Dry you've just made me cry! :o

QueenCadbury · 21/11/2013 16:08

We've been really 'lucky' with the whole house thing as without inheritance money we would never have afforded such a big house in our area. Also we made lots of money on our London house prior to moving to bristol.

But drys right, you don't need much for a third child unless you think you're done and get rid of all the baby stuff like we had. We did need a bigger car though to fit all the car seats in. The big thing that will financially cripple us is if we have to pay for private secondary education.

Wore my cobalt blue turtleneck out to lunch today with dh. I was sweltering Grin

foxysocks · 21/11/2013 16:16

I don't have any tiffany either. jewellery isn't really my thing. I love my wedding and engagement rings, and my dad bought me some long sparkly earrings to wear on my wedding day which are my only pair. I then have the rose gold MK watch and about three bracelets that I rotate. i don't own any necklaces at all.

having wibbles over the colour of pash. wondering whether the navy is better, but i prefer the gunmetal hardware to the gold and it's waaaaaay more expensive than I paid. like, twice the price. have pinned mine plus a navy to my considering board to see them together. does anyone have an opinion?

Drywhiteplease · 21/11/2013 16:38

Anni seem to be making people cry recently, I used to make people laugh Hmm , so sorry, normal service will be resumed.

Ahem Santa what are the "in" colours for living rooms these days?

OP posts:
Annianni · 21/11/2013 18:19

It was in a nice way Dry, honestly! :o

Turquoiseblue · 21/11/2013 18:46

Ah Anni, you really do sound broody. Maybe as QC says exploring your options with the consultant will help clarify things for you.
Or maybe you should borrow a 6 month old with teething and upset tummy for a few nights :)!
We have 2, I m 35, another would be lovely, but we need to get our house sorted and it s gonna cost a lot. Plus we will have private second level to pay for, and whatever third level they decide on, we re both undecided.
Ruby* thanks for the tip off on the skirt.
Carrie - I ll help you shop :)
Foxy - I like gold hardware but hate when the gold fades a bit as most hardware seems to be plated (or maybe I only buy the cheap stuff).
I m not a Tiffany girl either, just has never appealed to me, I do have some lovely lovely pieces though that I really adore, as I think of them they are all sort of one off or from smaller independent jewellers and a bit different, not all of them are bringing or worth lots but most of them have some sentimental value.

LinusDKD · 21/11/2013 18:56

Evening!

Phew, recovering from a playdate at our house. 5 children under the age of five! Shock

amber soooo Envy about the pashli, even though I am lusting after the mini.

If foxy keeps her medium (btw, I like the navy but love the cobalt with gunmetal fastenings) I don't have a choice, I will have to get the mini to make it a perfect MNV Pashli trio.

I have about 8 Tiffany items as DH went through a phase of getting most of my jewelry there. I do love them and wear them a lot but I have been trying to steer him more towards brands like Pommellato because, even though I dress quite classicaly, I do like quirky accessories and jewelry.

I finally got the J Crew catalogue with the man with the coat on his head!

shop how is your back today?

carrie yay a winter. I think I am one as well but have never been 'diagnosed'. I agree, wait for the sales and then go mad!

anni babies, it is such an emotive subject. DH and I really need to have a proper chat about a possible third child but he is a definite 'no' at the moment and my feelings are torn on the subject.

santa if dry can ask you about living room colours, can I ask you about living room lighting.

We have just bought some lighting for our dining area (open plan next to living area) which we absolutely love, but now our living room lighting needs sorting out and I have no clue.

LinusDKD · 21/11/2013 19:35

novice is this the MaxMara coat you have been lusting after?

They seem to have a size 6 and 8 which is what you were after, no?

shopafrolic · 21/11/2013 20:24

linus he's hot isn't he? back is very sore - a better physio session today. They clarified it's not a problem with my disc which I'm relieved about. Some more exercises and back again next week. I'm drinking through it.
Anni I've been thinking about you loads today (not least because there's 5% of me that still wonders about my choice). I cuddled my friend's newborn today, absolutely gorgeous and I did have a little moment, but then he vomited on me and did the 5pm crying session! Hope you find your answers soon. Big hugs again.
Dry always makes me cry in a good way. And laugh lots too. I may have to travel up north for a scarf tutorial at this rate. Perhaps we could FaceTime? Grin
DH flew off today, back late tomorrow. Pre DC I saw this as a fab opportunity for crap telly and my favourite food. I don't like being on my own so much anymore. Don't think I'll get away with a Pashli purchase for one night alone somehow,

shopafrolic · 21/11/2013 20:36

Does anyone fancy a MNV MU with an overnight stay? Once the shooting season is over I fancy a pass for a trip away. Maybe Birmingham or Manchester? Anyone up for it?

Drywhiteplease · 21/11/2013 20:58

Shop have fiddled again with scarf and put a pic of my mother of a "tie" you'd like better, more like Miss Pouty .
Over night MU? Bloody marvellous idea, could be dangerous Grin....

Massimo Dutti camel coat should be arriving any day Grin

santamarianovella · 21/11/2013 21:53

foxy I think both colors are nice, the cobalt is more vibrant, but I think the navy will get more use.

I hope I didn't insult anyone with the red and gold combo Blush, its a beautiful combination, and can be done nicely, but in our case I found the whole scheme so off putting,it was obviously done in the 80s .very French empire style.with lots of gilded furniture and bronze statues. So it had to go.

dry its a matter of personal taste, there can never be "in" or "out" of style Colours, it all depends on the size of the room, does it have sufficient natural light, the flooring, the type and style of furniture you prefer.
You can work with very bland and safe colors if you can incorporate different materials and textures, you can also use strong and vibrant colors in a room with period features, there can never be a wrong combination, its just a matter of finding a good balance, and working with what you have.

linus is it a big room? If you can put it on MNv I can have a quick look.

libertychick · 21/11/2013 21:55

Fingers crossed for you novice!

Shop lovely idea but I have never spent a night away from DD - planning a couple of overnights in Dublin in New Year which will be first time not waking up with her so not sure I can commit to anything else till I see how that goes - sorry. I realise I sound a bit precious!!!

Anni hugs for you - hope you are ok.
