Forget that, I just reset the password. I've got 372 points which is £3... shop how on earth did you manage to save so much?! You must be AR's best customer Grin

Dry glad you're ok. I think van drivers probably care the least about bumps and scratches, at least it wasn't a nice new car. They probably won't even notice!

shopafrolic · 13/02/2014 19:13

I had 962 Blair - the bag was £30, £15 off and then my points took it to £4.60 so about £10 in points. I was trying to remember what I've bought from them. My Maison Scotch coat was a biggy I guess.....

LinusDKD · 13/02/2014 19:19

No AR e-mail for me shop and no My W e-mail either.

Pink boots for me mig

liberty I love those Valencia wedges remembers that I have old two pairs of espadrille wedges that I might revive this summer

Oh no dry! Hope you can forget about your prang during dinner with DH.

Fedupnagging · 13/02/2014 19:31

Wow, 24hrs after ordering, my Gigi's landed on my door mat! They are every bit as lovely as I had hoped. Blair if you have wide feet like me, definitely go up half a size.

Umlauf I love the 2nd dress. Not keen on the first, sorry.

Dry, hope you are ok after your prang and enjoy your evening out with dh.

Am also off out wearing my lovely new jeans and boots and l/s grey tee andthis which I love. (Bought from my friends shop) oh and my fave turquoise felt trilby as it is sooo cold. Can't find a picture for the hat though as its handmade.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 13/02/2014 19:32

The code worked for me, thanks again Umlauf :) I thought it was going to be 15% so that was nice.

I used all my points as well and got this for £10.28 plus shipping. Now I can pretend my holiday isn't still 3 months away!

can you link the bag shop? Neon orange sounds nice!

Umlauf · 13/02/2014 20:04

liberty I love the Boden zebra ones. Tell me all about the American vintage dress!!

blair pleased it worked for you! shops bag is gorgeous, but sold out so no longer on the site I think? Its the saddle bag. I like the jumpsuit, I wish I could wear hot pink!

LinusDKD · 13/02/2014 20:05

All this talk about bargains at AR made me forget overlook the mess they made of DMIL Christmas present so I had another look at their website.

I found a lovely pair of jeans in my size, added it to my bag and was then informed at checkout that 'the quantity of X is not available'. Hmm

Was also tempted by a cashmere jumper but the description of the colours was completely different from the pictures so (keeping DMIL scarf debacle in mind) I didn't buy it.

Not impressed!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 13/02/2014 20:21

Ah I know the saddle bag, nice! Will need to see the hot pink tbh, if it's a really bluey magenta then it won't work for me, needs to be more of a flowery pink. Hopefully Linus's colour description issue might work in my favour?!

Thanks fedup, so what US size did you go for in the end? Gorgeous scarf and love the sound of the hat :) Have fun!

libertychick · 13/02/2014 20:53

Umlauf I do love the AV dress. Grumpy has it too. What size did you go for? AR list the sizes as 8,10,12 but the dress is labeled S,M,L. I ordered the 12 first which is my usual size in dresses but it was a bit big so I got the 10/M instead which is a better fit.

I'm off to check if I got the email and if I have any point

I have just had the most mortifying experience.

On train. Reading the swingers thread. Sniggering to self. As I get up to leave I accidentally nudge bloke next to me. I apologise. He looks right in my eyes and says oh don't you worry at all. Then flicks to my ipad then smiles at me.BlushBlushBlush he probably thinks I am a bloody swinger.BlushShock

OneLittleLady · 13/02/2014 21:14

Oh Novice, that's why I only read MN indoors in the safety of my 'girlcave' he shouldn't have been reading over your shoulder anyway the cheeky sod!

LinusDKD · 13/02/2014 21:15

Haha novice! Busted!

santamarianovella · 13/02/2014 21:22

umlauf I like both dresses, but I agree the second one looks more versatile,
And concerning lack of links,I think its that we are inbetween seasons, not to mention the terrible weather, everyone I know is grumpy and miserable all the time.

I wanted these chanel espadrilles since I saw them last spring, and was hesitant, and bought mcqueen flats instead, but i still lusted after them and was enveious whenever i saw anyone wearing them, anyway they were a huge success ,so they did them again this year,so I thought I might get one,but unfortunately I was not quick enough as there was a long wait list and they sold out in every boutique and concession, not to mention i bought the crisi marant boots, because lets face it they are more practical ,but im still obsessed about them.
so I found a much cheaper options here here still not like the ones I want, but pretty much close,so should i? i never like second best, but they are one of those things that just stick with you and you obsess about it!

sorry I sound shallow! Blush

santamarianovella · 13/02/2014 21:25

*envious Blush

novice Grin

LinusDKD · 13/02/2014 21:31

santa I can have a look in town for you. Wink

Or can your DH look where his office is located?

I do like your second option as well.

justasecond · 13/02/2014 21:46

Evening all!
I love those espadrilles Santa I saw them last year too and thought they were amazing. I fear they would be way out of my budget though. I managed to get a pair of the Stuart Weitzman Tipadrilles in the Russell and Bromley sale for 29 they are so comfy can't wait to wear them. I like the shopbop ones but you know if you get them you will still get the chanel ones eventually Grin
Novice thats really funny. That thread really is a revelation.
Blair that jumpsuit is a real bargain!! I got an AR voucher too, not sure what to spend it on, has to be something cheap as I am saving my pennies for laser eye surgery. I am blind as a bat so it will be v expensive. I am dreading it but looks like my eyes can't take much more lens wearing. I keep thinking about which handbags I could buy with the money!
Will be back when I have caught up more than the current page.

Drywhiteplease · 13/02/2014 21:54

Ohmy god!! Incredible news!!!! Dinner with DH and diamonds!!!! I could cry. In fact I did. Need to get home and tell all.

Annianni · 13/02/2014 22:05

Dry
Fantastic!!!

libertychick · 13/02/2014 22:05

Oh Dry sounds amazing - can't wait to hear the story

BrandyAlexander · 13/02/2014 22:22

Oooh fab, can't wait to hear!

One, yes lesson learned there!!!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 13/02/2014 22:23

Dry whaaaaat?!

novice lol! he shouldn't have been so nosy!

justa you are brave, I have crap eyesight too but am resigned to wearing lenses as don't think I could go through with the operation. It will be worth it (despite costing several handbags!) so good for you!

santa I like the chanel ones too. Not to be an enabler but I think you should only get the cheaper ones if you really can't find the Chanel Wink

santamarianovella · 13/02/2014 22:37

Oh! linus !you should be declared the patron saint of MNV! Along with the title of personal shopper extraordinaire, but I must try them on first incase they look odd, I tried these, and I looked ridiculous, like I was wearing clowns shoes, they looked really long!

I think I don't suit trendy trainers, I tried the marant bobby ones and I think I look bad,I took a picture while I was trying them, will try to post it on here tomorrow.
justa can you link yours?
I had laser eye surgery years ago, best thing I ever did!

blair I don't think I can buy anything else this month as I bought the marant boots, and I'm "trying" to save for a dress, and a few spring pieces I have in mind.

dry how exciting! Have been refreshing the page every few minutes!

BecauseIsaidS0 · 13/02/2014 22:38

justa, i had lasik eye surgery 12 years ago. Best thing I ever did. I've now lost some eyesight again but the optician said not to worry about glasses unless I drive, which I don't at the moment.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 13/02/2014 22:43

Don't do this to me Dry! I've been gone a couple of days (trying to avoid links) and now I have to wait for your tale?!

Bot going to go into too much detail, but I have fallen off the dry Feb wagon. I've been unfaithful with the Kate Spade tweed bag (but so good for racing), a woolly hat (practical purchase - doesn't count) and some of the leopard ponyskin skater shoes as seen on 40 bum. I've wanted a pair since I saw the Gap ones, which had disappeared by the time I went to get them and all others I've seen since were £££, so I couldn't let these get away too.

I did see in You Mag on Sunday a preview of some designers fave pieces for SS14 and was especially taken with a Baukjen black jumpsuit which is available from March (10th, I think), so nothing more from me this month, honest Guv.

Nothing romantic planned here tomorrow - DH had an idea that we could have a candlelit family dinner of fish and chips and champagne with red roses on the table etc for DD2's benefit (she's madly into all holidays). I think that will be nice. I've bought DH a gift of some Oakley Aviators he loves and I got them for a bargainous price too (result). He's been expensive lately as it's his birthday in 2 weeks too. In addition to his Paul Smith tie I've also got him a Victorinox rolling cabin case. He has a lovely leather holdall I bought him for Christmas a few years ago, but it doesn't really hold more than 2 days-worth of stuff (he has more clothes than me), so I'm sure he'll get plenty of use from this.

Phew! Apologies for the mega post.

Mignonette · 13/02/2014 22:50

Santa those are dreamy- can see myself clodhopping wafting about in those and a faded favourrite sundress and hair scrunched up....Summer I need you.

Am listening to Mazzy Star 'Fade Into You' - such a beautiful song here.

Have had a difficult evening- had long talk with my Brother about the cruel way our Father has treated us and he told me a lot of nasty stuff Father had said about his Grandchildren (our children) and I want to slap him but I can't because he is dead. Painful. Anyway cheer up Mig.

Umlauf I love that Palm Beach vibe of the navy dress- like a sharpand modern Lily Pullitzer (who I used to adore and still secretly do) with tropical sultry colours and big vibrant prints.

The ad campaigns of Lily Pullitzer in the late 60's and 70's were amazing- women with beehives slightly trashed like they'd had one too many fruit filled Mai Tai's, lying by the pools with pink cabanas and cabana boys. The children were all dressed in mini me versions of Mother's terry cloth mini beach dress with pink pompom trimmed hems. Frosted lipstick and thick lashes that you just knew would slide off with the heat. I so coveted a pair of her terrycloth beach shorts in lime when I was eight- all the women in Acapulco used to wear them (I went there several times a year for a holiday as lived in the North of the country) with little shell tops with actual shell prints on them in every bright ice cream and acid pastel shade you could imagine.

Sorry - reverie over.

Novice that is very funny. Our local forests are now no go areas in the hour near dusk because of Doggers. We once took an actual real dog for a quick leg stretch en route to somewhere and left my daughter in the car as she didn't want to tramp through bracken in Winter.

She was 17. Upon our return the car park was filled with cars with one or two people in them doing nothing. Just waiting for night to fall. I realised with abject horror that I had left my daughter there in a car alone. Only for 15 minutes but my God. Shock. Grim. I am sick of it.

Justa I want eye surgery. I am severely Myopic with prisms and now developing Presbyopia too. I'll be interested to hear of your experiences.

Dry I am waiting with breath baited.,
