I think you would look nice in a Frock, personally.

Yes. A frock. The Crepeys (well 2 of them) have spoken...

I have recently purchased this for a similarish occassion (needed to be conservatively smart and didn't want to wear a suit ('cos then there's a shirt / blouse thing to deal with...). Very smart in black, equally lovely in navy... (but then there's a whole what colour tights / shoes thing). It's v good quality and v nicely cut. And currently 20% off... Oh and I got the "long" even though I'm not tall as don't want my knees on display.

Thanks - will order that to try on, looks v. wearable. Even have shoes that would go, I think Grin not often I can say that.

Lovely dress, QQ and very smart - I agree, good choice for interview/talk, etc.

I am NOT buying anything else. I am NOT buying anything else. I am NOT buying anything else. I am NOT buying anything else. I am NOT buying anything else. I am NOT buying anything else. I am NOT buying anything else...

It's very nice Alto. Glad you like the look of it. There's even a jacket in the same wool if you feel you need that (but makes it rather pricy) here. Personally I think without is both appropriate and more "modern".

What's that you say BTM? You're NOT buying anything else?

It's been an expensive afternoon here. DS1 announced yesterday evening that he had lost his keys, that he'd let himself in the day before but couldn't find them anywhere this morning. After a huge search I had to conclude that he might have left them in the door and someone had taken them hoping to return later and turn us over... So have had one lock replaced. Next door but one was burgled last week. Someone circled the square on a bike, when he saw the nanny taking the children to school he and a mate broke in and were still there when she came back Shock Shock

BTM, are you sure you don't need anything else?

I've had that keys scenario...

bigTillyMint · 04/10/2013 17:15

Oh QQ, horrid. There have been a few burglaries along our road, including next door - seem to have targeted houses divided up into flats with no mortice lock. Lucky for next door the alarm went off and our upstairs neighbour rushed down with a crowbar, but they had scarpered. I am now paranoid about the DC locking the door properly.

I have at least 10 pairs of boots. And a wardrobe that is way too smallConfused

I got these from TK Maxx for £23. They are like gloves on my feet. And I have ordered this in black for work/going out.

Alto - I also think that there are a load of frumptastic dresses around - they look like what my mother calls "old lady dresses" (and she's 80). Wrap or mock wrap dresses with small dull prints (as most of them seem to be) look like old lady dresses or overalls on me! I have had limited success with Boden - I got three of the Emma dresses last year - they are brilliant for work. I ordered some dresses just before we left France and they all had to go back. I am all for showing a bit of cleavage but this would have shown off my nipples. And I didn't want something that required a cami underneath every time I wore it. I don't think Johnny B does tits, actually - the models show a vast expanse of nobbly rib cage rather than a good pair of boobs.

Ten pairs of boots ShockEnvy. I have three - two very similar black pairs that DH is at a loss to understand and perhaps he's write as on one occasion last year I managed to put on one of each pair.

I have no S&B in my life. The roofers are nearly finished but have discovered that we really do have a rat problem as having seen one walk twice past my window I asked the roofers who indicated a pile of chopped branches left for some reason by DH a couple of months ago. Apparently there are loads Angry. I have bought poison but I think DH needs to burn the wood dismantle it. The Polish builder said "nice little rat house". I can't believe DH is supposed to be from the country Angry Angry

Mrs s I love both that dress and the bench boots.
I also seem to have more boots than is decent . I am sandals or boots and nothing in between . Hopeless.
I actually got dressed today in leggings and a boden smocky frock .
Nothing whatsoever to report apart from that . I watched the main feature on film 4 and had a lie down after a 10 minute lady stroll down the lane.
As Beachy says livin The Dream.Grin

Oh and I appear to have lost weight. Grin My jeans keep falling down, so I tried a pair I bought ages ago to "diet into" and they FIT! They stay up! They don't fall down! (And when I say my jeans fall down, I mean all the way, not just that they sag a bit, but if I run, they fall right down to my knees.)

Report
bigTillyMint · 04/10/2013 19:04

Fabulous, MrsS! Have you been dieting or is it just falling off you?

Report
MrsSchadenfreude · 04/10/2013 19:06

Not dieting but walking a lot more.

Crem - one of my cats gives me the paw of sympathy if I'm not well. My last cat used to cuddle up with me too. It's lovely. Smile

I have three long pairs of boots, two calf length and three ankle - is that excessive?? I do wear boots all winter and like BTM don't really do shoes.
I need to lose weight and am not buying anything!

Alto thanks for the info - will get mum to check. And thanks for all the good wishes too!

Well done Mrs S. Lovely feeling having slippy jeans (unless you are on the tube or somewhere)

I've got boot envy. I've only got these and I don't really like them very much.... I would like some sort of like www.hm.com/gb/product/13130?article=13130-Bthis but a bit nicer... A friend has some I covert, but I saw them when nipping through to her en suite, so I don't want her to think I've been snooping in her bedroom Blush....They were quite like the H&M ones, but they had a tassel on the outside and were a richer brown.....
