Cleanse tone and moisturise - do you really? Honestly?

My face gets wet in the shower. Bio oil for the dry bits. BB cream on a special occasion. I've always thought that the C/T/M mantra in magazines is an excuse to sell us three things not just one ie bit of moisturiser.
Will I look 20 if I start this CTM business? Is it just for people who wear lost of make-up/work down a pit? What do you lovely MNs do?

I cleanse tone and moisturise in the morning and double cleanse tone and apply facial oil in the evening.

I do wear makeup every week day.

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/09/2013 20:33

Double cleanse day and night, retin a cream at night and sunblock in the morning.

ZacharyQuack · 17/09/2013 20:33

I cleanse and moisturise every morning and wear makeup most days. Even if I didn't wear makeup, I still wear SPF every day which means I'd need to clean it off at night, which would mean I'd need to moisturise after.

BadgersRetreat · 17/09/2013 20:38

I cleanse and mouisturise every morning and most nights. Got to get what's left of the days slap off Grin

picnicbasketcase · 17/09/2013 20:41

Hell no. I tried to get into the habit for a while but it made me horribly spotty.

Rules · 17/09/2013 20:43

Nope. I leave my eye makeup on but give my face a quick wipe with a baby wipe. In the morning I take my eye makeup off and give my face a clean with a baby wipe. Do facial exercises then add a slick of pure coconut oil and put my makeup on. No sunblock cause I don't believe the chemicals in sun block are healthy for your body.

LeslieKnope · 17/09/2013 20:45

Hell no!

I clean my face (most nights) with whatever wipes are handy then whack on La Roche Posay.

My skin has never looked better. Totally clear and glowing. Its incredible stuff.

duckyfuzz · 17/09/2013 20:49

Cleanse and moisturise yes, twice a day, tone when I remember (once a week or so!)

shopafrolic · 17/09/2013 20:50

Morning and night, every day since I first started wearing make up over 20 years ago

willyoulistentome · 17/09/2013 20:52

Flannel and shampoo suds in the shower. Bit of moisturizer on the dry bits, at the moment have a spotty chin so savlon on the chin. No idea why it's spotty suddenly at the age of 46 after years of no spots. ..anyway. ...Hardly any make up all worn off by bedtime
So just a splash of water while I get my lenses out.

I kind of get the cleanse and moisturise bits.
Tone though? ? Made up by cosmetics companies to keep the idle wives of merchant bankers 'busy'.

Oblomov · 17/09/2013 20:52

No.
I shower. I don't even put soap or anything on my face. Then I moisturise.

Orangeanddemons · 17/09/2013 20:54

Yup every day, twice a day. Well not tone, never see the point in it. I have many many many flaws, but have lovely skin with no wrinkles at 49

conorsrockers · 17/09/2013 20:54

Nope. In the shower, with shower gel every morning. My skin is fine ... maybe I'll look like a prune when I'm 50 Blush

QueenCadbury · 17/09/2013 20:54

I use neutrogena facial scrub daily in the shower (has worked wonders for my hormonal blackheads!), eye cream, serum and moisturiser.

If I'm showering at night I'll use the same scrub and then night cream.

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 17/09/2013 20:58

Cleanse, tone and moisturiser morning and night

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 17/09/2013 20:58

I do, morning and night. And I use a scrub in the mornings. And serum, and a few other bits.

My skin is great, and now that I've hit mid-thirties I am starting to notice that my skin is significantly in better nick than most of my contemporaries.

I use a face wash with face cloth at the sink, rinse and then use serum, eye cream and moisturiser. Morning and most nights - should be every night but I get a bit lazy sometimes. I don't think a toner is necessary if you don't use a cream cleanser, I only use one if I've used a face mask.

fififolle · 17/09/2013 21:08

What serum are you using?
I stick to face wash morning and night, sometimes with clarisonic. I only moisturise in the morning.

runningonwillpower · 17/09/2013 21:14

The bare minimum here - my skin gets angry and blotchy if I overdo the skincare stuff.

Also, I've got this theory. There are two sorts of products; soap or slime and within each category they are pretty interchangeable.

I don't use soap on my face, just water in the morning. And my slime of choice is Simple moisturiser - I use it for moisturising in the morning and for cleansing in the evening.

Works fine for me.

Monadami · 17/09/2013 21:18

Yes everyday, twice daily. I don't really use a moisturiser though, I use a system.

Lottiedoubtie · 17/09/2013 21:22

Yes, facial scrub, toner and cheap moisturiser every morning.

Blush too lazy at night.

Skin is ok. A damn site better than it was before I started using toner.

tanfastic · 17/09/2013 21:25

Nope, baby wipe and moisturiser. My skin is pretty good for a 40 year old.

GobblersKnob · 17/09/2013 21:25

Yes, religiously since I was eleven, morning and night.
