Hi Springs.
New thread, hopefully, with the following link to our old one....

Early Spring

Those look lovely, MrsP
Did you get the navy? Are they comfy?
There's a Next on a retail park not too far away, I'll go & have a try on as I'm not sure of size now, think my feet might have shrunk to my original size.

Hi Springs.
Glad to hear your walking around a bit better Aque - I bet your shoe shopping list is growing by the day! I'm liking those sporty ballerinas MrsP - so wish I could wear those kind of shoes - my knees go if footwear is not completely attached or at least at an angle.
Fooogle - we miss you tooSad. It must be very strange changing season - think I'd feel the same re replacing all my wardrobe too.
I've splurged on a jumpsuit from Mint Velvet in black! Have a wedding eve do and a few 40ths coming up and am so sick of my lbd. Here is the link - it won't work from my phone
here
Going to wear with a fine gold belt and poss my cheapo leopard print heels from M&S.

Mumelie · 19/03/2014 20:01

OMG I got a link to work from my phone! !!

BeginnerSAHM · 19/03/2014 20:19

Oh love the jumpsuit Mumelie!! I'm wearing a lot of black and cream for work (first week back after over a year off Shock) and generally flouting the cbeebies direction from my HOC consultant. Wearing lots of navy too Wink

Mumelie · 19/03/2014 21:22

Thanks Beginner - the top is a bit big but next size down was too tight on thighs. Hope I can sort with a stitch in the wrap and a push up bra!

Yes I find the ceebebes look hard for work too. I tend to have a neutral dress in navy with a bright cropped cardi.

Aquelven · 19/03/2014 21:39

That's lovely, Mumelie, very stylish & sophisticated.

I'm in rebellious mood too, been wearing a lot of my black which I still haven't chucked, or grey & navy. The only bright things have been lipstick or jewellery. Very bright colours seem a bit hard to take if not on holiday in bright sunshine.

OP posts:
MrsPeacockDidIt · 19/03/2014 22:00

Yes, the navy ones. They felt super comfy when I tried them on and quite bouncy. I haven't actually worn them yet though.

Mumelie, that jumpsuit is stunning. I'm still drawn to black a lot but trying not to wear it right next to my face. So that jumpsuit would be fine I reckon. Off to look at mint velvet website now.

There is no way I can pull off the cbeebies look. I tend to wear a lot of grey and navy then add splashes of blue, green or red.

Spring and summer for me normally means white linen trousers so that makes it easier to wear brighter colours I think.

So this week I've invested in some navy slim trousers from gap (can't find them on website) and a green tshirt from banana republic but it's a bit long I think so it may have to go back.

I also need to think about my style personality too so I'm trying to get to grips with all sorts of stuff. This means lots of online purchases and lots of trips to the post office for returns.

I've got these coming this week which I'm excited about.

snakeskin sneakers

Aquelven · 20/03/2014 23:35

Bought these had a voucher from a Christmas gift.

EustaciaVye · 22/03/2014 16:21

Just saw this is in town in Monsoon It is lovely but they dont have my size. It is a really nice colour.

Mumelie · 22/03/2014 17:49

Oh wish I could see Monsoon links from my phone! Will have a look on pc later.
Had a bit of a make up update today as realised my Naked 2 palette was doing me no favours - too sparkly for my crepey eye lids! Shock

I was after the new peach pop blush from clinique (which is an amazing spring shade btw) and picked up one of their eye shadow quads in teddy bear too. Lovely warm browns no sparkle everyday shades. Also bought a cleanser so got a lovely load of freebies too. Impressed with the free foundation which is my shade and nicely neutral. I've never tried clinique before (used bare minerals for years - or a bit of no7). Anyone got any recommendations from them? I'm wearing it all now for the evening so will let you know how it fairsGrin

Joycey29 · 22/03/2014 22:11

Love my Clinique - can't remember what I ve got but will report back Grin

Aquelven · 23/03/2014 13:15

Is that the gift with purchase that's on in Boots, Mumelie ?

I hate how these days you have to have one skincare in your two purchases as I can't get along with any Clinique skin care I've tried. Does anyone have any recommendations for a dry, sensitive skin?

Like quite a bit of their makeup. The brow pencil, which comes in a good cool blonde shade, Chubby Sticks, loose powder & the gel liner which is brilliant, much better than Bobbi Brown's as it doesn't dry out no matter how long you keep it. It comes with a good little brush & the Smoke Grey is a fab colour, a sort of brownish grey. This

Mumelie · 23/03/2014 15:56

Oh thanks for the gel liner recommendation Aque - I'm not getting on with my Revlon one and am was looking at that one online. Yes the gift was with a make up and skin care purchase. I bought the new cleanser you rub into dry skin then wash off (all off something - sorry can't remember name) in a tub - have used twice and seems very effective - no reactions so far. In the gift was a mini foundation (might be a bit dark if your pale - suited my winter skin which is say is a light medium tone), mini mascara which I'm really liking, lip gloss (nice pink shade but given to DD as don't do gloss), eye cream, dramatically different moisturising lotion for v dry skin (going to use at night as think my skin is normal), and a cute tin now holding my statement necklaces!

BeginnerSAHM · 23/03/2014 16:09

Hi all. Right - am going to dye my orange merino tunic jumper from jcrew navy and might dye the coral one too. Just can't hack all the brights I'm supposed to wear as a 'bright spring'...

YouHaveBeenOutbid · 23/03/2014 17:23

Springs! Found you again :)
Just catching up and trying not to buy all the lovely.things you're all linking to. The temptation is great!

Got my style day the week after next. I suspect I'll be a natural or classic or combination of the two. Then the shopping shall begin.

Aque have you had a foot injury and they're recommending ballet flats? It surprises me as I thought all foot people thought they were the work of the devil! I love.how they look but can't find a pair that will stay on properly.

Excuse the silly full stops everywhere. Posting from phone and all thumbs!

Aquelven · 23/03/2014 17:50

No, no they're not recommending ballet flats, just flat shoes for now. I was trying to find some that were not trainers, bit smarter, but with a bit more support than ballet flats. Glad you found us again Smile
Style day! Great, you can come & tell us what you are, see if any of us are the same, & compare notes Smile

Beginner what dye are you going to use? Do you put it in the machine? I'm always worried that I'll turn the rubber a funny colour & all the family's clothes the same! But I can understand avoiding all the brights. It gets a bit exhausting all that in your face jollity! Thank goodness for grey & navy.

OP posts:
butterfliesandflowers · 23/03/2014 19:23

Aque I use Clinique all the time, but never their 3 step routine with drying soap based cleansers and alcoholic toners. their comforting cream cleanser, and the extra mild liquid soap (not soap based) get good reviews (esp by the beautypedia woman) and I use the mild clarifying lotion (no alcohol) and its lovely but its like contraband, often have to ask for it and then they try to give you a numbered one! sent DH once and they totally duped him, even though he gave them my written list which named it specifically - yes I returned it and had a go!

EustaciaVye · 23/03/2014 20:15

I ended up with a really bad back after buying some ballet flats last year aquelven. Would strongly suggest you go for something a bit more supportive given the surgery.

Aquelven · 23/03/2014 22:24

Ok, but it need something smarter than trainers to wear with a suit or dress sometimes. Shall have to go on the hunt.

The comforting cream cleanser sounds a possibility Smile

EustaciaVye · 23/03/2014 22:32

Just did a quick Google. What about Hush Puppies Janessa? Lots of different colours, flat. Look pretty unstructured though.

Aquelven · 24/03/2014 08:06

Thank you Eustacia was so kind of you to look. Not sure about the sticky up bit at the back though rubbing.
Thought perhaps these says they're cushioned.
Or these. Says approved by Healthy Footwear guide but a bit too worthy & black so a bit dark for summer, and us Springs.

I like all these but not sure how supportive, what do you all think?

this

this

love these

these

these

or these

They all SAY they are supportive & cushioned, but would have to see I suppose.
I know they're all Clarks but I have a big Clarks on a retail park that's much nearer to me than a town plus my son gave me a Clarks gift card for Christmas, " to get some shoes, Mum,when your foot's better" Grin

OP posts:
EustaciaVye · 24/03/2014 11:13

I like the Felicia Plum :)
My friend has the freckle ice and says they are comfy.
Think you would need to try some on.

Mumelie · 24/03/2014 12:06

Aque when I had my knee probs and had to be really careful what footwear I wore I found Hush Puppies loafers to be very comfy. Also Moshulu - although a bit fuddy duddy!
Casually I wore fitflop trainers. All of these brands are a bit of a wider fit and completely attached to the foot.
Good luck with your shopping Grin

MrsPeacockDidIt · 24/03/2014 13:29

Aque check out this website here. It was linked from another MN thread. There are some nice shoes on there.

Outbid, i hope your style day goes well. I've just had mine. Classic was described as quite 'lady of the manor', does that sound like you? I was diagnosed as Romantic Natural which is quite pirate/highwayman. Very me!

BeginnerSAHM · 24/03/2014 13:49

Aquelven - haven't dyed anything for years by Dylon washing machine dyes always worked well for me. In the 90s when I was dying 501s green/blue etc Blush. Didn't kill the family washing machine at all - or mark other clothes!!
