I loved Addle's skirt. The thought of wearing that might inspire me to lose weight...

Of course we missed you, Rudy!

motherinferior · 18/01/2014 12:19

I had a terrific time which would only have been improved if we'd all been there Grin

Great night crepeys! I too loved Addles skirt. And of course we missed your cleavage you Rudy. And Beachy and Hatty!

I have just done a Sports Direct run with DS who needed new astro's - size 11Shock I am praying that his feet will stop growing soon.

CointreauVersial · 18/01/2014 14:44

I didn't have a good night, Crepeys; at about midnight I had a horrible stomach pain, followed by a huge allergic reaction to something. Throat, mouth and face swelled up, wheezing, nose pouring - I honestly thought DH might have to call an ambulance at one point. Eventually I was sick, and everything calmed down, but I still look as I have been punched in the face and have a swollen throat.

I do have a very slight allergy to a couple of foods (raw hazelnuts, figs, peaches) but never that severe, and normally the reaction occurs within seconds of the offending item reaching my mouth. Weird why it was so delayed....... All I can think of are the two mussels I ate, but then everyone had the same.

hattymattie · 18/01/2014 14:46

Glad you had fun ladies. The style items sound fab. I was another on the sofa with Silent Witness.Smile

hattymattie · 18/01/2014 14:47

CV Shock.

herbaceous · 18/01/2014 15:06

Criminy CV. You were feeling a bit ropey when you left - maybe it was the start of the strangeness.

I still feel a bit crap, but I was well enough this morning to pop to the pet shop and collect the DDs' Christmas present - two cuuuute little Russian Dwarf hammies. They are just gorgeous. No nips or escapes yet.

bigTillyMint · 18/01/2014 15:18

CV, so sorry to hear that. I agree with Rudy, get checked asap. DMIL has been having allergic reactions and now has an epi-pen, etc!

Blackduck · 18/01/2014 17:04

Oh CV (nice to meet you BTW) that's crap.... Hope you are better soon!

Anyone see (and remember) the story of lost strawberry in the Guardian today?

QQ & MrsS - cranium is the name of the game I was rabbiting on about last night.

lalsy · 18/01/2014 17:22

CV, that sounds horrible. Really strange it was delayed too (I am from an allergic family and food ones are usually so fast). I don't have food allergies but have had a run of much worse reactions than normal to cats and earlier this week to something in my house - but I don't know what it was. Carry AHs with you, to pop at first sign in meantime?

Stropperella · 18/01/2014 17:36

CV, that's a rubbish end to the evening - I hope you find out what caused it so you can avoid a repeat occurrence. Glad to hear the hamsters are bringing joy already, though. :) As Auriga mentioned, ours has turned out much more entertaining than I thought he would be. Grin

A big thank you to BTM for organising things and for having me to stay. I had a lovely time. It was great meeting everyone again (and Lalsy for the first time). Sorry to miss having a proper chat with wilbur. Next meetup...

Am very happy to report that dh and the dcs have been absolutely fine: no arguments, various jobs done, all animals looked after appropriately. Most successful trip away yet! Yay!

bigTillyMint · 18/01/2014 18:30

Stropps, that's great - you will have to do it more oftenWink!

motherinferior · 18/01/2014 19:03

Agree with getting it checked out!

wilbur, I did snort at your description of your ds2's sleeping habits. Grin And also the idea of the lickle newborn sleeping soundly under the desk. Grin

Today, aside from once more making himself comfortable human-stylee in various beds, our dog has been spotted taking biscuits from his bowl, sitting on a chair and then eating said biscuits off the dining table. If I suddenly start posting about rabbits, you can safely assume he has got hold of my phone.

QueenQueenie · 18/01/2014 23:06

You poor thing CV, how scary for you. Do you think it was the mussel? Whenever I've ben poisoned in the past I usually have a sense of what it was that did for me, a complete shuddering aversion to the very idea of that food.. I did think the mussel I had was a bit chewy and too strong a taste. I left it after one bite. Hmmmm. Really hope you feel better and that you can find out more about what happened / how to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Addle, I hope you won't mind but I've ordered myself your fab skirt online this evening... £7.00 (seven! VII!) and also got tempted into this, which may or may not be nice in rl stripy lurex! for £20 (twenty, XX).

Good weekends everyone. Really enjoyed talking about films with some of you and am off to see "Wolf of Wall Street" tomorrow. Forgot to say "nice coat" to you Auriga and wanted to say again, "nice haircut Stropps".

CointreauVersial · 18/01/2014 23:32

I've been poring over the Tas menu, and I suspect there may have been hazelnuts somewhere, which is something I know I have reacted to in the past. Just very odd that it wasn't immediate, although a bit of Web research reveals that it can occur up to a few hours afterwards. I guess if depends when your digestive system gets to the offending substance.

But it was scary, I have to say. The worst reaction I've ever had, by some margin, and I really was panicking. My eyes are still all puffy.

I will go to the doctor, although I'm not sure an allergy test is necessary. But I would like to arm myself with something in case it happens again. I need to start examining menus a little closer too!

Stropperella · 18/01/2014 23:36

Ok, the dog actually did sit on my phone and managed to repost twice something of mine from last week. I don't believe that happened.. Hmm

QueenQueenie · 18/01/2014 23:37

I thought I was having a deja vu moment!

Stropperella · 18/01/2014 23:38

I'd get tested CV. The tests are really not that big a deal, but having a confirmed allergy is. Then you can get an Epipen.

Stropperella · 18/01/2014 23:40

QQ, I had both dog and phone on my lap, but I didn't realise there was any interaction going on. Grin

Auriga · 18/01/2014 23:45

CV you did mention feeling off at the table when I was still sitting on your left. Could that have been the start of it? Hope you feel better by now and that you manage to pinpoint the problem.

Stropps, you did predict that dog would do exactly that.
