Bah, MI, have you not seen Horrible Histories? Horned helmets are so 20th century, apparently :) "Invasion skills" does sound like a rather odd thing to be doing in PE. Is this some kind of shifty recruiting process for the CCF? (Dd did that for a while and then gave it up when she realised that she was having absolutely no fun at all doing press-ups in the mud after school. I said nuffink. Well, actually I may have said some grumpy words about being forced to shell out for bloody army boots which are now, of course, collecting dust.)
Sorry to hear about your Etsy travails, Crem.
Hope MrsS is home safe and sound and will never be troubled by AB or his like again.
Hatty, hope your builders are getting busy fixing everything in doublequick time.
I took ds to the local agricultural show on Saturday. We were browsing the cows, but decided the neighbours would not approve even if we only got a teeny-weeny one. :) My homemade cheese project will have to wait for my next life. We also admired the giant vegetables in the horticulture tent. Ds vastly impressed by the giant marrow. Simple pleasures..
Garden produce is a bit thin on (in) the ground this year. My potato crop was weedy to say the least, the rocket and spinach bolted due to disorganised watering and the bastard slugs repeatedly ate the courgette flowers so no courgettes. However, we do have some tomatoes and would have some raspberries if the chickens didn't keep nicking them.
Dd went to the show under her own steam with friends. Which I am very pleased about. She is also doing lots of sporty stuff with friends at the moment and has been a bit more social than previously, which I think is healthy.
