Is having a Filofax twattish?

I start a new job on Monday and really want a lovely stylish new diary for Christmas but can't quite find the right one. Can't afford smythson so don't even think about it!

OP posts:
amothersplaceisinthewrong · 18/11/2013 18:49

Not twattish, but a bit behind the times. My life is on my Samsung Galaxy S4!

PoshPaula · 18/11/2013 19:50

lilliput the ultimate lunch receptacle is the Lakeland Banana Holder, I think you'll find. Twattish? Oh yes. I have one.

boodles · 18/11/2013 21:16

I love my filofax and couldn't give three craps in hell what other people may think of me because of it.

GetYourSocksOff · 18/11/2013 21:17

Oh god.

I don't take a packed lunch but have started picnicking. With a thermos. And an (apparently shared) obsessive searching for the perfect pack-up kit.

And.....

whispers

I was so overexcited at the mention of the Lakeland banana carrier that the student I was talking to brought one for me to her next lesson. It has it's own mini fork inside. It's fucking genius.

I can still be cool with my filofax though, right? It's purple.

PoshPaula · 19/11/2013 09:34

getyoursocksoff being purple makes it even more twattish!! Mine is burgundy. The ultimate twat colour. I like to place it next to my Lakeland banana carrier on my desk. Very close to my coaster with a picture of two Labrador puppies on it.

MysterySpots · 19/11/2013 09:48

How could they be twattish? I have a beautiful Gharani Strok one and I will use it forever. I like to write in a calendar - I plan better that way.
I also have an iPhone for email, internet and (gasp) phone calls.
Whatever works. People's brains work in different ways, but some people are just snide and nasty.

dexter73 · 19/11/2013 10:13

Not one person on this thread has said that they are twattish, apart from the people that actually own them! The worst thing that has been said about them is that they are out of date so hardly snide and nasty!

PoshPaula · 19/11/2013 11:32

You're absolutely right. I don't mind being categorised as a blousy, older social worker type because of the 'paper diary' I use. I'm fine with that!

NewChoos · 19/11/2013 12:06

I use one too, I am very much a paper/lists type though!

dexter73 · 19/11/2013 12:11

I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic or not PoshPaula?

PoshPaula · 19/11/2013 12:31

I'm just joking, no offence meant. I think it's amusing what some people laugh at - I don't care what kind of diary a person uses. I find it bizarre that someone would look at my paper diary and associate me with a 'type' of person.

Bradsplit · 19/11/2013 16:01

i love that blousy is the new mumsy

yeah!

dexter73 · 19/11/2013 17:10

None taken Paula! I was just getting confused. It would have helped if I had read the thread properly - I thought you were describing yourself as a blousy social worker (and thought that was a bit odd!) and hadn't read the earlier post saying that SW used paper diaries!

dexter73 · 19/11/2013 17:14

Actually just looked up a definition of blousy as I didn't know what it meant and I got this:

  1. adj. Describing a woman with large breasts due to the prominence of her full blouse.
  2. Top notch dame whose got it all...gorgeous, sexy, smart and can get pretty expensive when asked out on a date.

Doesn't sound like a social worker to me!

GetYourSocksOff · 19/11/2013 18:32

Love that you looked up blousy Grin

Can we do twattish next?

GetYourSocksOff · 19/11/2013 18:35

(Sorry OP!)

YoniTime · 19/11/2013 18:38

I didn't know that it was twattish to use paper. I also didn't know that there are phonesnobs who think everyone else should use their phones for everything. I'm young-ish and like paper - it's nice to not stare at a screen all the time.

scottishmummy · 19/11/2013 18:40

I love Filofax so useful

dexter73 · 19/11/2013 18:44

I had never heard the term blousy but I know what twattish means! Had to look up catfish today as well, not for the fish definition but for the identity fraud definition after hearing that someone had been catfished.

Perspective21 · 19/11/2013 18:54

Love this thread! They all sound fab... I have an iPhone 5 but run the family with the aid of beautiful moleskin type diaries from Paperchase and a Dodo pad in the kitchen; which hangs up in the old fashioned way for all children to do the admin in their own columns! We could all chip in to an app diary but I sort of like to see the visual representation of our school weeks on the calendar.

I am, by profession, a librarian and probably mummsy and blousy but awfully organised. Calendar geek and proud!

Perspective21 · 19/11/2013 18:56

I find that the very act of writing things down (with a lovely pencil) really helps me remember. I am a visual learner!

PoshPaula · 19/11/2013 19:18

I don't have large breasts and am quite a cheap date. Thank goodness I've got a Filofax so I can still be blousy. (I'm not a social worker either).

How about the mugs that keep drinks hot and have a lid, that you can take from staff room to hut? Great! Properly twattish!

SantiagoToots · 19/11/2013 19:38

  1. Filofax - check!
  2. Big breasts - check!
  3. Insulated mug with a lid - check!

Do I win a day out with the National Trust? Grin

PoshPaula · 19/11/2013 19:42

santiago..... Not so fast. Where's your Lakeland banana holder?

SantiagoToots · 19/11/2013 19:47

I'm afraid I've no experience with Lakeland. Is it anything like the Innovations catalogue?
