Wearing makeup every day

Just been looking at a trashy website Blush of pictures of celebs without makeup and there is no denying in my mind that most people, me included, look better with makeup on.

When I have made the effort everyone always says "you look nice" or "you look well" and that is because I don't have naturally smooth skin, or dark eyebrows/lashes, and makeup suits me. I am just lazy.

So, those of you who do it every day, how long do you think it should take to apply bb cream mixed with a bit of foundation, concealer, pencil eye liner, one colour of eyeshadow and mascara? I don't really do blusher and lips will be just a touch of gloss as lipstick doesn't really suit me.

What should I do with my eyebrows? They are quite a nice shape and fairly dark - I can't stand the new HD eyebrows ... I don't want to do the school run looking like Katie Price!

Moisturiser - then dry hair and babyliss big hair it
Bit of foundation - under eyes around nose and mouth
Powder
Blusher - if I can be arsed
Eyeshadow / liner - usually
Mascara

I have perfect eyebrows, thick and dark, will occasionally get them waxed.

About 3 mins-moisturise after the shower then foundation or bb cream, concealer, mascara, and lip gloss or stick. Occasionally eye liner.

blueshoes · 17/09/2013 16:20

5-10 minutes. Not long at all but I need it, especially after turning 40.

MmmmWhiteWine · 17/09/2013 16:23

Wouldn't be seen dead without my makeup...I put it on even if I'm not going over the door. Takes 5 mins tops.

Moisturiser
Either BB cream or Laura Geller Balance & Brighten (I love that product)
Little bit of eyebrow pencil to fill in the gaps
Eyeliner
Mascara
Blusher
Gloss/lipstick

ringaringarosy · 17/09/2013 16:33

what is bb?

squoosh · 17/09/2013 16:37

Beauty balm, fancy name for a tinted moisturiser really.

valiumredhead · 17/09/2013 16:39

Tell me about balance and brighten please! I'm always confused when it comes to which shade to get.

DipMeInChocolate · 17/09/2013 16:43

5 mins. Full make up:
Concealer
Foundation / shimmer cream mix
Powder
Blusher
Lip & Eye Pencil
Eyeshadow
Mascara
Lip colour & gloss

Minimal make up, 2 mins. Above excluding Foundation and eye pencil.

gennibugs · 17/09/2013 16:53

Ive got my daily quick routine down to 10mins - I cant leave the house and go to work without the basics! I look half dead otherwise!

LeGavrOrf · 17/09/2013 19:01

I envy people with splendid eyebrows.

Like Kate Middleton and that beautiful dark girl in Downton Abbey.

JustBecauseICan · 17/09/2013 20:14

You still going on about Kate's lovely eyebrows me old mucker Getorf? Wink

(s'me Buch)

LeGavrOrf · 17/09/2013 20:23

Hello Grin

Will you keep the same name for more than 5 minutes.

lady Mary from Downton has taken over Kate with the ultra eyebrows.

JustBecauseICan · 17/09/2013 20:35

I don't watch things with bonnets in. Grin

Was thinking I was due another n/change actually. Might go back to Buch.

Mintyy · 17/09/2013 20:35

I adore straight eyebrows. Sadly mine are quite arched.

I envy people who look done in 5 mins. I need so much make up just to look healthy its untrue. I wish I could just do it with 3 products in a couple of mins but I have sparse, transparent brows + lashes, colourless skin & lips, huge dark circles, broken veins to cover, oily bits to powder... I can't miss a single buggering thing out or I don't look well. Pisses me right off.

madmomma · 17/09/2013 20:37

Oh

madmomma · 17/09/2013 20:37

Oh

madmomma · 17/09/2013 20:38

ffs

madmomma · 17/09/2013 20:41

excuse

MrsBungle · 17/09/2013 20:44

5-10 minutes.

Every day I wear, pressed powder, bronzer, blusher, little bit of eye brown pencil and false eye lashes. That takes me about 5 minutes.

LeGavrOrf · 17/09/2013 20:48

Bloody hell who has given mad momma an orgasm? Grin

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 17/09/2013 20:57

I only moisturise at night cos my skin tends to get too greasy.

Foundation
Powder
Blusher
Eyeshadow
Eyebrow
Mascara
Lippy if I'm going anywhere other than school run

I can't leave the house without a bit of make up. I'd feel naked and self conscious. I don't think I look like I've really got much on but if probably look bloody awful without it. Grin

Umm... Confused

madmomma · 17/09/2013 21:11

I fucking don't know what went on there. I think I was trying to say something about my eyelids being like Louise Redknap's and taking loads of eyeliner to make them look normal but I had a couple of stiff ones inbetween then and now Grin
