Ah, yes, sorry QueenC forgot it was Black dresses now. Like the ones you pinned. Think pref depends on what sort of party it will be i.e. will people mainly see only the top of the dress if seated for dinner etc? If so, the one with the more interesting neckline might work better?

MarshaBrady · 30/08/2013 08:08

Sounds good QueenC.

I'll do the lunch thing, I'm not great at group shopping. Ever since bf'ding days have learnt to shop fast.

Looking forward to it, what to wear Grin

Hi Momin Smile

Turquoiseblue · 30/08/2013 08:13

Hope you guys got sone rest. Fell asleep thinking of vin too Grin - just in awe of someone managing med school and being a single parent. And sounding cool and sane Wink
Mmm cheese - favourite would have to be a good strong mature cheddar (boring I know) or any creamy Brie, I dislike cheeses mixed with flavours - Guinness / chives/ etc but there is a cranberry one I do accede to every now and then as DM likes it.
Marsha - dh hates my running leggings - in fact hates leggings on women in general but especially when women are running - yes he s an oddball - was funy recently when I was getting running gear and musing what to get - he wound himself into knots trying to politely steer me towards 'normal shorts not leggings ' without offending me.

shopafrolic · 30/08/2013 08:15

Linus I like the sound of your DH's plinkety plonkety music :)
Hi Mominatrix
QueenC will take a look at dresses.
Yes to lunch - group shopping could be chaotic? How many are coming and who's booking (and where) QueenC?
Can we make this our safe place? A Syria free zone - it's too sad. This is my place for warm chat and pretty things :)

Good luck shopping today Liberty

Just want to add on the Syria thing - I'm not hiding, I am interested, I watched the images last night, I'm keeping myself informed, but I haven't slept either and I need somewhere safe to wrap myself up in fashion wool! Hope that's okay?

Hi Vin, it's Carciofi here! I'm glad you've left That Man and you're in med school. I hope it's all going really well for you and DS.

Cheese: parmesan or blue.

DH doesn't like maxis but neither do I. What annoys me is that he is very fussy about the children's clothes. DD2 is very pale and he has colour analysed her and comments if I buy her anything he thinks is too bright. Grrr.

Music: Still love the Pixies and U2, Linus. Also Florence and the Machine, The Killers, Mumford & Son, Liz Phair, Sigur Ros, Calvin Harris, bit of classical, bit of country too Blush John Denver etc.

mignonette · 30/08/2013 08:26

Linus I have a Buddha bar CD.

Turq it's because DH wants to see your bare legs Wink

I gave up trying to sleep so got up and made DH breakfast in bed- poached eggs on toast because watching stuff poaching is calming-like stirring Risotto. I'm strange I know.
Enjoy Cambridgeshire Queen. I often can be found in Cambridge as when in Suffolk I visit Fitzbillies (nostalgia) and walk Grantchester Meadows. Am a fan of the museum too - the one where that man knocked over a ££££ Chinese vase. I never go to the Loch Fyne restaurant down the road though after my DD took me there and I had the most shockingly overpriced 'Fish Pie' I have ever seen.

Today I am wearing the pistachio stripe dress bought on holiday w/ an old pair of pale grey suede Brogues from Carvela (not too clumpy looking) and my Moschino navy flap bag w/ chain handle. i have a big old Ally Capellino satchel for case files etc. I have two client discharged today from hospital so accompanying them home and lots of paperwork (if their discharge meds are written up correctly as last two discharge Px's incorrect because of new Psych junior doctors arriving Aug and not knowing ropes). Bless them, they are like Lambs to....

mignonette · 30/08/2013 08:27

Shop I hear you. I totally get it....Smile

QueenCadbury · 30/08/2013 08:34

I think there'll probably be too many of us to group shop so I'll go shopping before I meet you all for lunch/prosecco.

Someone who lives in London will need to suggest where to go for lunch please. I'm happy to book.

MarshaBrady · 30/08/2013 08:42

Shop me too. Hard to say but we all get it.

Can we have a count for the mu? Do we know how many?

Drywhiteplease · 30/08/2013 08:42

With you Shop it's too big for me too Sad
Can't believe that my cheese question took, off!Grin Grumpy we often have to say "stand back, im opening the fridge"!!!!!

Not sure how warm it will be today.
I'm going to wear my new animal slippers from M and S
"Bf" jeans
Caramel and black slouch colour blocked jumper

Drywhiteplease · 30/08/2013 08:44

a perfect outfit for going to Sainsburys and the tip

shopafrolic · 30/08/2013 08:47

Okay.
Can everyone who is coming to the MU send me a PM please?** Just put YES ME in the title. Message me even if I already know and then I won't miscount Grin
I will then book somewhere for lunch - say 1.30pm? Since a lot seem to be coming into King's Cross I'll try and book somewhere central / West-ish.

shopafrolic · 30/08/2013 08:48

Outfit sounds nice Dry. Weather forecast yesterday said getting more Autumnal - colder mornings and evenings but sunny - Love that!

shopafrolic · 30/08/2013 08:50

Oh and Decam I love Calvin Harris - I went to his gig 3 or 4 years back in North London - was one of the oldest there - ancient raver Grin

OP posts:
QueenCadbury · 30/08/2013 09:05

Have pm'd you shop. Are you happy to book? I'm paddington so central works for me.

shopafrolic · 30/08/2013 09:06

Yup - no problem at all QueenC if you don't think I'm taking over?

OP posts:
QueenCadbury · 30/08/2013 09:08

Not at all shop, thank you for doing it.

I've just read up on Syria as I hadn't really been following the news since being on holiday. Awful.

QueenCadbury · 30/08/2013 09:11

I'd also like to say hello to the new/old people (sorry, can't remember names)

MarshaBrady · 30/08/2013 09:17

Good one Shop. It can sometimes be hard to book large groups without a min spend malarkey. Hopefully we won't need that.

QueenCadbury · 30/08/2013 09:39

I'm worried about dh as he doesn't like this. Surely he should love it. It would make my norks look amazing Grin

Annianni · 30/08/2013 09:55

Love that dress QC.
I've got a VW corset from my mispent youth, and it gave me an amazing cleavage :o

Decameron · 30/08/2013 09:57

King Cadbury doesn't like that dress?!

Shop, I am jealous, will go next time and we'll raise the average age.

MarshaBrady · 30/08/2013 10:08

Love the idea of a King and Queen Cadbury!

Perhaps he'd change his mind if he saw it on Grin
