Hi Springs.
New thread, hopefully, with the following link to our old one....

Early Spring

Aquelven · 16/12/2013 21:09

A bit better than I thought I would the day after the op, when it seemed much worse than last time. But I've been up & about for a few hours yesterday & today. Even tackled the stairs, very gingerly & slowly with a crutch & hanging on to the banisters. So improving a bit every day & counting down to the splints off & pins out in six weeks Grin gritting teeth

What are you needing? Shoes etc or something to keep warm?

EustaciaVye · 16/12/2013 22:00

Sounds like you are doing well Aquelven. Took me nearly a week to recover from anaesthetic last year Hmm

I need warmth and shoesGrin

Mumelie · 17/12/2013 08:27

Hi everyone. Sorry not been on for a bit - so busy with Christmas work and school stuff!

Glad to hear your healing Aque - I've had several ops on my knee and feel your pain!

I'm starting to think about snow boots too! After a cold hour sat watching DD ice skating last night I'm very tempted.

I'm big into Christmas red at the moment and have recently bought a huge sloppy jumper from TKMaxx and a red wool pea coat in the Laura Ashley sale (sorry can't link on phone). Today I'm wearing spring colours but don't feel very bright - navy top and Cardi, multi print pencil skirt in navy tan cream and brown plus brown riding boots. The red coat will help I think!

GlassesDontSuitMe · 17/12/2013 08:35

Just popping out of hibernation to wish Aque a speedy recovery!

I must be the least springy person in the whole world at the moment. In my wisdom I cleared out my wardrobe in the summer and chucked anything I didn't like or was the wrong colour.

My master plan was to have a splurge and buy new winter clothes that would make me a spring goddess. Well, thanks to a severe lack of time and a horrific choice of stuff in the shops I am more dowdy bag lady than goddess Grin.

I'm on holiday though in three weeks so at least I can resurrect my summer clothes and get my bright fix!

EustaciaVye · 17/12/2013 09:04

I am wearing navy T-shirt and jeans, and a light blue hoody. Not very bright either.

Aquelven · 17/12/2013 11:21

Thanks everyone for the get well wishes, you are lovely Smile

I really like the sound of your navy & skirt outfit, Mumelie. Still struggling with wearing very bright things myself & tend to comfort zone in lots of navy & grey.
Glasses, the shops are dire so you're not missing much. I gave up. Why do the shops think we only ever want warm winter things in black & white or sludgy colours, especially that vile burgundy/plum/berry whatever they call it that makes me at least look in urgent need of resuscitation Hmm

getting ready for Christmas now.

what are you all wearing for christmas day and visits?

Gillybobs · 20/12/2013 10:39

I'm wearing a navy ruched me and em dress with my light grey sequin cardi from white company. Got a fab statement necklace from zara too, never knowingly underdressed am I : )

EustaciaVye · 20/12/2013 11:44

sounds lovely.
I have a teal knitted skater dress with charcoal leggings, and a pretty scarf for one.

And then some indigo boot cut jeans with navy jumper and navy/cream scarf. Not bright at all but it looks great. Then same jeans with a coral top and charcoal waterfall cardi.

Think I need to wear more chunky jewellery. Mine is v simple/classic.

Mumelie · 20/12/2013 12:39

All your outfits sound nice.
I've not really thought about it! Might be my Christmas jumper (but is black). I'm feeling a bit blobby at the moment so something comfortable to fit in all the food! Wink

BeginnerSAHM · 20/12/2013 13:30

indeed - outfits sound lovely... I haven't thought about it either. Maybe a gold sparkly jumper a friend has passed on to me (too small for her) and, err, skinny indigo jeans (as per every day) with ash taupe boots (with spiky brass studs on)

Aquelven · 20/12/2013 17:31

I haven't decided yet either, all your outfits sound lovely.
I need to make an effort though. Been slobbing around at home in old slacks & jumpers, basically anything that's warm & I can pull on over the splint, but been invited down to Ds's house for Christmas lunch. Smile

First year since forever that I haven't been the one doing the cooking while the family all came here for Christmas & the first time he's cooked a big Christmas dinner.....see if all my teaching him to cook when he was growing up was a success! Grin

RipMacWinkle · 24/12/2013 08:47

Hope you continue to recover nicely Aque

Not really thought about what to wear tomorrow yet..... Probably should!

This came through yesterday, perhaps with navy chinos?

EustaciaVye · 24/12/2013 09:12

I like that. I would def wear with navy.

cardoon · 24/12/2013 10:13

I got that too Rip!....not quite as bright as depicted but should be quite useful. I'm wearing mine with these Xmas Grin

Gillybobs · 24/12/2013 11:40

Merry Christmas springs. May your Christmas be warm and bright ; )

Aquelven · 24/12/2013 12:21

That's lovely, Rip.
Hope you all have a very happy Christmas. Smile

OP posts:
Mumelie · 24/12/2013 12:35

Merry Christmas Springs! !!
I have that top too Rip in green - I love it and it's had lots of wear.
Still undecided on Xmas day wear - thinking grey velvet skinnies with pale grey Cardigan and a bright blouse. something lose anyway!
Have a fab day everyone Grin

RipMacWinkle · 24/12/2013 17:13

Fail on my link. I actually ordered the red and green to try. But the red is quite Autumnal, no? The green is a keeper though :)

Mumelie · 27/12/2013 12:25

Bumping this up Springs!!

Time to start a sale chat??? I'm off out today so will see what I can find - in my head I want a new pair of black knee boots but must resist! What I actually need is some slobbing around the house clothes Wink.
Anyone else any sale plans?

Aquelven · 27/12/2013 12:29

Good luck out there Mumelie, hope it isn't too much of a scrum.
My shopping will have to be online this time worst luck. I love a good rummage through the sale racks.
Come & tell us all your bargains Grin
