Is it acceptable to do your make up on the train .. Powder blush mascara and lip balm. Nothing gross like eyebrow plucking
I do get some funny looks. Isn't it normal/acceptable?
What's a girl to do?

Sorry Madbus

Viviennemary · 07/03/2014 22:20

People putting on their full mask of slap on the train drive me mad. I have to move seats. Can't see why anyone would think this is reasonable.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 07/03/2014 22:21

Actually can't even make sense of your posts now scottish

NigellasDealer · 07/03/2014 22:21

'the slapperatti' Grin

scottishmummy · 07/03/2014 22:22

You understand enough to assert in repeating myself, and you're Offsky?
Cheerios then

NuggetofPurestGreen · 07/03/2014 22:22

And I can't see what is unreasonable about it Vivienne, other than if the maker-putter-on-er is getting make up on their neighbours.

squoosh · 07/03/2014 22:23

I want to meet the woman mentioned previously who applies makeup, straightens her hair, eats her yogurt and gulps her redbull on the morning commute. That's a heckuvva multi tasker.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 07/03/2014 22:24

'Offsky'?

scottishmummy · 07/03/2014 22:24

The. Odour the process, the gurning, faffing with various products
It's minging

MadBusLady · 07/03/2014 22:24

Pint of warm water, enough said.

scottishmummy · 07/03/2014 22:24

Red bull, hair straighteners, cereal, hell yes that's got it all going on

Clarabumps · 07/03/2014 22:25

I don't really give a fuck what other commuters think. I'm quite sure the people who decided not to wash their armpits or brush their teeth weren't thinking of my commuting experience. Anyway, I don't commute anymore so it's a non issue but when I did and I was running late, I put on make up on the train.
Call the police, take me away for poor train etiquette.
I'm ashamed, ASHAMED!
Nah, not really.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 07/03/2014 22:25

I don't think you know what minging means. 'Faffing with various products' Hmm.

MooMaid · 07/03/2014 22:27

Who actually thinks that putting your make-up on is like changing a tampon?? Hmm

Clarabumps · 07/03/2014 22:27

Nuggeto, I think it means "making oneself look better through the process of make up application"

Clarabumps · 07/03/2014 22:28

I just have images of someone making faces like one of those old men in a gurning competition. No judgement if that's you scottishmummy.

morethanpotatoprints · 07/03/2014 22:28

If you feel ok putting make up on why not?
I'm sure there are more offensive things going on than a bit of make up.

aGirlDownUnder1 · 07/03/2014 22:29

I really don't get the big drama of people putting make-up on. I personally wouldn't care less as long it doesn't smell and your not invading someone's personal privacy then I thinks it's fine.

On the scale of thing what people do on the train, it's pretty minor.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 07/03/2014 22:29

Aw that's makes sense now Clara.

As I said earlier in the thread I was happily putting my makeup on on buses for years before I came on MN and discovered I was a SLATTERN.

I'm also apparently weird as I am able to poo in locations other than my own toilet and don't have to hold it in for days when I go on holiday.

Clarabumps · 07/03/2014 22:29

people eating a sausage roll on a train. NOW that's offensive.

scottishmummy · 07/03/2014 22:31

It does smell it does invade privacy the gurning, the eye tugging,it's intrusive

NuggetofPurestGreen · 07/03/2014 22:31

My sister was very upset recently at someone eating an egg sandwich while sitting next to her first thing in the morning Grin

NuggetofPurestGreen · 07/03/2014 22:32

Someone else gurning or tugging their eyes is not intrusive! Or invading privacy! If they were tugging on your eyes maybe...

Clarabumps · 07/03/2014 22:32

Glad to be of service Nuggeto.
You poo somewhere other than your own throne?WHAT? You mean your bowel isn't trained to know when it's your own pan you're sitting on? gasp
I've never heard anything so disgusting.
Bleach for you dear. BLEACH!!
sprinkles it all over keyboard just to be safe

Clarabumps · 07/03/2014 22:33

Your make up must be quite old dear if it smells. I'd suggest throwing it away. You could give yourself a nasty eye infection with a dodgy mascara.
