wouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth though!) Goyard does a tote that I love, think its called bois and was thinking maybe one of those in a fun colour with her initials? Just an idea.

MarshaBrady · 18/03/2014 18:28

Sorry that was to Blair!

Stokey love that J Crew jumper and those socks! Oh my word.

Shop how is your dh feeling?

Back later when I can concentrate.

AmberNectarine · 18/03/2014 18:34

Yes I'm probably a bit quirkier than your friend. I like that Lanvin a lot - classic shape but a bit of glitz.

Did anyone see the new Anya collection in the press - bags themed around Classic British brands. I LOVED it.

Bonsoir · 18/03/2014 18:50

mara - I really love the Goyard totes too - I have a St Louis in white (sans initials) and my friend has a couple. With initials.

She has quite an extensive accessories collection already, as you can see Grin. She's a jewellery designer when not being a SAHM.

We are going to sleep on it. I think the Lanvin is quite her - I showed it to DP who thought it would do too.

LinusDKD · 18/03/2014 19:13

Evening!

bonsoir I prefer the Lanvin. The design of the BV is beautiful but the colour is not my thing.

mara thanks for the offer but at that price I will have to see the bag myself IRL.

All this bag talk has reminded me it's a while since I wore my bordeaux Trio so I think I will dig it out and wear it tomorrow.

queenc I look weird in most glasses not just sunglasses. I have a very square face with chubby cheeks and most frames just don't suit me. It takes me ages to find a pair I like and then only after trying on after half the opticians.

I would love some Ray Bans (wayfarers or aviators) but they just look rubbish on me.

shopafrolic · 18/03/2014 19:14

Aaaargh - have just realised first wedding is end of march, not end of April so won't be able to get those J Crew sandals on time - I've emailed customer services to ask if they have them in the London store for Saturday. If anyone spots anything similar for around £100 please shout. Thanks

I know you want gold but these nude ones are nice zara

santa I adore that IM kimono cardigan. If it was navy or black I would be very tempted.

LinusDKD · 18/03/2014 19:21

maybe a bit too fierce?

QueenCadbury · 18/03/2014 19:36

sandals for shop

shopafrolic · 18/03/2014 19:39

I can't walk in Zara shoes Linus - they break me :(
Love those QueenC - very high though!
Will have to look on Saturday after haircut. Can't believe I got my dates so muddled.
