Evening!

I am catching up on Strictly wearing my red stripey Marimekko nightie in the blotus position.

DPIL have left and the DC had so much fun and I ate way too much (actually looking forward to a fast day tomorrow)

My Christmas tree decorations are a mix of Scandi/Chalet style in red, white and wood.

dry good to hear the Zara scarf is nice IRL. Such a shame the colours probably won't suit me.

foxy yay, you can nearly start enjoying your kitchen again!

OneLittleLady · 17/11/2013 19:31

Love that necklace dry shame about the price though

LinusDKD · 17/11/2013 19:32

marsha I might be too late but for your lunch this dress might be nice:

dress

It is strapless but I like the way they styled it here with the thin jumper.

Annianni · 17/11/2013 19:33

Love that necklace Dry.

Have pinned a cream cable knit for you Marsha.

QueenCadbury · 17/11/2013 20:05

Helloooo! Had a fab night last night. Took hours to get home though as went via my parents. A man on a bridge had part of the m42 shut and then part of the m5 was shut.

I have a confession to make....I'm a bit of a bah humbug about Christmas Shock. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy it but I'm not sure I love it as much as you guys Grin. Our tree is about 6ft and I get it from our local greengrocers. The kids then have a plastic one in the play room that they decorate as I won't let them near mine!
marsha I ordered a turkey one year from the butchers but the 2 hour queue in the cold to collect it has made sure I never do that again. Now I always order from waitrose. You get time slots to collect it and at least it's warm inside. And they normally offer you chocolates whilst waiting Grin.

Drywhiteplease · 17/11/2013 20:07

Another thing I sawthis was fab too

Waves to QueenC
We order our turkey from the butchers, the queue is a bit of a tradition on Christmas Eve. The owner dishes out sloe gin and champagne. I'm usually pissed by the time I carry the damn thing home! Grin
Amber I'm loving your present pins.

shopafrolic · 17/11/2013 20:10

That's fab Dry

Drywhiteplease · 17/11/2013 20:11

this dress was great too
shop we used to go to the butchers with our neighbours family with our wheel barrows and would race home !the kids still talk about that!

Annianni · 17/11/2013 20:16

My question for the night.....
Are brands like Jaeger producing younger, more trend led clothes now or do I just like them more because I'm an old git?
I can't figure it out..... Does anyone know what I mean?

Drywhiteplease · 17/11/2013 20:36

Hmmmmmmm..........well, Shop I think it's a bit of both.
Jaeger has always had some more trend led collections (Jaeger London, Boutique) and over the years the occasional concession (3rd floor Regent St had quite a few interesting other designer pieces ). Think they've always struggled with their image sadly because the product is great quality and indestructible.
I think as you get older, and perhaps more affluent, you look around a bit more and realise that brands you would not have considered before have some great stuff.

Has anyone seen the l'wren Scott for banana republic in Style? I need that red sequinned cardi in my life.

shop certainly when we were younger, jaegar seemed very fuddy duddy and mainly full of office type clothes. Still can't afford most of it but I do like to look at it all now.

shopafrolic · 17/11/2013 21:40

I missed Style this week QueenC

QueenCadbury · 17/11/2013 21:54

shopafrolic · 17/11/2013 22:06

You'd look fab in that Queenc

shopafrolic · 17/11/2013 22:08

Just had to tell DH off, he wanted to take my copy of Harpers to the toilet with him while he had a you know what. Shock
Some things should NEVER happen. To make matters worse, I still haven't read it myself yet so he stands no chance of christening it on the toilet! bloody men - how dare he?

AmberNectarine · 17/11/2013 22:09

I frigging LOVE Christmas. Have an elf on the shelf, kids have 2 advent calendars each (one choc, one playmobil), tree goes up Dec 1, do Xmas eve hamper etc. Am planning lots of fun activities for us to do on my days off work and we are going to see Santa at Peppa Pig World too.

They're really starting to 'get' it this year and I am so excited! My birthday is 19 Dec and I used to get so wound up as a child I had a rash throughout December, but I just remember it as such a magical time. DH and I now have a tradition of going to Winter Wonderland on my birthday to skate and drink mulled wine and then to Harvey Nics so I can buy something lovely. I just love, love, love it all!

Thank shop, I like to give DH a few 'pointers', ahem.

Have been browsing Pashli pins/blogs and am now uber excited to receive it. Santa, if I keep the Pashli I will probably get another bag as well as it was such a bargain (hard life).

Drywhiteplease · 17/11/2013 22:17

Ok I'll admit now that I planned my dcs to be born around Christmas because it's such a great time of year stupid stupid idea in retrospect DH and I are both sagitarians, so is DD and a capricorn(DS was 2 weeks late). Dd shares your birthday Amber, it was the best Christmas ever. Came home on 23rd, my parents and DH had "done Christmas" and my 2 sisters came to stay too.....they all took over while I just cuddled my baby . Fantastic! Smile it's a very exciting time in our house.
