thanks

to sum up it's a right old stitch up. should we all vote with our feet and not buy anymore. and say bye to Johnny

NorthernLurker · 19/02/2014 21:53

Ah I see. Still sounds bloody dodgy!

AmazingDisgrace · 19/02/2014 22:13

My green wool skater skirt arrived today and is lovely! It says dry clean only (I guess dye to wool content?) Do you think it would be ok on the wool cycle in the washing machine?

AmazingDisgrace · 19/02/2014 22:14

due not dye

alemci · 19/02/2014 22:21

maybe hand wash or dry clean the first time

PartTimePunk · 20/02/2014 08:47

I emailed them about the original leopard boots bring available yesterday at a hugely increased price. I got a PFO response and was reminded that I had received a tenner in account credit. Shoddy retail practice. I think they should have honoured the sale price for those who had their order cancelled. I won't be ordering from them again.

bunnymother · 20/02/2014 08:50

Reading my post back re the leopard boots, I sound so whiney about missing out on them. I hope those who did get them absolutely love wearing them. I might be very envious, but no need to whine.

SnowBells · 20/02/2014 09:20

Just got all my three parcels full of Boden orders.

I am actually quite impressed…

… because NOTHING is going back!!!

SerendipityAlways · 20/02/2014 11:06

Cashmere stripey jumper arrived today - its lovely, so, so soft, I love it! Also a gorgeous textured jumper for my DD from Johnnie B - a bargainous £5.60!!

HelloBoys · 20/02/2014 11:13

I think Boden are being sly re the original leopard boots and the new style ones.

whatever the case I think the original cancelled orders should be honoured and £10 credit and a shoddy email doesn't endear customers to Boden.

Boden would do well in this case to do as Hush do (etc) re stock levels when ordering and maybe compensate their customers a bit more.

bunny in this case you are entitled to whine! If you were eg in USA where customer service is king they would not stand for this!

Ladyflip · 20/02/2014 12:09

Bunnymother, my leopard boots arrived Monday. I have worn them every day since and I absolutely LOVE them. Not sure this will make you feel better, but wanted to reassure you. Oh, and they are really comfortable too.

starfleet · 20/02/2014 12:31

I've been lurking on this thread since Friday!

I placed 4 orders (I kept going back and adding more stuff). 2 of my orders were cancelled (cashmere jumpers and leopard boots) and 3 items from my other orders were also cancelled.

I looked on the website yesterday and saw the coat that I'd ordered had come back into stock but at 90 rather than the 29 it had been on Friday - I rang customer services and explained that I wasn't happy blah blah blah and the lady said they'd had a return and she'd put it through at the 29 less postage and less the 10 credit good old Johnny had offered and I ended up paying 19 for it and I've just had an email saying it's on its way. She did give me the whole 'we had a huge glitch on the website that day and there were problems with stock control etc etc' speech though.

SerendipityAlways · 20/02/2014 12:49

Nice one Starfleet!!

Apatite1 · 20/02/2014 12:56

My last item was dispatched today so I got all six of the items I ordered. Seems totally random on who actually got anything! I ordered late on Friday night.

Sleepyfergus · 20/02/2014 13:42

I'm a bit late to this conversation, so haven't read the whole thread. I bought some stuff in the sale at massively discounted prices. Order confirmed yada yada yada. then get an email to say 3 of the items not available, apparently a glitch in the system. Then a further email saying I've been given a £5 credit for the hassle.

But what gets me is that the sale prices have suddenly jumped up. A cashmere jumper that was £18 is now back up to £100. Can they do that? I suppose they can, but it feels a bit off.

I've never seen a Boden sale quite like it though, 80% off strikes me as a bit desperate. Are they in trouble? they must have loads of stock they were unable to shift.

The jumper and slim fit trousers I ordered aren't nice though, they're going back

bunnymother · 20/02/2014 14:06

"Bunnymother, my leopard boots arrived Monday. I have worn them every day since and I absolutely LOVE them. Not sure this will make you feel better, but wanted to reassure you. Oh, and they are really comfortable too." [begins melodramatic wailing. Not sure if it's because it's mid term and it's raining or because I wanted the boots. Or both]

IamInvisible · 20/02/2014 14:06

I received the two things I ordered, that they still had in stock, yesterday. The shoes are fine, nothing special but ok for everyday and the jumper will go with a few things.

I did question how they worked through the orders when I phoned the other day, because it isn't fair that people who ordered after other people received their items when those who ordered early didn't. The man on the phone said it depended on how long it took to find things in the warehouse!Hmm IMO that is absolute bollox and it was just pot luck and they had no system.

They sent me a scarf as a goodwill gesture for messing up and gave me £10 credit, but I don't feel like shopping with them again tbh.

alemci · 20/02/2014 20:43

yes it's crazy. I ordered my boots Friday morning.

Just seen some on ebay at £50. hope no one buys them.

capet · 20/02/2014 20:43

So 1 of my 2 orders arrived. Cheered me up in my current sleep deprived state.
Stripey cashmere, jewelled jumper, cashmere waffle cardigan and Barcelona cardigan. Got the Barcelona cardigan in gladioli which I wasn't sure about but it's actually really nice in real life.
Also got embellished ballerinas in hold which will be great for summer.
And got Montpelier top in navy spot and Emma jersey tip- nice for under a tenner each.
Not sure I'd pay full whack for any of it, but happy with it all.

Waiting for three dresses to arrive now.
Wish I had ordered the Libby dress, saw pic of it on someone earlier and it looked lovely. Pretty sure there was 80 percent off it too.
Oh well, I've probably got enough anyway!

caninamechange · 20/02/2014 21:15

I have three Emma tops now - all sale purchases. They are very useful and versatile. Don't really need ironing either :)

Lighthousekeeping · 20/02/2014 21:29

My £9 jeans have shot up to £44.50! Shock

SnowBells · 20/02/2014 22:38

Some of mine have shot up, too!!! How does this happen? I thought they were "Clearance" products, so surely, prices should stay low until they're gone?!?

Sleepyfergus · 20/02/2014 23:11

Well that's what I wondered, I thought 'clearance' insinuated that the price would stay that way (or go even lower) to clear the stock.

SnowBells · 20/02/2014 23:18

Sleepyfergus I guess their definition of "Clearance" is actually, really, a "Flash Sale".

Apatite1 · 20/02/2014 23:59

I got all my stuff, though should have sized down, it's not worth bothering with an exchange. Happy!
